Btw Israel let Palestinians celebrate not one (1) holiday in peace. They didn’t grant Christian Palestinians access to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, they actively attacked families who were already starving at Iftar during Ramadan, and now there are several reports of families being killed on Eid al-Fitr—a sacred multi-day holiday practiced by lots of Arabs. It breaks my heart imagining the Palestinian families in Gaza right now, most of whom are spending Eid mourning loved ones who were taken by Israeli strikes. Most of us will never understand the sheer magnitude of that pain.

“The boat scene was so random”

Actually no it was not. Abby and Owen had known each other for years, both dating for a small while when they were young but breaking up as Abby wanted rather needed revenge for her father.

Years passed with both not wanting to reach the topic of their past, they have so many built up feelings that it has to be let out,

Owen clings to the past of him and Abby’s relationship and while Abby moved on from him she clings to the fact that Joel was alive.

We can see in the aquarium how owen was painting the view from Salt Lake City where we saw them help the zebra. This is another show of how he’s clinging onto what him and Abby had.

Abby on the other hand we can see that she’s happy for owen and Mel, yes she’s anxious that now her pregnant friend is with them on a dangerous mission in the beginning of the game and while you could argue that Abby was jealous I would says she was jealous that Owen was able to move on, have a family, be happy

Abby feels like she doesn’t deserve to be happy if Joel is alive. That’s why her passion for revenge is so strong.

When they confronted eachother in the boat scene the only way that they could get their thoughts across was through actions not words. Abby immediately regretted it, you can tell by the look on her face. You can see by how cowardly she was when Mel confronted her that she truly never wanted it to escalate that badly

But Owen. Owen again clinged to that, he thought him and Abby had another chance together seen in the line

“I don’t think she knows about last night”

“I don’t care about last night”

“I do”

“Which key opens the door”

Abby hated herself for what happened but this scene is imporant to her character because now everything that has been plaguing her for years with her and Owen. It’s gone, it’s done everything Abby wanted to say but couldn’t is now “said” she could finally let go of her past.

Joel was dead, her past with Owen is now dead, the only thing left for Abby was to find herself again.

When she killed Joel - you could see Abby had a lighter sense of self compared to the flash back of 4months before the begining of the game

After the boat scene - in Santa Barbara Abby walks with a smile, she’s happy she has no former weight on her shoulders

The boat scene is important to Abby’s growth as a character. So no her have sex with Owen was not random. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

Dating Abby Anderson and going to Santa Barbara would include...

You and Abby had already been dating for a while before everything in Seattle went down.

She and Lev were also pretty bonded after everything.

But you and Lev hadn’t spent much time together before the three of you escaped so things were a little awkward.

You were all pretty traumatised too.

Everyone you knew and loved - the people you thought of as family - were dead.

Lev and you bonding over not really knowing shit about boats and having to rely on Abby (who didn’t really know anything either but knew more than you two).

Nightmares were a pretty common thing.

There wasn’t a single night where one of you didn’t wake up in a cold sweat for the first few months.

You and Abby taking it in turns to sit with Lev until he went back to sleep after a bad dream.

Abby having a lot of guilt about everything that happened and feeling depressed and insecure for months on end.

She didn't want Lev to see how upset she was because he had just started returning to himself.

Most nights you’d hold her and cover her in kisses while she let herself cry.

The months went by and you all slowly began to heal.

Switching between being on land and being at sea.

Abby finding a big box of games and stuff in an old farmhouse you guys were picking through one day and being super excited.

You had never been big on board games.

And Lev being Lev had no clue what they were.

So that was how the three of you ended up crouching around the table on the boat every night as Abby taught you how to play all the games

Turns out it was just what you all needed - especially during those long days at sea

(Except for monopoly which led to you flipping the board over and the dice falling into the ocean)

That was the first and last time you ever played monopoly

You loved Jenga because it was the least boring one

You and Abby trying to find as many books as you could for Lev because boy loves to read

The three of you collecting a miniature library over the months

To the point where you almost didn’t have room for anything else

Because books everywhere

The three of you just being a family

The world was absolutely shit

But at least you had each other

Today 40,000 meals were dropped over Gaza Strip courtesy of the us army. You may be smiling and saying finally something but no these would have fed less than 5% of the population. And I say would have because most of these meals were expired. We dropped expired meals for less than 5% of the people who are being starved death. This is no longer just funding this genocide this is actively particpating. Also please do not forget the flour massacre hundreds of people were shot trying to get flour to feed their starving families and this isn’t the first time this has happened.

now, there is a tiny little respite from this issue, and that's turning off third party sharing in your settings (blog settings > visibility > third party sharing).

the wicked little detail is that if you have your reblogs enabled, which many writers on this app do, tumblr can take any reblogged version of your work to feed it into the maw of a machine. so i strongly urge as many blogs turn off this third party setting as possible, if not for the sake of your own work, for the sake of others as well.

but just imagine u n Abby meeting up at her car after an excruciating day of classes, studying, n practice. the parking lot is practically empty by the time you two meet up, that’s how late it is. there are a few scattered cars here n there, but none are directly next to her car (a sleek white sedan with an absolutely massive trunk/backseat. she keeps the back seats down for supplies n u).
