The best advice i can give any creator is do it before you're good at it, do it BEFORE you're happy, do it while you suck, do it while you're doubting yourself and get stuck the fuck in, because waiting around to be "good enough" is a motherfucking trap of the highest degree. You'll get good along the way and better after ever project is complete. Remember, this is the greatest thing you've ever created, and then you'll do something else. You're only ever gonna get better, but not if you stand still.

I was wondering about what the name of Jinu’s tiger might be. So, I thought it would be cute if they were named Miso (미소) since it means “smile” in Korean.

And then the bird is named Jangan (장난) since it means “joke,” “prank,” and “mischief” and the bird seems to be a bit mischievous with how it repeatedly steals the hat Jinu made for Miso (the tiger).

I saw someone ask about if there was a particular thought process to the names I gave the other Saja Boys, which I did for all four of them, and I thought it’d be too much to fit into one comment. So, I’m making a post about it.

Well, to start Beomseok (범석) translates to “pattern” and “model” with Beom (범) and then Seok (석) means “rock” and “stone”. And I wanted him to have a strong name since he is primarily known as the one with rock-hard abs, so having a hangal character that translates to “rock” and “stone” felt very fitting. Added with the first hangal character meaning pattern which can reference the fact that underneath he has demon patterns. And also model, which he can be seen as being attractive and fit like a model. It can also mean “everyone flourishes” which felt like a little reference to the demons’ plan of flourishing by taking Huntrix’s fan base and weakening the Honmoon. There is also my headcanon of him being the "rock" to the other Saja Boys (mostly Jinu) and being the one who grounds all of them and eases tension amongst them. Which just added to the wanting his name to have the meaning of "rock" in it.

Next, Jae-Hyun (재현), I had the idea initially for him to have a two-part name, with him going by a nickname. And, I liked the name "Jae" the most as a nickname that he would use. The meanings of the hangel characters Jae (재) and Hyun (현) helped me pick it. Jae (재) can mean "talent" and "ability" as well as "excellence". And Hyun (현) can mean "dazzling" and "bright". The name as a whole can translate to "worthy talent" or "shining ability" which felt fitting for a flirty pretty romantic who was part of a successful boyband. His name is more of a reference to his ability as a singer and member of the Saja Boys, but it is also the professional name of a South Korean singer (Jeong Yun-o, also known as Jaehyun) who is also one of the most impactful fashion ambassadors from South Korea and is known for his fashion sense, and I kind of had the idea of Jae being the one who designs the costumes and makeup for the other boys. So, it felt like a good reference to that aspect of his character.

And now, Daeun (다은), I wanted from the beginning for him to have a simple, cute-sounding name to match his babyface and cuter appearance, but for it to also be a bit deceiving due to his contrasting personality (I imagine him as being THE menace of the group). So, I looked at a lot of simple Korean names and considered a few options, until I came across the name Daeun. It is a name that is unisex, but the name's meaning is often associated with feminine qualities, which I felt would be another semi-subverted aspect of it since he is also the one with the deepest voice when he raps and that is not the voice you would expect to hear out of the mouth of a babyfaced character. The hangal characters Da (다) and Eun (은) can fully translate together as meaning "many graces" or "great kindness". His name as a whole is kind of meant to be a subversion of sorts of his actual personality, but it also lines up with his relationship with the other Saja Boys as being a genuinely good one.

And then there's Garam (가람). I wanted to give him a name that kind of stood out amongst the other names of the Saja Boys, since he is labeled at the "mysterious" one of the group. And him sticking out for the physical trait of his hair covering most of his face and rarely speaking outside of when he sings. So, I looked around at some more unique Korean names, until I found the name Garam (가람) meaning "river", which is a pure-Korean word and is also used as a name for boys and girls. Then, I looked at how his hair looks to be a light blue-gray color, similar to the color of water and it felt like it was fitting that his name related to water in some way. And it also could be a reference to where he might've lived before becoming a demon and joining the Saja Boys.

not to be a demon apologist and excuse the whole soul-eating thing but it was honestly so cute and sweet when the saja boys got the hometown hero treatment from the rest of the demons, they were SO proud of them like when someone from a tiny town becomes famous and then the entire town comes out to celebrate them when they come home

also very funny to me that celine and the huntrix girls spent most of the movie saying DEMONS ARE EVIL AND MUST BE DESTROYED and then the demons in question were just having a concert in the underworld and listening to soda pop on repeat and waving light sticks

"With the boys, one artist handled the three looks, costume-wise. When we first see them, we really wanted this bubble gum pop, very saccharine, super sweet look. The middle one is very brief, you see it right before they turn dark. And for the end, I really wanted them to look like the iconic Grim Reaper with the hat which is much more traditional. It has been done in K-pop before, but only because that is a traditional Korean look. We also tried to light them in more of a silhouette, because the hat is such an iconic thing. We just wanted to show the polar opposites of what a boy group could be."

It just occurred to me that “Soda Pop” is literally about the demons wanting to drink the souls of the fans to feed themselves. It’s like very on the nose if you look at the lyrics carefully.

Like, did Jinu have to write a song (because let’s face it he’s the most likely songwriter out of the five) about food so that the other four are motivated or something???

Jinu: So we’ll need a debut song in order to get the Saja Boys on the center stage. Perhaps something parallel to Huntr/x so it hurts more when-

Baby: I’m bored!!!

Mystery: When can when get souls!

Abs: Let’s write a song about food!

Romance: Yeah! Food!

Saja Boys Minus Jinu: FOOD! FOOD! FOOD!

Jinu: …

Jinu: You know that might just work.
