Posting these unedited comments / thoughts of mine I made on a Discord server ( P.S. : Thank you for letting me join 🥹 It’s been a blast so far ) for anyone interested :
-
On Ahsoka S2 having a time jump of one or more years and if that even makes sense story-wise ; also, if that is actually bearable / acceptable given a Sabezra-centric point of view, given that they’ve ALREADY been separated for a decade at this point :
1.1) Yeah me too! But from my experience writing a fic set post-Ahsoka S1, I found that it was really, *really* hard to make a story that made sense with a ‘separation’ ( i.e., Sabine in Peridea and Ezra in the known Star Wars galaxy ) time of anything less than a year. A year is the absolute minimum, I found, that would justify Ezra ( and anyone else working with him ) or Sabine / Ahsoka finding a way *back to Peridea* or *back to the known SW galaxy*, respectively / these two meeting again through some hitherto unknown method sans purgills or the Eye of Scion - BUT I’m a poor writer at best, so my opinion doesn’t really matter.
-
1.2) Just further fleshing out this thought… It wouldn’t make sense ( at least to me, and it would absolutely break my suspension of disbelief otherwise ) to make getting to or back from Peridea *too* easy, given that a Jedi of Ezra’s caliber and a person with Thrawn’s supreme intellect and resourcefulness ( not to mention those creepy old ladies who were stuck there for much, *much* longer ) didn’t get to escape their exile until people got hold of an ancient artifact dating back thousands upon thousands of years, and ONLY because of some *really* evil-looking, old-ass magick got involved. 😬
-
1.3) Oh, and also… On top of that, Ezra and Sabine have things to settle first before finding their way back to each other… *Again*. Ezra has to deal with, well… Firstly, there HAS to be some sort of war that has to be fought against Thrawn, because anything less than that would make Xiono grin like an idiot at all the possibilities of what he’d be able to say to Hera… AND secondly, Sabine and Ahsoka would also have to deal with some kind of Force-*Mother/monster/whatever* that has to be the endgame of that scene with Baylan standing on those statues or we would be even more MEH to how MEH we already are at Dave’s writing. 😬
-
On whether Sabine gets to have a jetpack in Ahsoka S2 and how that could be contrived :
2.1) The only way that I could think of where that happens is if there are some Imperial-era Stormtrooper jetpacks ( if I’m not mistaken *some kinds* of elite Stormtroopers are equipped with jetpacks ( or am I confusing it with some non-canon memories I have from playing Star Wars Battlefront in the early 2000s? )) lying around in Peridea after either Thrawn’s ship or some other ISDs that were stranded there by the purgills in the immediate aftermath of the last ep of Rebels somehow dropped them in their 10 years there. 😬
-
2.2) …Which I wouldn’t put out of the realm of possibility *could* be present on the Chimaera given the presence of Praetorians on that ship at the time of its disappearance…

I’ve been meaning - rather, WANTING WITH A PASSION - to watch Andor for more than a year now, but I just can’t bring myself to push the ‘play’ button.
I know exactly why, too : I’m at the stage in my life where I’m dealing with SO MUCH *REAL* LIFE - the crushing weight, the grittiness, the stress, the ugliness, the rawness, the shittiness, the utter STRUGGLE of it all - that anything that resembles it *a bit too closely* compels me, inexorably, to avoid it… Or at least put it off, until such time when I get to a moment of respite ( hopefully in the near future ) where things are… less HECTIC and DRAINING.
Someday. Someday. 🤍
#andor#andor season 1#andor season 2#cassian andor#Good times will come#and I’ll finally be able to allow myself to watch this gem of a series#THE BEST THAT STAR WARS HAS TO OFFER! That’s what the critics are saying of Andor S2! Can’t wait to finally watch it!#Enjoy friends! 😊

Read on AO3: the one with all the sabezra metas
A few years ago, I watched the entirety of Star Wars Rebels for the first time, and, at the end of it, I was confused.
What exactly were Sabine and Ezra to each other?
So from Google, to YouTube, to Pinterest, to tumblr, I looked for the answer, and what I discovered was...there was no answer. Not a definitive one, at least.
There were certainly a lot of opinions! Strong ones! But no definitive answer. Nothing consistent, even from the writers and creators.
I had been of the ship persuasion - it seemed to me that even if a romance hadn't manifested itself yet by the end of Rebels, that it might someday; however, I was willing to let that go, to accept them as friends or pseudo-siblings, if someone had truly defined their relationship that way. No one had, and there were no arguments that convinced me of it either.
In investigating this ship, I also discovered that these various opinions had lead to a "ship war" - an aggressive feud between people who did and did not ship Sabine and Ezra during the run of the show. It was so bad then that even two-three years after the finale, people were still afraid to say anything positive about the ship or to associate themselves with shippers.
I wasn't ok with that. There was literally nothing wrong with the ship and no reason we shouldn't have been able to talk about it freely.
So as much for myself as for all of us, I started writing about why Sabezra made sense, about what in the show provided evidence for a romance between Sabine and Ezra. I figured that, if we could state observable facts or give reasonable explanations rather than opinions, if we could provide something more than flimsy shipping propaganda (such as "they're literally just standing next to each other" as shippers often are accused of when talking about their ships), then there would be no reason to attack us. If we could give valid reasons as to why Sabezra could or should be a thing, then we would have a leg to stand on without directly attacking or upsetting anyone else's viewpoint either. We could just sit around together and drink our apple juice and not worry about what anyone else thought.
And I think, or at least I hope, that it worked just a little alongside the passage of time, the aging of the fanbase, and the continuation of Sabine and Ezra's story in canon. In the last couple of years, our ship has grown and become more active, and if one person was ever encouraged to engage in this ship because of these essays, to stand by what they believed in, even when what we were talking about was a romance between two cartoon characters, then it was worth it.
So I just wanted to tell you why I wrote these posts or where these essays came from. There were other reasons I was so invested in it for so long, personal reasons (like wanting someone's friends-to-lovers situation see a happy ending), but this was the beginning of it.
I still believe that Sabezra is a good ship with a real basis in canon, that its strongest defense are the Kanera parallels, that "the sister line" doesn't undo all of the ship-building Rebels did in S3-4, and that, even if it's unlikely that Sabine and Ezra will ever have a canon romance, the idea of a romance built upon a solid friendship's foundation of trust, loyalty, and vulnerability is always worth writing about.
#sabezra#ezrabine#ezra x sabine#sabine x ezra#i agree!#firstly that this ship doesn’t have anything going against it#secondly that no ship should get people to hate each other just because they ship or don’t ship#i mean i don’t like or understand wolfwren dinwren and shinezra either but that doesn’t mean i feel the same about the people that do#ship and let ship as the saying goes#seleneisrising’s posts have been a major source of not just information but part of a framework on which i made my own work on#the one with all the sabezra metas#sabezra meta

Hera would have made a good Jedi!
i also think kanera works so well because hera arguably practices her own form of non-attachment. she’s able to understand kanans beliefs as a jedi because she herself also understands putting a duty to the galaxy above a single person or relationship, loving but accepting when you have to let them go- even and especially when it’s difficult. that’s how she’s able to leave him to save the crew in season 1, and why she’s so hesitant to risk everything to go back for him until they have a solid plan. just like when he rescued her in jedi knight, she knew how to see when her emotions clouded her judgement and to be careful of that

This post gives me so much confirmation and comfort 😅🥹
I’ve ranted and raved about how the Ahsoka show got Sabine wrong.
But what’s just as bad is how the Ahsoka show did Ezra dirty.
(I’ve generally overlooked it because a) Eman was such a perfect, 1:1 casting; and b) there’s so little of Ezra in that story that it wasn’t as noticeable. But that - too little Ezra - is part of the problem.)
#beautifully concise way to put this issue to words#hoping that it gets addressed in future media#seleneisrising’s post#thanks for the mention / comment 🥹🙏😊#i only now saw this post because i was off social media at the time#the thing that makes this hurt even more is… HOW? Dave literally created these two characters and he somehow fumbled#this is why some people say that Dave has his favorite character… And let’s just say it isn’t these two#BUT I REALLY HOPE NOT! come on Dave

It is so fascinating to see the difference in skill that 35 years of dedication and improvement makes!
The same artist made these two 35 years apart:

1750s Henry Robert Morland (British artist, 1716-1797) A Girl Ironing Shirt Sleeves

1785 Henry Robert Morland (British artist, 1716-1797) Laundry Maid Ironing
WHICH IS SO COOL and also shows the change of fashion.

Wow. AI is THIS advanced now? How anybody can do this and then pass it off as their work is beyond me.
Meanwhile, here I am, STILL making edits to my fic just to correct spelling, grammar, or phrasing ( and have been doing so for the entirety of the nearly 11-month hiatus I took before finally being able to release the ending )!
people using generative ai to write fanfiction for them is CRAZY. stay up until four in the morning hopping back and forth between your pinterest boards, a random synonyms website, and google docs where you’re stuck in the middle of a sentence deciding whether to refer to a character by their name or hair colour as the lord intended.
#anti ai#Getting better at something isn’t achieved by insulating yourself from failure and mistakes by using a crutch#It’s by FACING those failures and mistakes and owning up to them#Integrity is an unbelievably important thing that will get you through ANYTHING - BUT you have to stay true to the path.#NEVER more so than when nobody else is looking and you are accountable only to youself

Still one of the most satisfying redemption arcs ever put on screen!
When you stop and think about it Kallus betraying the Empire must've been massive
Like this is an ISB agent who has worked with the likes of Grand Moff Tarkin, Grand Admiral Thrawn, The Grand Inquisitor AND DARTH FUCKING VADER who's current mission on Lothol came directly from Emperor Palpatine
Bro was probably one away from working with the Emperor himself
There's no way there wasn't a ripple within the Imperial ranks
