On labels.

A friend of mine invited me out to some lesbian party in the city with her friends a couple of weeks ago. That same night, I made plans with some friends as well. So, when I got the invite, I wanted to dub my original plans and go out with my friend solely based on the fact that she never goes out due to her workload from Law School. So, I told this same friend I made prior plans but I’ll let her know whats up. She begged me to come out but at the end of it all, I had to decline and I told her I’ll see her next time. At the end of the conversation, she said “it was worth a shot. I figured you weren't going to go. You’re not really gay.” For a minute, I laughed it off with her and I asked her what she meant by that. She proceeded to say that I wasn’t really “gay” and that she doesn’t need to explain herself. 

Looking back at that conversation now, I’m a little more than upset by it. It’s annoying for people to get so caught up in labels and trying to label me, specifically. (Mind you, this came from the same woman who was sleeping with a man for 3 years because she was in complete denial about being a lesbian woman of color, but i digresssss.....) I have never labeled myself anything in the past and I will continue to not label myself until the day I die. It’s also very annoying for people to try to label me based on my past relationships (and lack thereof...). I’M TIRED OF HAVING THE “SEXUALITY IS FLUID” CONVERSATION. I’M TIRED OF TRYING TO EXPLAIN WHAT AND WHO I LIKE. It’s frustrating. I was in a relationship with a woman for 5 years. I’ve had sex with other women and I’ve had sex with other men. This does not mean that people can categorize me based on the people I’ve talked to or had sex with. This is a conversation that I’ve had with people on a regular basis. Whether its from a potential person of interest or in casual conversation, people can’t seem to grasp the idea that I DONT need nor want a label. 

In all honesty, people are trash and I’m over them.

The last person I had sex with decided to bite me on my thigh. In the moment, it was hot as hell. But it's been 3 months since then and there is still a faint black and blue mark from his bite. It's annoying to look at because we don't speak anymore and I have to constantly mourn the bomb dick I *had*to let go 🙄.

I cannot talk to people long enough to establish a connection because I lose interest very fast. So how am I supposed to eventually end up in a relationship?
