I forget sometimes that this is technically the same character from two completely different scripts.

Originally, Blessed Be the Wicked was supposed to be centered on Stockholm syndrome. “The Tyrant” started off as a joke name, used by proxies to refer to this guy they kept on a leash, forcing him to do horrible things. But the whole concept never sat right with me, it got stale fast, and I just stopped giving a shit. Honestly, I’m relieved we never uploaded the first two episodes. I hate that early footage with everything in me.

I only wrote it out of boredom. I was too focused on incorporating my drawing style at 20 into the story rather than leaning into my actual writing strengths.

What I love is character driven storytelling. Over the past year, I’ve had the chance to really flesh things out and create something I’m proud of. I wanted it to feel more personal, raw, and unapologetic with its violence without going into straight splatterpunk. Sure, there’s still plenty of graphic content and scenes that’ll probably get me backlash, but every bit of it serves the story. I’m just glad I took the time to dig in and make something valuable, instead of locking these characters into the kind of lazy, hollow narrative I can’t stand and almost committed to. Baseline advice: dont fucking trust your first draft. I was 20 when I started and I was a moron for trying with that first version.
