Reminder to everyone in school to back up your files on school Google accounts in literally any way unlike me because I just experienced my own personal burning of the library of Alexandria. I lost what I had of my script for houkago hero, thank god I didn't get very far, it would've been so over if I'd been over halfway through chapter 2. On a more personal note I lost my most involved story I've ever written that was like 25 pages long and had a conlang manual and I never would've known if I hadn't gone to translate houkago hero just now.

New Pinned! Happy two years of Gopher Scans!
FInally, my high school passion project has come to an end. And so I make a new pinned post.
Welcome to the blog of Gopher Scans, a one man team run by Cali (AKA Gopherenjoyer). I mainly translate BL and BL-centric stories, but I make an exception for Nozomi Uda because her work holds a special place in my heart. It all comes down to my whims, really.
Feel free to send asks about anything you want.
Currently, my next plans are to translate "Houkago Hero", Nozomi's first manga from 2011. After that, I can finally probably move on to my main goal from the very beginning (from when I was just 15 qwq) , "Boku no Tonari ni Ankoku Hakaishin ga Imasu" (A Destructive God Sits Next to Me).
I've long since graduated from school, so uploads shouldn't be extremely delayed, but who knows. Hoping to keep to more of a schedule in the coming series, so I don't have 4 month gaps between chapters...
My original uploads all go on Mangadex FIRST, anything else second. Ask me first (if real people reupload scanlations lol) if you want to reupload on another site. I don't love other sites, but I will probably release my chapters on the other two of the big three just so I can release them before my credits page gets scrubbed off of them.

Ok so it should be going up. Soon? I hope. Surely the mangadex manual review queue isn't that full... I ended up having a friend upload it for me, and of course, it worked perfectly fine for him. I think I'm just cursed.
Edit: it's up now! Yay!
I love mangadex and definitely haven't experienced my first problem with it for the first time in two years. I definitely haven't been stuck trying to upload the second half of the last chapter, the final thing i have to upload, for 4 hours. I'm fine. I'm great. I'm not mad at all. 🙂.

And there it is, the end of my high school passion project... sad to see it go, but, well, it's been two years now. Happy two years to Gopher Scans o7. And goodbye Sano-kun.
As for what I'm working on next, i scheduled a new pinned post for later today, so it'll be there.

Oh yeah, if anyone's wondering about Houkago Hero, I've had the first chapter fully completed and sitting in my drive since... August of last year, so whenever that goes out, it's gonna look drastically different from all the other chapters because I changed up my style so much between then and now... also I misread a character's name and I only realized it within the past 6 months. RIP. At least the script is surprisingly good.
#but yeah thatll be uhhh. a while from now probably. want to work on stuff for my other groups.. lock in on ototrip reload tl..#it's miraculous to be a founding member of a scan group.. but it's also like trying to keep a fire going because you never know#if everyone will suddenly just disappear into thin air and never speak again. that happened to the first group i ever joined.#houkago hero
