Kikimora

A faint creak on the floor, a spoon falling off the table, a strange rustling from the corner... Does this sound familiar? You might have a kikimora - a mysterious spirit from old Slavic folklore - lurking in your home.
Legend says kikimoras are lost souls - unbaptized infants, suicides, or those who died under a curse. Sometimes, they were deliberately summoned into a house - a vengeful sorcerer could hide a cursed doll in the walls, and over time... it would come to life.
A kikimora’s form shifts like shadows in candlelight. One moment, she’s a crooked old lady wild, tangled hair, the next - a pale girl with hollow eyes, or even a hairy, clawed creature with glowing eyes, tiny horns, and a flicking tail. Most of the time, she’s invisible, but her presence gives chills - missing objects, sudden cold spots, and whispers in the dark.
By day, she hides behind the stove, under the threshold, or in dark corners - but when night falls, the mischief begins:
Tangling yarn like a spiteful prank
Knocking over pots to startle the household
Pinching and choking sleepers, leaving bruises
Stealing hair from people and fur from livestock
The worst kikimoras could drive families to abandon their homes. And if someone accidentally saw her? Bad luck followed - sickness, death, or a curse upon the whole family.

um guys, I think we need to stop waiting for ‘the right time’ and just start doing the things we want whenever because the right time’s never gonna come, and if we keep waiting it’s just gonna turn into an endless cycle

i think the western world has made us so caught up on having a purpose and finding it for our whole entire lives. some indigenous cultures believe we’re alive and here just as trees and animals are: to be here and to beautiful and strange, to simply just be. we don’t need to achieve anything to be valid in our humanness.

Personally I hate AI because it uses slave labor, is killing the planet and is making people stupid, but that's just me. The soulless art aspect is just one little piece of my grander disdain.

aside from being there for yourself and loving yourself, it’s also important to recognize your mistakes and own up to them, apologize to the people you’ve hurt or been toxic to, and be aware of your faults so you can work on them. self love is not ‘knowing that you’re better and succeeding in your quest for perfection’. you have to be able to realize that you’re not always the best you can be and that’s okay, as long as you do learn from it and stay kind and humble to yourself and your surroundings.

propaganda a lot of y’all should fall for:
whispering “thanku” to your tea or coffee before the first sip.
telling your friends you love them when they least expect it. especially then.
googling “what kind of flower blooms twice” at 3 a.m. to feel hopeful again
deleting apps every two weeks and calling it a spiritual reset.
naming your plants like they’re ur friends. apologizing when you forget to water them.
believing ur younger self would still think you’re cool. even on your worst days.
using perfume before bed. for no one. for you.
making eye contact with yourself in the mirror when you cry. giving the pain an audience.
taking selfies when you feel awful. proof you existed even when the light wasn’t flattering :-)
