TYK Audio Book!

Man it's been a long time since I've posted on here - feel free to tell me if I'm forgetting anything! Some of you already know this, but I wanted to put out the info more generally: I'm currently working with lovely fan translator lianzi to make an audio book of Tian Ya Ke. Qi Ye hopefully to follow, or I might even do them in tandem if I'm feeling really brave! There are three audio chapters up already and I'm aiming to produce one a week, posting on Sundays. CHOMP!

Welcome to WenZhou Chomp Week 2023, where we gather to celebrate Priest’s characters Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu and the act of chomping. Be it biting, gnawing, nipping, nomming, or any other act of taking the flesh of another into one’s oral cavity, we have prompts to whet all types of appetite.

Prompt reveal: August 16th

Chomp Week: September 4th to 10th

How to participate:

Between the prompt reveal and Chomp Week, use the prompts to stimulate your creativity and create mouthwatering fan works. (Feel free to use the prompts as you wish: just one, all of them, or mix and match.) Fanarts, fanfics, edits, pictures, cakes, doodles, drabbles - anything that would get you inspired is welcome!

Additionally/alternatively, enjoy and promote others’ fan works during Chomp Week. Don’t forget to show your appreciation to the creators of the feast by liking, commenting, etc.

Although this event focuses on Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu, please feel free to create fan works around other pairings and characters from Qi Ye, Tian Ya Ke, and Shan He Ling (Word of Honor)!

The Fatal Rose

Hey there - so I’ve been beyond awful at updating here, but for any of you who are here because of my fic “The Fatal Rose”, I want to make sure you get this memo! Last year the novel based on this fic found a home with Evernight Teen, a cool Canadian Indie press you can visit here: https://www.evernightteen.com/ And the novel’s ebook release is next week, on June 3! Just passing by to let you know that I read The Deepest Secret and found it absolutely heartwarming. I'm very attached to those characters, and you definitely did them justice with a mature and coherent portrayal. So thank you for giving me a few hours of distraction! I'm not really into AUs, otherwise I would jump right into The Fatal Rose. I might still do at some point. But in the meantime, if you have any suggestion for post-canon, reunion fics I'd gladly read them! Wish you all the best.

Aww, thank you, that is a really sweet comment! And I do understand about the AU - I actually never saw myself writing one, I like post-canon fics, but I was stuck a third of a way into a novel (I write and edit professionally) and my daughter had the idea of busting through the block by turning it into a fic. I shouldn’t really have been surprised that it turned out to be a brilliant idea. She is brilliant! So I have to say, while I still love HxH I wouldn’t really put myself int the fandom anymore so my info will be a little out of date. But probably my all-time favorite post-canon fic is “The Predatory Wasp” by SilverCisterns. There are some great ones by Murder_Baby but mind the tags, not all of it is for everyone. Fireolin is a stunning writer and her masterpiece imo is “Sea Torn Hearts” but it’s another folk-tale AU. So, so good though! I also can’t quite remember who has written what in terms of canon compliant, but some of my other favorite HxH writers are Xyliane, DecemberCamie, DriftingGlass, AutumnPen. Losing Sanity Fast writes good stuff too but mostl AUs I think? And if you like Leopika then look for zenelly, Caprichoso, and Necey. Necey’s haunted house one is particularly wonderful, as is Zanelly’s “Shimmer in Your Shine” though again, both AUs and both have Leopika as the main love interest. Hope that gives you some fodder! xGlitter

Update on “The Fatal Rose”

I'm not entirely sure where to put this to ensure that people will see it, but I'm hoping that you find it here if this fic matters to you!

So, as many of you know, I'm a professional writer and editor as well as a lover and writer of fanfic. What many of you probably don't know is that my HxH fic, “The Fatal Rose,” began its life as an original novel. When I hit a block in writing the first draft, I decided to write the rest as fanfic on my daughter's suggestion, also to fulfill a promise to write for the 2019 HXH BB.

Well, it went better than I thought, and now it looks like this book, in its original form, could end up published as a novel! If it does, I will likely have to take the fic down (it's considered a conflict of interest to most publishers since AO3 is free.) But I have been so touched by the love this fic has garnered, and all the kind comments readers have sent in the last year and a bit. So I want to tell you now that it may disappear (at least for a while!) from this site and give you time to save it if it's important to you. Please know that I WILL put updates on here if I take it down, re the publication as a novel. And hopefully, someday, it will do well enough that I'll be able to put it back up, if all of this happens.
