The Swan Whisperer - I have never dared to get that close to a swan, and certailnly not to a whole gang. Everybody living close to water knows that these beast can be pretty moody at times. Yet, this fella shows no fear. With a bag full of dry bread he befriended this swan-army, its youngsters and even several seagulls circling above the scene. What a day! Beautiful weather and summer temperatures on the island of Hydra, while it's snowing in Germany... Heated up by the sun, the water in the bay of Mandraki offers a fantastic refreshment at 20 °C. Protected by surrounding land, mainly the peninsula of Attica, the waters here are calm and clear. Also, because the shores mainly consist of gravel and rocks, and not of sand and mud. Côte Sauvage - the "wild coast" of Bretagne is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. When noone is around, you can only hear the Ocean violantly crushing its waves into the brittle cliffs, just like for the million years before. The cliffs of Etretat in Normandie are always worth a visit. This is the other direction comapred to the picture before. In the background you can see the beach and town of Étretat and up on the hill there's a war memorial. Sadly we only could get there during high noon so the light was a challenge. [English below] Die Tiengener Stadtpfarrkirche Maria Himmelfahrt ist eines der ältesten Gebäude von Tiengen. Erbaut wurde die Barockkirche in den Jahren 1753 bis 1755 von Peter Thumb, einem bekannten Rokoko-Baumeister, der in Südbaden, im Schwarzwald, im Elsass, in Oberschwaben, am Bodensee und in der Schweiz tätig war. Bei Ausgrabungen 1967/68 fand man auf dem Kirchenbuck zudem römisches Mauerwerk, vermutlich die Überreste eines Wachturmes. Der Kirchturm ist aus fast jedem Winkel der Tiengener Altstadt zu sehen, hier von der Ecke Korn- und Turmgasse, mit Blick auf die Galerie zur Glocke. .
