Redrawing old art 2: Rapier

We’re going into OC territory oooohh

Lore corner time: Rapier (she/they) is a part of a story I like to call Compass, and they are the Holder of the Golden Gem of Celestial Orbit. (Long title, ik)

Before receiving the Gem, however, she worked for this lady, Alexis who, by the way, is a bit of a manipulative jerk (also probably a mafia boss).

After she received her Gem, she meets Felix, (we’ll get into him later) and they become kind of a sibling duo.

Chaos ensues and we have us a silly little story. (The first of many. So. Many.)

Re-drawing old art 1: Kris-Knight (pre-chapter 3)

I realized half-way through that I redesigned the armor a lot, but I think it works!

It’s got the same vibe as the original.

Sorry for not doing the usual art process, I got so caught up in drawing that I forgot to take pictures.

I’ve decided that this’ll be a series of drawings, originals being mostly pre-tumblr that I feel like re-doing.

I’m starting out with Deltarune here, because I know people who enjoy my content are mostly all UTDR fans.

With luck though, you might see some characters from other media, original stories, or D&D campaigns I’ve been in, maybe with some story telling and/or redesigns on the side!

The point is, you’ll see more stuff like this in the future.

I can see where you’re coming from, but also, that’s kind of the point?

Compare them to the Knight here.

I wanted them to be similar enough to look like they work with each other, but on the level where it seems like the Knight is Kris’s superior. (Kris is it’s squire, after all)

If you’d like to hear more of the design process, that’ll be under the cut.

When I was first doing the sketch for their design after chapter 4, it felt less like they were Kris, and more just a weird, shadowy shape.

Then, I remembered a design I made a while before chapter 3, and decided to do something similar, giving them the cape and horns.

(couldn’t find the drawing, I’ll probably edit this later)

I also have a tendency to overcomplicate designs when it comes to character design, and it ends up feeling a bit cluttered, so I wanted the Squire’s design to be simpler.
