Klance Long Distance AU

Keith and Lance met in high school at Garrison High, and began dating in their junior year.

In their Freshman and Sophomore year, they were constantly at each other’s necks, but then realized they actually just wanted to out do the other to impress them.

Therefore, they finally started dating.

After their senior year, the two were forced to split up due to the fact that they got into different colleges.

Keith went to Mamora College, while Lance went to University of Voltron.

The two didn’t let their distance keep them apart. They skyped almost every day, and would take turns once a month to visit their partner.

Skype calls!!

Lance and Keith would skype almost every day, aka, whenever they didn’t have a paper due or anything like that. On weekends where they weren’t visiting each other, they would end up calling super late, the conversations going until 2 or 3 am frequently.

One time, as Lance was rambling on about something that happened in school that day, Keith ended up falling asleep, his head on his desk, snoring quietly. Lance found it so adorable that he screenshotted it and made it his phone background, which he uses to tease and blackmail Keith to this day.

Visits!!

Though their visits were a bit rare, they were always super fun for Lance and Keith. Though Skype calls were nice to get them through the month, they were nothing compared to being in person.

Keith’s trip to Lance

When Keith visits Lance at his university, he is often roped into a game night with Lance’s roommate, Hunk. It was very fun for Lance and Hunk, and Keith pretended to not have fun, but he loved it. Lance could tell easily because Keith would occasionally let a laugh or smile slip.

After game night, if it wasn’t too late and Keith wasn’t too tired from the trip, the two would stay up late watching movies. The movies varied from rom coms (Lance’s favorites) to action movies. The two would often be found cuddling together as they watched, Lance usually leaning against Keith as Keith mindlessly played with Lance’s hair.

After the movie, the two would end up falling asleep in the same position.

Lance’s trip to Keith

Since Keith was lucky enough to have gotten a dorm to himself (his school was small), Lance and Keith got more alone time together there. They would usually just get a bunch of snacks and then talk or do other things, a movie often playing in the background. This is usually when Lance catches Keith up on everything that had happened to him. Keith always loved that part since he absolutely loved Lance’s voice.

Sometimes, if Keith made a snarky remark, Lance would throw something like a piece of popcorn at his face. Occasionally that would lead to Keith tackle hug Lance and pin him down as he tickled him.

Once it got late, the two would climb in bed together, and fall asleep as close as possible.

As time went on, Keith slowly realized how much he loved Lance. He slowly came to the conclusion that Lance was The One™️

Lance was visiting Keith one weekend. It was quite close to the end of the school year. Keith had everything prepared. He had the ring, he had the date planned. Everything was perfect.

It was a few hours after Lance had arrived…

“Hey, um, Lance? Can I, er, take you somewhere?” Keith asked Lance, his fingers nervously twitching. Lance raised an eyebrow.

“Wow, stuttering? Something wrong?” Lance asked, a bit taken back by the awkwardness of Keith’s speech.

“No! Not at all. Just come with me, okay?” Keith said. He took Lance’s hand and lead him out. Keith wandered to a very nearby park, holding Lance’s hand tightly.

Once they got there, the scene was beautiful. Keith took Lance to a small gazebo, overlooking a quiet pond. The sun was slowly beginning to set, making everything a bit of a gold color. Keith walked into the gazebo with Lance. “Pretty, right?” Keith asked.

“Yeah! It’s gorgeous!” Lance agreed happily, smiling a bit as he admired the view. With Lance’s back turned to him, Keith slowly got down on one knee and brought out the ring.

He opened the box as he said quietly, “Lance…”

Lance turned around and instantly gasped, his face going a bit of a red color. “Keith…! I-I… what are you doing?”

“Look, I know we’re young, I get it. But I don’t want to wait any longer. I love you so much and I know there is nobody else out there that I could ever love more than you. Lance, you are the one for me. Always will be. I love you so much. I know we’re gone through a lot, and it’s tough, but I know we will get through it. Together. So Lance McClain, will you make me the happiest man on Earth and marry me?”

Klance Soulmate AU

Basically, at the age of 10, you obtain the ability where whenever you write on yourself or get a visible injury like a bruise or scrape, it appears on your soulmate as well.

Keith, being older, obtains the ability first

- He’s not really into the whole soulmate thing, but he does get hurt frequently.

- He gets frequent bruises that also appear on Lance.

- Lance learned about the ability early in his life, and was always excited to have it as he was growing up.

- The mysterious bruises made the almost-10-year-old boy very excited, but also anxious because he couldn’t write on himself yet to talk with his soulmate.

- The day Lance turned 10 he instantly started writing furiously to Keith.

- Keith was super surprised but the sudden start of the writing. Again, not being so into the soul mate stuff, he wrote back infrequently and in small sentences.

- Lance never got frustrated, he was way too excited.

-Little did they know that they were in the same town, simply attending different schools.

As time goes on, Keith slowly becomes more fond of Lance.

-They both learned a lot about each other: the names, ages, favorite things to do, etc.

- Keith slowly started replying to Lance more and more, until he got secretly excited whenever he saw Lance’s message.

- Lance was always flirty towards Keith, starting around age 12. Keith always made snarky responses, but he secretly loved the attention.

Around age 13, Keith finally got the courage to ask for Lance’s number and social media.

Keith: So, uh, do you have Snapchat or something?

Lance: Yeah!! Do you?

Keith: Yeah. What’s your username?

Keith: Lancey Lance…?

Lance: Yeah! My nickname! Anyway, what’s your username?

Keith: Stupid place called Garrison High. My older brother went there so my parents are forcing me to go.

Lance: WAIT

Lance: The Garrison????

Lance: No way

Lance: I’m going there!

Keith subsequently starts freaking out. He desperately asks Shiro, his older brother who is going to be a senior this year, for advice.

Keith: SHIRO OHMYGOD

Keith: YOU KNOW LANCE?? MY SOULMATE

Keith: HES GOING TO THE GARRISON

Keith: SHIRO IM NOT READY FOR THIS

-Shiro just tells him to relax and be himself, and Lance would like him just the same.

It’s the first day of high school for both of them, and both are crazy nervous

- Keith is anxiously doodling on his hand at breakfast, trying to distract himself when he gets a snapchat from Lance.

Lance: Dude can you stop? My hand looks insane. I know you’re nervous and all, but chill.

Keith: Shit, I forgot it shows on you. I’m sorry.

Lance: It’s fine. It’s kinda cute anyway.

Finally the two of them get to school. On the way there, the two decide a meeting point.

Keith walked into the school, his hands shaking a bit. He was so nervous that he could feel his heart pounding. He checked the time and figured he had some time to kill before meeting Lance. He headed over to his locker and opened it, putting books in that he didn’t currently need.

As he closed the locker door and took a step back, he bumped into somebody behind him. The person dropped a couple of their books, and Keith instantly bent down to help them. “I’m so sorry…” he muttered, “I shouldn’t have gotten in your way.”

“It’s okay! No big deal,” they replied. As Keith began reaching for the last book, he bumped his hand into the other’s.

“Oh, so-“ Keith began to apologize again before noticing the design on the person’s hand that matched his own. The other person seemed to realize this as well and they quickly looked up at each other at the same time.

Keith recognized his face well. The dark hair and deep eyes from the snapchat pictures. He was even more beautiful in real life than in the snaps. “Lance…?”
