Tiny Regret As much as I can, I try to live my life without having regrets. Regrets are useless. They make you feel down, sad or angry at yourself. On top of it all, they're rarely constructive or objective. They prevent you from focusing on the now and on what's ahead. Regrets are the ultimate way to waste time and energy on things you can no longer change. But living a 100% regret free life is almost impossible. After all, how do we learn from our mistakes if we don't dwell on or review, even if it's just a short moment, things we could have done differently. You might ask: "what does this have to do with the picture?" Well, I kept this picture in my phone for over a year now. This shot was taken when I discovered this little street hidden in the center of Shanghai. I found Shouning road accidentally as I rode my bike to go meet a friend. The whole street is dedicated to sea food and especially crayfish. I was immediately captivated by how colorful and lively this little block long alley was. I thought that I absolutely had to go back for a crayfish feast and to make a video about it. But I never did and ended up moving to Shenzhen. And to this day, I still carry this little trivial regret with me. Obviously, it is still possible for me to do it next time I will be in Shanghai, but I just wish I took the time when I was still living there. Really!? I looked at you because I thought you were interesting, different from what I see every day. I looked at you because you were there, in front of me. Of course, I chose to come all the way here. I traveled all this way to discover places like here and see people like you. I don't know much about your cage... who put you in there... how much time you've spent in there... are you happy with it... do you wish to come out... I don't know any of this. And I can't really ask you. So I might guess or invent your story in my head based on what I see and what I hear around. But who really knows the full story? First Glimpse at Guangzhou I went to Guangzhou for the first time... just a for a few hours. It almost felt like I went there uniquely to catch this mesmerizing sunrise. It was worth it. PS: it's the first time I use "mesmerizing" and "sunrise". Strange combination, but I like it... especially when I say it out loud. (at Guangzhou, China)

That Balcony I was holding back. The "Shenzhen Apartment Hunting" video series on my YouTube channel took forever to come out. I had already been living in this apartment for months before the first episode came out. And almost every day, I was blown away by the amazing sunsets I would catch from my balcony. But I felt like I couldn't really share them because it would break the "storyline". So there you go! It was more than due. I love the view from this balcony. Verticals I went with a friend to visit this kind of garden occupied by traditional Chinese looking buildings. It seemed like a very popular place amongst locals. A lot of families were hanging around the gardens and enjoying the sunny day. Kids were running around. Couples were taking selfies, while others went to take a look the souvenir and art shops. I went around the whole place. Inside, outside and all the way to the rooftop. Time... Why do all my thoughts have to be about time? Time flies, the good old days, enjoying the moment, not having enough time, planning ahead, how long it's been, wasting time... Maybe time is really the only thing that truly matters. Some people say that time is money, but actually money is just a waste of time. "Love is the only important thing." But love only exists because of time. Love takes time. Love lasts for a while... or forever. Or maybe this is just a cool night picture taken on the beach and it has nothing to do with all this... Red Door I haven't shared anything on IG for quite a while. Life got in the way... to be cliché. I thought this picture of the Hong Kong MTR would be a good way to get back into it. A Stone's Throw Away Throwback Thursday... Can you be happy where you are and yet miss somewhere else? I do. I love China. I love my new city. But I miss Cambodia. If I was in Cambodia, would I miss China? After a while, I probably would. It's so easy to miss what you don't have anymore. (at Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia)

Equals Zero I don't always look up, but when I do... I take random abstract pictures of the ceiling or the lights and then pretend to be an artist because I saw something that others didn't. I take the time to frame it in a certain way. It takes me about 3 minutes if I really give it some time. I then spend about 10 minutes to tweak it a bit and make it look better. And when I'm done, I spend hours trying to figure out a way to give this barely aesthetically interesting image a deep or clever meaning. If I finally get people to nod and think to themselves "Ah! Interesting!" Or "I never thought of it this way!", then I succeeded. (at Shanghai, China)

Cornered So you're stuck. You open your eyes and all you see is two walls meeting in a corner. Nowhere to go. You're obviously at the end of the road. You went as far as you could. Now all there is left to do is to curl up and hope for something to happen. Are you kidding me?! Just turn around! One hundred and eighty degree and move forward! But how can you call going back moving forward? If you're miserably backing up, it may not be. But if your face is pointing in that direction, it's forward.
