Change
When the world is cold and dark;
Seemingly in greyscale
I feel that pit of fire within me
And while unpleasant now— it is my fuel
Burning brighter each day
I share this burn with others
And united we create a bonfire
Enveloping the souls around us with warmth;
Providing light to those who have none
For what is darkness, but an absence of light
What is cold, but an absence of heat
What is greyscale, but an absence of colour
We are the light, the heat, the colour
And together we illuminate a path
Prior to the end of the tunnel

“When you go out into the woods, and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree. The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying ‘You are too this, or I’m too this.’ That judgment mind comes in. And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.”

The universe doesn’t punish, it allows.
And why does it allow?
To experience everything.
To know itself.
You’re a mirror of that.
Every interaction, every thought, every experience you have, you’re feeding back into the universe. You’re feeding the universe its own meaning. To know.
I think about this far too much. It comes up in reflective conversation often. Every interaction I have is a moment of interacting with something great than just myself. The universe sees through me, hears through me, loves through me, hurts through me, tastes too much ice cream on weds AND thurs through me. All over. To know. To know. To know.
You’re reflecting what it wants to see. What it wants to learn through. You’re so powerful and you don’t even realize. I want to show it how I can heal more than I can show it my hurt, that’s for sure.
How can you take care of the universe today?
