is it wrong that i actually liked the way the show is handling will’s pining storyline? allow me to explain: it feels so real to me, i cried for the character because i relate to his situation on such a personal level. i was in love with my best friend since i was 12, my feelings for her didn’t leave until i was 18. she’s heterosexual, i’m (obviously) not and i had to sit there with her, give her relationship advice and encouragement for every guy she ever had any amount of interest in. i had to watch her fall in and out of love with people, and hide my feelings behind my encouragement because i knew my feelings would destroy our friendship and that i would be coming out to her at the cost of losing her. it was painful, it was traumatizing and it made me miss out on so many teenaged experiences because i was so hung up on her and wishing, hoping that one day she’d change her mind about me.
will’s storyline is the most heart wrenching, to me, this show has ever had because while he didn’t have the coming out so many people wanted, he is representing so many closeted, hurting kids that go through this regularly, that are living his situation. and unfortunately, life doesn’t work out the way fandoms want it to. in real life, you confess and 98% of the time, they don’t feel the same and your friendship is destroyed. and that’s in MODERN time, let alone the 80s when being anything other than heterosexual was demonized and stereotyped. will has every right to be scared, to not be ready, to not outright say he’s gay because he doesn’t know what will happen afterwards. he doesn’t know if he’ll be accepted or if his best friends will be weird around him and not want him around anymore. and let’s face it, a kid like mike in the 80s, would definitely be the type to make gay jokes and be a little homophobic. obviously they can’t portray that in the show because he’s a main character but, if I was will? I’d genuinely believe mike would be grossed out by my sexuality. I would not feel comfortable coming out to mike in general, let alone if I had feelings for him. to make matters worse, they’re like 14-15 years old? if mike was going to be uneducated and small minded at any point in life, it’d be around that age and I’m saying that from experience, my old best friend was insanely homophobic around that age and stayed that way until we were 17-ish. not too mention, they’re also from a small, obviously religious town? and probably had little to no interaction with lgbt+ people as a result? at least not any that were out of the closet. i mean, even robin, she came out when coming down from a high and you can’t even say it was because she was confident or comfortable with steve, it was obvious in her coming out scene that she was waiting for him to become upset with her. she expected a bad reaction at first. now, she’s older than will, has had more time to explore her sexuality and figure herself out, and still, she was nervous and it took all of that for her to say something. imagine will, so young and frightened and insecure, surrounded by zero support (he didn’t get jonathan’s until vol 2 and even that was more of a generalized ‘I’ll always be here’ type) and in love with his best friend. that’s fucking terrifying and when in that position, you feel like the entire world is against you and like somethings just wrong with you.
say what you want about the duffer bros writing, but they captured that feeling of helplessness, internalized hatred and pain perfectly. they took into account the situation, the background and the character, and although it wasn’t what anyone (even myself) was expecting or wanted, it was spot on. i felt like i was watching a version of myself on the screen, it took me back and made me feel like I was watching someone live part of my personal story. i sobbed like a baby at will’s van scene and at mileven’s confession, seeing him there, hearing what mike had to say, I LIVED that shit and noah and the duffer bros hit me harder than any other piece of media ever has. it was a punch in the gut and I applaud them for showing us the hard to swallow part of someone’s coming out. that’s what will is going through at the end of the season, and I have no doubt that they will turn it around and show us the closure that comes after in the next season. the letting go, the picking yourself up and realizing you’re worth more, that you deserve better. I have a strong feeling that’s where will’s story is headed and I love it. furthermore, there’s no way they didn’t know the backlash and anger they’d get for portraying it this way, especially considering pride month just ended. but they still bit the bullet and risked losing tons of viewers to portray the bitter, frustrating and cruel part of both having feelings for your best friend and struggling with your sexuality as a young teen. that takes guts and tells me that they have a plan for where will is going, that they aren’t just winging it and giving us unrealistic outcomes for a situation that is so much deeper than that and comes with so many emotions and fears. that they aren’t taking will’s sexuality at face value and tossing a half hearted happy ending in his direction just to please viewers. that they’re actually dedicated to writing a nuanced, tough to swallow, hard to watch plot that I don’t doubt will end in a much better way than people are assuming. we are seeing a vital piece of cinema history starting to play out, and i know this will go on to be the performance of noah’s life.
it isn’t poor writing or queer baiting, they’re setting us up for something so much bigger than that. and so much better than what we were expecting this season. mark my words, season five will be the most amazing performance noah and finn have ever put on, and whether it ends in mike accepting will’s feelings or not, doesn’t fucking matter because it’s not about him. it’s not about byler. it’s not about ships or what actor says what. it’s about a kid struggling to accept himself and his feelings, and pulling himself out and away from internalized homophobia, understanding what he’s worth and finding the confidence to come out on his own time and his own terms. that’s what it’s about. that scene, about being a mistake, watch it come around in full circle with will in season five, accepting that he is not a mistake and that NO ONE, not even mike, can make him feel that way because HE knows who he is and HE loves himself enough to not care anymore.
so yeah, that’s my take and how I feel about the way the season ended. feel free to tell me I’m wrong but, I have more faith in where this is going and I really think it’s going to end beautifully. I loved the plot, I loved the build up, I loved the teasing and pining and pain. it sent me back to my early teenaged years. and while he didn’t officially come out this season, they’re definitely building it up to be huge in the next.

So, everyone is aware of Scream 5 supposedly being in the ropes, right?
Well,
Let me just say,,,,
If Dewey motherfucking Riley isn’t revealing to have been in on it the entire time, I’m going to get upset. I understand that he’s the fandom’s ‘dumbass bab’, but the theory of Dewey being in on the murders is too good to continuously be passed up by hollywood. Sheriff Dewey has been the scapegoat this entire time; all of the near-death experiences conveniently in front of witnesses (especially Gale), the fact that he’s always at the right place at the right time, the fucking ghostface in the market and his whole ‘looking after tatum and sidney’ thing, the fact that he’s OBVIOUSLY still in love with Sidney despite being married to Gale (don’t you dare tell me he isn’t making heart eyes at her in every movie, man), and how he’s always there right at the end when the killers are revealed and always finds a convenient way to stay in the background or get hurt during the final scene.
This man is in on it. Or maybe he was just in on the first killing spree; it would make sense that he attempted to get Gale away from the scene at the perfect time and brought her into the house as a whole ass distraction for Tatum’s death. He didn’t even bat an eye when she died!
Plus he shows up at the college campus right as the second killing spree begins, is conveniently at the Hollywood set and practically living with one of the potential future victims. Had the perfect chance to kill ghostface multiple times but somehow always ‘misses’ as if by pure luck of the killer (letting Roman get away), ect...
He could have been the scapegoat for the first murders and has been trying to keep his secret ever since, via showing up at every murder spree and doing his own search for the killer (a.k.a making sure it’s not someone who knows too much)
He even denied Gale access to information in Scream 4 and seemed more set on finding the killer than ever. This could be him being paranoid, thinking that it had to be someone else who was around back then and knew it was him. Why else would he suddenly tell Gale to back off? He’s always included her before then, but now he’s got a lot more to lose. (i.e he’s now a respected sheriff, good citizen and well liked and pitied by all of woodsboro. he’s the picture perfect person in town.)
I have a lot more to say about this but like,
to put it simply,
DEWEY RILEY BETTER BE REVEALED AS THE SCAPEGOAT IN SCREAM 5

can we talk about renesmee?
this has been bugging me for a while and i don’t see a lot of posts about it, which frustrates me to no end.
renesmee was created solely so jacob could get a happy ending, and that’s disgusting. from someone who was sexually abused as a child, i can’t sit and watch the breaking dawn movies without skipping over every single scene that involves jacob ‘babysitting’ or being near baby renesmee because it’s just too uncomfortable for me. and i have no idea how hollywood or publishers let that plot line go.
maybe to some, the idea of your ‘true love’ being your first love and waiting for someone is romantic, but not when it’s a child and a full grown adult. renesmee is a baby, no matter how fast she grows, she’s a literal child and to make matters worse, is being groomed into loving only jacob romantically from a young age by the ‘power’ of imprinting. she never got a choice when it came to love interests, because really, if jacob hadn’t imprinted on her as a baby, would she still grow up to be ‘in love’ with him? probably not. and to make matters worse, jacob is always around her as a child, always with her. do any of the cullens find this unsettling at all? rosalie, a survivor of a brutal sexual assault, shows no concern throughout the movie. edward cullen, the father of this baby, is perfectly fine with the plan to have jacob run away with her if all else fails. even bella, after the initial ‘fight’ scene, seems to have let it go, for the most part. carlisle, esme, jasper, emmett, alice...nobody shows signs of concern when it comes to this ‘bond’, (i will be damned before i call it a relationship.) of sorts. now, i’m not saying that they should be concerned about jacob abusing this privilege in anyway, i personally don’t think that jacob would ever do anything to harm renesmee especially as a child. but it’s still concerning when you realize, that this grown man will one day find this chid sexually attractive and is just waiting until she’s (hopefully, but i wouldn’t doubt if they allowed a relationship earlier) eighteen to start a romantic and intimate relationship.
not only that, but renesmee’s excuse of “being part vampire so she grows faster” is obviously just so nobody finds this revolting. and this trait makes her a tragic character, if you think about it, because renesmee will never have a ‘normal’ childhood. by the end of the movies, she’s already around 8-9 years old physically, meaning that, she’s already missed out on half of her schooling and hasn’t been able to socialize with any children her age. she grew up too fast to enjoy cartoons, dolls, imaginary friends and every other joy that comes with a childhood. that is, if we’re to assume that she continues to age like that after the movies have ended. to make matters worse, even her mental age seems to be progressing at a concerning degree, she’s obviously very wise for a kid her age, being able to approach aro with calmness and grace. not too mention, all of this mental progression has happened during a time of war. she practically grew up watching people spar and talk of plans to destroy the volturi, whilst also knowing full well that the volturi are after her. imagine, all of the necessary growth that happens in your childhood years, happening with all of this going on.
she’ll also never experience what other people get to, most likely. growing so fast, elementary school and middle school are out of the question. she’ll never know what it’s like to have a shy boy ask her to dance at a school formal, or what it’s like to make friends on the playground and the excitement that comes with class pets, ice cream days, girl scouts ect... she’ll never get to a point and be able to figure her sexuality out on her own, or find out what she likes in people and doesn’t like. because everything has been programmed to be jacob by that point. she’ll never get to feel the butterflies of that one person asking her to homecoming or the nauseating but beautiful nerves that come with a first date, because she’s known jacob all her life, so why be nervous to begin with? and why say yes to the boy with the sweet smile asking you to homecoming, when you’re programmed to believe that it’ll ‘break jake’s heart’? she’ll never get to make friends the same way we do, because there’s that caution that comes with being half vampire. and who knows if she’ll even be able too, seeing as her age progression makes it hard for her to stay at one solid age for too long?
she’ll experience everything that we do in eighteen years, in what? five? six? seven? that, to me, is heartbreaking. even if she’s just a character, we’re meant to feel for them and to care about them, and yet, all i’ve ever felt for her was pity. pity for a childhood that she’ll never get to have. pity for milestones that she’ll never get to experience. pity for the choice and freedom that was stripped from her before she was even able to know what those things are. she was branded an imprint before she could develop a personality, morals, standards. before she could develop her orientation and decide what she wanted for herself. all because smeyer wanted to give jake a happy ending. but what about nessie’s? would this girl want any of this, if she were old enough to understand and WASN’T bound to him by imprint? we all know that she won’t ever have a choice in the matter, because now it’s either, be with jake or suffer with depression and a slowly deteriorating health (if imprinting is the same as a vampires’ mate bond, which we were lead to believe) like bella once had. which will be even harder on her because she was always with jake growing up. it wasn’t a short time period like bella and edward, it was her entire life, so who’s to say separation wouldn’t be worse on her?
all in all, renesemee is the saddest character in twilight, simply because she never had a choice.

i was just talking to my friend about the twilight renaissance, this is how it went.
me; on a rant about how twilight is actually pretty good and full of meme worthy moments, while admitting that i still despise some portrayals of female characters (thanks for ruining leah’s life) and the lack of chemistry between a lot of the mains. also lowkey praising our lesbian icon alice cullen.
my friend;....yeah, but edward staring at her at night is still creepy.
and, you know what? i agree. years later, it’s still really fucking creepy. what the actual fuck, stephenie?

lore olympus
what I want to happen;
minthe finally opens her eyes to her mistreatment of hades (fully) and admits that she is simply burdened by her own insecurities and afraid of the public, because she knows that they will never deem her a worthy ‘queen’. she seeks help in persephone, wishing to apologize for what she did to her and to start anew,
not for hades; for herself.
persephone and minthe bond over insecurities and the trauma that they’ve endured/caused, and slowly, but surely, a beautiful friendship comes into play because both women are deserving of love (once minthe owns up and personally apologizes to hades and starts treating people right) and neither should be antagonized simply because they love the same man.
hades and minthe agree to start fresh and minthe begins to treat hades with just as much respect as he gives her and they do regain their spark.
at the same time, minthe becomes less jealous of persephone and a crush blossoms for the petite pink goddess.
apollo gets exactly what he fucking deserves.
eros and aphrodite make up, in return, he’s allowed to be with psyche again.
hera kicks zeus to the fucking curb and bitch slaps thetis.
demeter accepts that her daughter is growing into her own person and artemis doesn’t get into trouble for everything that went down under her roof.
demeter beats the shit out of apollo.
hermes beats the shit out of apollo.
artemis beats the shit out of apollo.
eros beats the shit out of apollo.
hera sets her big boi son hephaestus (who deserves screen time plssss) on apollo and then beats him up, as well.
minthe beats the shit out of apollo.
hades sets cerberus on apollo.
the ending of queen persephone that we see is not exactly what it seems; persephone and hades do get together and are very much in love, and she becomes his queen happily. but, it’s a poly relationship with a newly stable, sober and truly confident minthe who simply doesn’t want to be in the limelight because of what it did to her, beforehand. she’s no longer on speaking terms with thetis and is treated like the goddess that she deserves to be by hades and persephone, and she has never felt more grateful and cared for in her entire life. in turn, she is gentle with hades and persephone and gives them nothing short of her entire heart, no more games. she helps persephone with moral support, especially now that she’s queen, because she understands and relates to the struggles of being in the public eye, and is always there to lend a hand to hades when he’s pulled back into his dark thoughts; no longer being someone that encourages them and rather, helps him embrace who he was born as and who he is today alongside persephone.
the poly three live happily ever after
what I know is going to happen;
minthe (probably) doesn’t own up to her actions and continues to whine and treat hades badly until, eventually, he leaves her.
artemis gets into a bunch of trouble with demeter and the goddesses of eternal maidenhood.
hera stays with zeus.
minthe stays a bad guy and probably teams up with apollo at some point.
we never see big boi hephaestus ;n;
persephone and hades become queen and king of the underworld, and minthe is (most likely) banished (or turned into mint).
