I'm pretty stoked on how I did this monkey music box after doing some Pinterest fun which some of my folks said that it look so cute,I do the ottoman look for the Persian robes for that monkey ,of course I took an idea from Fruits Basket when they have a little cupboard space where the memories of Kyo and Tohru,I showcase my Raoul and Christine memories with these frames alongside with the picture of Christine adoptive father which I modelled after Josh Piterman (who gonna do his proper run as Phantom after this Covid nonsense that is explicit which is not part of the Raoulstine week),Contrasting with the monkey that tied Raoul and Christine together,I put the white sage and abalone which represents the indigenous custom of smudging in showing that this Christine showing more of her indigenous heritage to her children,She and Raoul have 3 daughters and 2 sons who are proud of their hertiage,later her great grandkids return back to Canada to bury her bones back where she belong and lived ever since (yup no Love never dies Gustave is here in this universe)

Why Raoul is a quality amazing man, why I love him

So, I’ve noticed in the poto fandom or phandom, that so many people hate Raoul.

Like, way too many.

This is where I will appreciate and explain why I love him and why Christine chose right in being with him

Also I’m not talking about LND because we can all agree ALW butchered Raoul’s character, and that fan fiction of a musical is not truly cannon.

First off, this man is an ANGEL. He is one of the most genuine characters in Phantom. He just loves Christine with all of her heart and wants nothing more than for her to be happy.

Christine did not want to be with Erik. She even said his actions were horrible and that she “cried tears of hate” for him. Honestly, y'all are so worried about Erik’s happiness, the murderer, that you have complete disregard for Christine’s happiness.

Back to Raoul, he’s really not a cry baby, nor is he this invincible guy. He’s a human. A human put in a difficult situation, which, is easier to see in the books when he constantly is at odds with himself because Christine says she loves him, tells him of all these supernatural things and of Erik, and he is constantly doubting. But here’s the kicker. He doesn’t leave. Like, no matter how much he doubts her love of what she says, he still loves her and stays with her. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with him thinking Christine is a little delusional with all the Phantom stuff. None of it added up to him, and it all seemed illogical. Its natural for any human being to not believe those kinds of things, so stop using that to make him look bad

Some people complain that he always wins, and just because he won in the end doesn’t mean everything went smoothly throughout. Aside from what I mentioned above, people thought he was delusional for believing in the Phantom once he did, his brother was murdered by Erik, and he was almost strangled to death. That doesn’t sound like a win.

He was willing to give up his life so that Christine didn’t have to spend eternity with Erik. He knew she feared him, and he deceived her. I bet that if she actually WANTED to be with Erik, Raoul would put himself aside and back off from her so she could be happy.

I saw something about how he says “say you need me with you” in All I Ask instead of how the Phantom says “want”. I just hope you all realize that the first chorus, the first time “need” is spoken in the song is by Christine. It shows the mutual want and love for each other in their relationship. They both just want to know that they’re of value in the other’s life, that they’re important to each other. Simple.

In short:

Raoul de Chagny is a loving, quality man who puts the woman he loves above himself and respects her, and stands by her.
