JUST NOW: wkcr reported from the west lawn that students had begun re-erecting tents, and i found this tweet saying students have now been given permission to have tents again, after their tent encampment on the east lawn was swept on the 18th. i have a feeling columbia's admins are trying to put a bandaid over the bullet hole of mass arresting their own students for having tents on a lawn. optics are important to these universities, especially as admitted students are coming for visits.
