(Yes I know it's January but I got busy and I don't want to wait till December to post this ok)
Did a redraw of my old holiday Sonic to see how my approach has changed. 2024 on the left, vs 2021 on the right!
#a lot of people were talking about this on twitter and I saw it here and I feel like I want to give my input#Both drawings are amazing#you have an amazing talent for coloring shading posing everything#but what people don't realize is it's clear these 2 drawings draw from two separate inspirations#original from the official model for sonic in modern games#new one from how sonic has always been depicted in 2D art#and I personally prefer the new one#because while yes the old one was technically “correct” in proportions and accuracy#it just felt like it lacked the “sauce” of 2D sonic art if that makes sense#and I know it sounds like I'm saying it's bad but it's really not they're both amazing drawings#but the new one really feels like *sonic*#the sarcastic 2kool4skool attitude#the different expression helps that of course but it's the new proportions and layout of his face#the new shapes of the muzzle and eyes especially look phenomenal honestly I can't lie it's a major improvement#you've come a long way and it's always nice to see your sonic art. official or not#keep up the good work evan and thanks for all the cool stuff :)#fav
