Surely, one of the things I could have never predicted, not even in a thousand lifetimes, was meeting Lara. She was someone who had the exact same aim as me, albeit our reasons were different. Another traveller on the very road I had thought I walked alone.

At the very beginning, though she had enticed me to my core, she wasn’t more than any other ally in my eyes; I had thought we would reach our shared goal and then go our own ways. I had assumed the relationship between us wouldn’t get past companionship.

Yet time had only brought us closer. I had found a type of comfort from a distant time I thought I would never feel again in her. A sense of peace not even divinity could give a man. One I vitally needed. I also could clearly sense she felt the same towards me; a fact even a blind man could see.

In the past, though I tried to ignore it, I had been living with a void inside me; a void I knew I would only be able to fill by finding a place I belonged. The Travellers - Kurtis' Comprehensive Timeline

I'll begin this post by saying that I might be talking way too much about my story. And I may be overly enthusiastic. But believe me, it all stems from the pure passion I have for it, and that I apologize if I'm being a bit too talkative or annoying. Anyway, I'll proceed with the post: Much of what you see in the story stem from the Bloodline documents, though I have made some alterations to the details to fit the narrative better. So I decided to make this post to clear up the timeline for it. This timeline is largely based on Murti Schofield's own timeline for Kurtis, and includes the respective years and ages. And here it is:

June 26, 1972: Kurtis is born to Konstantin Heissturm and Marie Cornel in Utah, US.

1972 - 1975 (Ages 0 - 3): Kurtis lives with his parents in the small town where the remainder of the Lux Veritatis reside.

1975 - 1985 (Ages 3 - 13): Konstantin takes his infant son along with him to Europe, leaving Marie behind. The two travel quite often to prevent the Cabal from tracking their whereabouts. Konstantin also begins to train his son with quite an intensive routine.

1985 - 1989 (Ages 13 - 17): The father - son duo return to the US. Kurtis rarely sees his mother. Konstantin tasks his son with investigating the Monstrum crime scenes in the country.

1989 (Age 17): During one of said investigations, Kurtis meets a girl his age. She says her name is Ana Bloom, and that she is there to report on the murder as part of her journalism campaign (Nothing professional, she is there to hone her skills). I will be touching on the details further in the coming chapters.

1989 - 1991 (Ages 17 - 19): The two start to date, despite the rule Konstantin had set on his son: do not see anyone. Kurtis believes that it will be alright and proceeds with the relationship anyway (He believed the Cabal wouldn’t target Ana, as she isn’t a part of the Shadow War. Teenage naivity, as I like to call it.). Major cause for his guilt in the present day. All flashback scenes you have seen so far take place in this period.

1991 (Age 19): During a seemingly normal trip to the bayside, Ana is shot by one of the Cabal’s assassins. She passes in his arms. Pivotal event for Kurtis, as it entirely changes how he thinks, feels and reacts to things in the present day.

1991 - 1996 (Ages 19 - 24): Kurtis runs off to France without telling anyone and joins the French Foreign Legion. Changes last name to Trent. Spends the next five years sharpening his abilities and fighting off paranormal entities tailing him. Earns French citizenship. Earns the title “The Demon Hunter”.

1996 (Age 24): Konstantin is murdered by Eckhardt. This fuels Kurtis’ anger further. Marie mails him the shards and the Chirugai.

1996 - 2001 (Ages 24 - 29): Kurtis returns to the US. He is mainly alone, but is also led by his mentor, Father Francis (He is briefly mentioned during a conversation with Lara, but other than that he isn’t that important to the story.). Runs freelance jobs and ends up joining Marten Gunderson’s army of mercenaries. Tracks down Eckhardt at the same time. Gunderson then joins the Cabal.

2001, Winter (Age 29): Events of AOD begin. Him and Lara meet.

2001, Late Winter - Early Spring: Events of AOD end. Events of TT begin. (Roughly three or so weeks in between.)

And the rest is history :) I will also be taking this as an opportunity to tell y'all the next chapter is dropping this Thursday. Can't wait to see you there!

Sad to say I relate to this. I dug around in the Bloodline files, Murti’s notes, anything to help me in the writing process… And there was almost nothing of face value. I especially hoped to find more of Kurtis, and the Nephili.

UPDATE (#1 for this planning path mess)

I just finished reading Murti’s notes and I’m… disappointed. But not in the way that you think, let me explain.

The main reason why I started reading the notes was for me to connect the story of Malini with the plot was planned or discarded in the games

A little bit of context, Malini is Indian and I added Hindu mythology, at least some myths (altered ofc for the story) but I was thinking It wouldn’t made sense since traod involves a lot of Hebrew biblical figures, and I don’t want to distance it a lot from the main idea to the point it would be a different.

My disappointment came with the nephillims and Karel witch I wanted to explore in my fanfic, where they came from, how far was their influence reach in the globe, their traits and powers but I realize Murti hasn’t written enough of them. Instead he focused a lot on Eckhardt which I get it but only for the first game, because he was a muppet and supposedly Karel , who was the master mind in everything, would have taken the role of the main villain for the rest of the games, then why Eckhardt appears on the notes planned for the rest of the games?

It bothers me a lot he used that energy for Eckhardt instead of the nephilims and Karel because it was the main point of the story, we could have a lot of development but no.

Also why is there nothing of Kurtis and Lara’s relationship? Anything about Lara’s thoughts or development?

Now, I don’t know what to do, I don’t know how to connect Malini’s story with the nephilims and Karel, and all of the lux veritatis and all the Hindu mythology with the Hebrew, to make it sense.

At this point I think I’m making a mess, as in my country says hacer un arroz con mango. The main story I think I have it but I have to connect everything to make it worth. So yeah those are my opinions of Murti’s notes, they were great but it wasn’t what I expected.

A little anatomy and my own headcanon Kurtis' tattoos practice <3

There has always been this thought in my head about the tattoos. Let me generally introduce it to You.

Since his father and the LV adepts tattooed him with LV-related imagery against his will, it would most definitely feel like his bodily autonomy has been taken without consent. Like Your skin is not really Your own anymore.

Thus, I am very inclined to think he would tattoo his own body when he gets older, with things that are meaningful TO HIM. Things that HE CHOSE. Not only as an act of rebellion against his father and LV's beliefs, starting a kind of battle happening on the field of his own skin - but also mainly because it would feel like taking his own freedom and body back.
