i actually need to know people's thoughts on this because at least in my experience the answer to this has drastically changed since i was on tumblr in the 2010s and its driving me fucking insane

*im talking about fandom takes specifically. not someone being horribly evil about a real-life issue or or blatantly factually incorrect. literally just harmless fandom disagreements or differing interpretations of a text/character/etc.

The fact that sea green eyes its not there is saaaad!

Yeah I'm sorry I haven't really been focused on keeping the post up to date because I have a lot of other things going on, working on and planning.

I know I need to update for Peverell's Progeny and I haven't done so, that's true.

As for Sea-Green Eyes, it is up to date. The schedule is literally 'when I want'. I am posting as they get ready and that's unpredictable. As long as I'm finishing up Peverell's Progeny, I am not working on Sea-Green Eyes and I am really sorry it took so much longer than I had originally planned. This fic is my longest and have worked on the longest too so I really wanted to do it justice. I am really almost done with it. I think I have 2.5 chapters to go.

I know I have mentioned it in the author's note of sea-green eyes but was also a few months ago. I thought I would get back to it sooner. I can't promise a date as of now. I have an outline for the upcoming chapter so once I get to it you should see it appear fairly quickly.

Harry let out a sigh, looking heavenward as a laughing Ron walked beside him, increasing his sense of embarrassment.

"Lovesick!" He laughed harder. "I can't believe Slughorn called you lovesick!"

"That's enough, Ron," Harry said through gritted teeth, and it apparently had no effect on Ron's hysterical mood.

"You really are Slughorn's favourite student!"

Harry looked over at Hermione for some assistance, but scowled when he saw her hiding her smile.

"Really, you too?"

"You have to admit, Harry, it is funny," she chuckled. "Although I do find it endearing how much you think about her."

Harry blushed and wished to be as far away from these two as possible.

When he looked up, he saw Ginny maneuvering through a crowd of people, trying to get to them. Once the path was clear, she sprinted towards him and almost collided with him.

"Are you alright?" He asked, concerned.

"Never been better," she answered breathlessly. "I came here because I needed to hear it from your lips." She poked him in the chest, a grin forming on her face.

"What?"

She took a few seconds to calm her breath before she tilted her head, smirking. "Lovesick?"

Harry hid his face in his hands, turning his face up. "Oh, you can't be serious right now!" Ron and Hermione laughed loudly.

Harry heard Ginny giggle and grabbed his hands to pry them off his face. "I heard it from someone in the halls, and I just needed it confirmed."

"Happy now?" Harry sighed.

Ginny, still holding his hands, beamed. "Very. Sorry about your sickness, though."

Despite himself, Harry smiled. "Yeah. It's incurable."

few things more humbling than the realization that you really do write the same fic(s) over and over again

hi! I like threadable replies, but I've noticed that mention notifications are a little different since threadable replies were implemented (I think.) If I'm remembering correctly, we used to be able to click the notification of a mention in a reply on a post & we'd be taken to the reply that mentions us. Now, we click the notif & are just taken to the post itself. This is fine if the post only has a few notes, we can scroll through and find the mention in the replies, but if it's a post with a lot of notes it can be almost impossible to actually find the reply that mentions us. I've had multiple instances where I've been notified someone mentioned me in a reply and clicked on the notif only to give up and not be able to read what they actually said to me because there's hundreds of replies and I'm taken to the post itself instead of the reply I was notified about. I'd love if this could be changed so we could get taken to the actual reply when we click on the notification.

We believe what has happened here is that before there were threads, if you sorted replies from the newest, received a notification, and soon opened the post, the last reply would be at the top.

We agree that it has become harder trying to find the comment that notified you. This is because there is currently no available option to change the sort inside the threads—and because someone might be replying to an old reply (therefore not at the top).

The great news is that we have plans to improve this soon. Watch this space! You’ll get updates over at @changes, and hopefully, it won’t be too long until you hear more on this.

I think it's just sad to spend so much time hating on something when you could be enjoying what you want? Hinny isn't even a popular ship like go and find whatever you like? I don't know it just feels like it must be difficult to have so much hate brewing

I had a dream on sea green eyes across the stream after rereading it again. And it’s such a lovely story! I wasn’t sure what it would be by caveman description but it really is about two cultures coming together in acceptance and respect.

My actual question: in the alliance and war preparations to support Harry’s tribe, will Ginny’s village learn any of his language to help the tribes fight along side each other and communicate? Like if Ginny is general will Harry be her interpreter? Will they both be bilingual and give orders in each other’s language? Will the tribes become bilingual?

Oooh I love a language question! I also feel so honoured you dreamed about it!

Well it's the stone age so it's not like their is any kind of formal education, it's more of a learn as you do so I intend it to be the case for the tribes.

Their languages do have a common origin, as it's reflected in their common ceremonial language, so they do have some words in common (and we know in real languages with common ancestors, items that are really common will often keep that same name and evolve from there, so it's those words I try to give them in common. Everyone knows what's water is called for example, but perhaps not what an oak tree is called in the other language)

I think a lot of them will learn by being near Harry. Ginny is at the front there of course and Harry and Ginny are nearly bilingual by the time they meet with the rest of Harry's broken off tribe. Her family comes second who will have become fairly fluent just by being around him and then anyone else he spends a lot of time with. It would be mostly the elders and the men he goes hunting with.

I don't think the tribes would be bilingual, well they would be for a time but they would merge back together by enriching one another, kind of a natural flow of things. I don't think Harry would need to be Ginny's interpreter by the time they meet the rest

They can also rely heavily on the ceremonial language. While most people are not fluent in it, there are words in it they could use they would all know
