2) Who's your OCs best friend? How did they become best friends?

Marigold considers her teammates, Ethan and Messiah her best friends. but if she had to choose one, she'd chose Messiah despite her love for Ethan. Messiah was there first and Marigold trusts her more than anyone else.

Messiah and Marigold became best friends over the few years that Marigold has lived and worked under the Operator/Slenderman. They met in a small town Messiah was stationed near and Marigold was lead there by the Operator/Slenderman. Marigold was immediately infatuated with Messiah and began following her. She felt as if this person was special(due to the Operator's influence) . Messiah is wondering why some wide-eyed creep is following her. After a rocky altercation, Messiah takes Marigold to where she is staying. They travel together from place to place at the Operator's whim and slowly form a bond forged in blood, sweat, and death. When they meet Ethan, the new trio settles down in a safe house once owned by Ethan's parents, and Marigold and Messiah, along with the addition of Ethan, form an even closer bond now that they aren't constantly on the run.

9) How does your OC handle their physical health? Do they take care of themselves?

Marigold was never taught how exactly to take care of her health. So it's not uncommon for her to forget steps in taking care of herself such as not eating or even forgetting to drink water. Brushing her teeth is often something she avoids as well due to the triggering memories it brings up. She gets better about it once joining Messiah due to the older woman forcing her to do at least the bare minimum to not smell like shit.

Another aspect I want to touch on is Marigold's hypersexuality. Due to it, Marigold often gets herself into situations that are not safe. She has a history of prostitution before meeting Messiah and she often flirts with other proxies and pastas. This leads to an unsavory and unsafe relationship with Jeff. This will be touched on more eventually lol.

22) Fight or Flight? Are they a lover or a fighter?

Marigold is both fight and flight. Fight when you have to, and flight in every other circumstance. She is a stalker and her job doesn't involve a lot of killing

Now, in terms of personality, I do believe deep down that Marigold is a lover. She loves people and adores connecting with people. She's genuinely kind hearted and cares about those around her. Unfortunately, life doesn't reward lovers and especially not the life she has lived. So Marigold became a fighter in her own way. She grit her teeth behind smiling lips and dug her nails into backs that that took it as pleasure and not seething rage. She bit her tongue and instead of spewing insults, she praised those who had gotten her into this mess. And when she escaped that life, she was just thrown into another that doesn't reward those who love. So she did what she always does, she adapted. She now hisses curses and spews venom to those who deserve it. She doesn't back down from a verbal fight and she doesn't praise those who hurt her. Margold is a lover but her world made her a fighter.

25) Are they the kind of person who can't resist a good song? Can I catch your OC singing to themselves while they do the dishes?

Marigold loves a good tune. She grew up on what is referred to as divorced dad rock and rap. Her music taste now involves a lot of Paramore, Nickelback, Shinedown, and Ke$ha along with many others. So yes, definitely the type you hear singing to herself when she is doing the dishes.

1) Does your OC have a voice claim, if so who?

This one was a toughie because I had to find one that fit her and the one I feel gets the closest is Thorn from Scooby-Doo! and the Witch's Ghost. However, where Thorn has a mystical feel to her voice, Marigold's falls very flat and she tries to make up for it by inserting faux enthusiasm into her tone.

8) What hobbies does your OC have? What do they do to unwind?

When she is not doing the Operator's bidding and hanging out around at home, Marigold likes to do a variety of things. She enjoys taking care of the many hanging and potted plants scattered around the house and even tries to start a garden in the summer. Often times, she'll go out to steal from either her latest stalking victim or a nearby store. She also enjoys visual artforms with her main focus being photography. She takes pictures of everything including other creeps and proxies. A book shelf lies in her room full of scrapbooks and photo albums. Marigold is the only one allowed to touch them and having one devoted to you is terrifying. She also practices witchcraft. All in all, it depends on her mood and her schedule.

As to how she unwinds? sex. This girl fucks tehehe. But she also has a very long winded relaxation ritual she does after missions that include candles, lavender, tea, a book, and some light spell work.

26) What flower do you associate your OC with?

This again is a complex anwser so I'll try to keep it short. If we are going by meaning and mythology/history, wolf's bane. Now my personal flower association for her is marigolds but especially the marsh marigold that grows in her home state of Michigan.

30) My OC and your OC are friends. This isn't a question. I'm not asking. (How do they respond?)

From what I know about your oc, I definitely think Marigold would butt heads with them at first. I feel that due to their own personal situations, Marigold would be extremely wary of Aub at first however, I do think they would quickly grow on her. Marigold like I said is the most open in terms of making friends. She would observe Aub from a distance before slowly making her presence known. She would enter rooms that Aub is in to look at what is happening before leaving. One day, she would approach Aub and talk to them like they had always been friends. So she would be wary but upon not seeing any glaring red flags would immediately be like "Yeah we're friends."

3) What song describes your OC?

Oh okay. So I have an entire playlist for her but if I had to narrow it down, I would say either nobody's favorite person not even my own by carolesdaughter, or Spit It Out by Softcult.(I would like to note that this was hard to narrow down because she is my complex girl lol)

20) If they fight, what's their weapon of choice?

Marigold isn't a fighter in terms of her job to the Operator but she does know how to fight. If it comes down to the choice of a weapon, give that girl a gun. She has implemented bats, knives, and even a golf club at one point in her killings but she would choose a gun any day.

23) Is your OC reliable? Can I call them up at two in the morning if I have a flat tire?

I'd say she's reliable for those she holds dear. When you're someone she loves, she'll do anything for you. You could call her while she's on a job and she would pick up. She might not immediately drop everything but you can be sure that she is speeding through that job to get to you.

14) Who's a character your OC cannot stand! It's on sight when they see them!

It's honestly a toss up between Brian and Jeff. However, with Brian it's more verbal arguments and mind games. With Jeff, she hates his guts and will avoid him. If he harasses her, she either sends her teammate Ethan after him, or pokes him in the eye.

27) What's their spirit animal? Or an animal you associate them with?

So this started as a joke but a crusty white dog. Marigold is very much a dog motif in general but especially a lap dog. If I had to pick a specific dog, King Charles Spaniel.

Marigold loves new friends but it heavily depends on the person's own personality. Someone gruff and rude all the time is not going to immediately win her over and someone who is too sweet up front is going to make her suspicious. Marigold will give them the silent treatment at first before slowly opening up. She's the friendliest in her group and is normally the key to getting in with the other proxies she lives with. So welcome new friend, just don't betray her. You'll regret it eventually.

Rules and Introduction

Hi and welcome! This is a blog for the Demon Spawn Universe, also referred to as Gilded Cages. This blog is run by admins @weepingwriter and @creepingspores

On here, we will be talking about the DS universe as well as our Ocs, Messiah and Marigold. Here you will learn more about both the world of the Demon Spawn universe and how the characters interact.

This is a 16-17+ blog as we will be talking about harsher topics like S/A, Religious Trauma, Murder, Cannibalism, ETC. The admins are also adults. We would prefer not to interact with someone so many years younger. Please respect this. You will be blocked if you don't.

The only real rules is respect our boundaries and be respectful. Just because these characters are dark does not mean you can come out and be nasty first thing out of the blue(This doesn't involve flirting). Most asks will be responding in character unless directed at the admins. The things characters say don't automatically reflect how we are or how we would respond. Don't take anything said too seriously, we are all here to have fun!

We allow shipping with our characters as long as you don't take it to seriously and don't try to ship your underage oc with them.
