I kinda wondered if Cam's brother and Rebecca's were friends first and that's how the girls met. In that vein, do you think their families were close when they were kids and then kinda fractured apart after Gabe's death?

i Love Love Love the idea of then being this tight knit friend group of siblings!! cam seems so incredibly introverted but also Yearns to have friends so i think that she really had to be coaxed out by her brother. I feel like the boys were on the same sports team (either soccer or hockey) and they began inviting their sisters and then they became friends and then lovers. but yeah i do think their families were close due to that (or as much as they can be, im sure cams dad was very slammed with work all the time) and gabes accident really shattered that relationship, because one of the key threads tying them together is just gone. and i think rebecca leaving for new york was the final nail in the coffin

Thoughts on Rebecca's tattoos? I like to think she used to let Cam draw on her wrists to imagine what it'd be like to finally get some. And as soon as she was old enough she made Cam take her to a tattoo parlor and promise not to let her chicken out.

THISS!!! i feel like her first one she got was when she was seventeen and it was on her wrist and cam was like ‘hey. i’m pretty sure this spot is going to hurt a lot. maybe you want to get something on your shoulder?’ and rebecca is like no. nah im good im tough and she manages to save face and not cry at the parlor and then for the next week or so cam is very gently wrapping it and making sure it heals properly and doesn’t get infected or whatever… and she loves taking care of her too by the way!!

How do you think Cam's dad and brother relate too/navigate her indigenous identity? From what we've seen so far, her Dad seems to recognize it as part of the reason she had a tough time as a child and he accepts and loves her in spite of it. But the way her brother just casually called Reena a Bic girl in front of Cam, and then barely seemed to consider what the cigarette burn between the eyes could mean, makes me kinda feel like maybe he doesn't really see it as a part of her anymore, as if once she proved herself as a cop or something she became one of the family and he doesn't see her as indigenous really at all anymore. Which just makes things sk much more complex for this family dynamic! Aghh! Your thoughts?!!!

noo that’s what i’m saying their family dynamic is so complicated… i think she really has been accepted into her family which is good!! but consequently they don’t really see cam as a native woman anymore, she’s very much one of them. but while she loves them as her family i know she also feels pulled towards her roots and reenas murder is only going to alienate her more from this town thats largely white and her family, because like reena she’s caught between two vastly different worlds….. like i dont even know where to start with an in depth analysis but she is simply so juicy as a character there’s SO much to analyze and i really hope they do get more into her being first nations and how that impacts her family dynamic and in turn how that affects her solving the case (re: the venn diagram of her work and her family being a circle)

I feel like Rebecca and Cam's dad's would get along great.

Rebecca's Dad: Biggest fear is that his daughter isn't speaking to her childhood best friend. Senses there's some tension there.

Can's Dad: Biggest fear is that his daughter will go off to Vancouver and like it so much she doesn't come home for 10+ years.

*I just think they could offer each other a little insight

Put those two old men in a room and you know theyd figure out not only what happened between their daughters but also probably how to be better dads for real. i actually do love both of them i think theyre both sensitive to their daughters even if they dont understand them.. also it gets me how cams dad is soo offended about her leaving for vancouver like he cant just hop on a ferry and be there in 2-3 hours. sigh

Okay, but which would you rather see? Rebecca kissing and/or unwrapping Cam's knuckles after a bout with the punching bag OR Rebecca tracing the lines of a tribal tattoo along Cam's bare back?

literally something about rebecca tracing a large dark tattoo on cams back and being like wooww... this must have hurt a lot.. you're soo brave <3 you're so strong and cam being like "no it didnt hurt that much... it wasnt that bad" trying to be tough but really shes trying to hide her blush and smile. the aftercare from boxing is elite too though <3

Waiting for the day we find out Cam wrote Rebecca letters after she left but never sent them.

Do you think this would be in character??

i think she would write something out but i just don't think she'd have a way to send them :( since rebecca seems to have just. up and left i doubt she'd have an address and i think she'd rather die than go to the godfreys and ask for her address because then it would be out in the open that her best friend/lover totally abandoned her :( maybe she'd keep them in a box but even when rebecca comes back i don't think that she'd ever give them to her.

Hmmm. Given some of the scenes that we've gotten with Cam and her family, do you think her Dad adopted and raised her on his own or was there a wife on the picture maybe who we haven't seen yet because she passed away or something?

HELPP.. this is the hardest thing about cam and i deliberately didnt write about it because i dont even know where to start. my gut does tell me she was adopted, probably as a teen but then that calls into question that 'new toy' line. and to his credit her dad does give major single dad energy. i'll have to look back and try to see if he's wearing a wedding band but i kind of picture him and his wife/scotts mother getting divorced right after he's born, and maybe she runs off with some guy on the mainland and doesnt really ever come back. but if she was adopted and then her adoptive mum died.. thats like another ton for poor Cam to unpack :(

You're right! Cam's dad does pull her in! And yeah, given the speech we had from him just a little earlier in the episode about how he'd always get her a new toy to keep her happy because she'd been through so much, I do think you're right and that he saw Reena's broken body and thought of Cam and what her life could've been like if she hadn't come to live with them. And I think maybe there will be another talk about Vancouver later where he'll reveal he really does want her to go live her dream because of everything they've seen with Reena's case.

No yeah I think Cam being unfortunately right about Reena immediately opened his eyes to what his daughters life is like... he strikes me as a good guy who really just doesnt get it but is trying his best and I know he'd be proud if/when she gets a transfer/promotion to vancouver!
