I finally did it. I think we all needed it.
#i'm imagining an au where jason meets salim first and decides to be a little shit just to piss off his unwanted 'ally'#and salim puts up with it bc he's got the patience of a martyr#and jason warms up to him but he's already committed to being a little shit so he just keeps doing that#but then they regroup with the other protagonists and he automatically switches back to Good Leader Mode#salim gets whiplash#and possibly a sexuality crisis#anyway i think that'd be funny#house of ashes

Why aren't we talking about Ratthi's distressed "It's looking me in the eyes" when they're trying to get Murderbot to remember them

Absolutely charmed by this birthday card, which I’m convinced is a depiction of Murderbot using a “party” program possibly designed by Ratthi and Amena

Doubt this is the case, but I like the idea that Dispatch is deliberately making Arnold sound better to anyone who might overhear his end of their conversations. (Yes, I know the voice we hear for most of the game isn’t Dispatch. More on that later.)
Arnold says a lot of shit that could land him in trouble if it gets back to corporate. Good thing the guy on the mic likes him enough to loudly go “you’re such an enthusiastic and loyal worker ahaha keep up the great work” whenever someone else is in earshot, right? Sure, said guy is kinda an asshole, but he’s not ratting anyone out unless you count the coworkers placing bets on Arnold’s chance of survival.
And then Dispatch loses contact. Arnold is left following the instructions of someone (something?) less friendly, whose callousness isn’t quite so performative. Maybe he realizes something’s wrong. Or maybe he does as he’s told and leaves Dispatch - the real Dispatch - no choice but to crack down on him because otherwise he risks losing his job too and he isn’t that nice.
I dunno, it’s just fun to think about.

Speedrunning Secret of the Mimic is so funny from a Watsonian perspective (spoilers ahead)
Like, here’s Arnold. Arnold is exhausted, on the verge of tears, and beyond caring who knows he hates his employers.
Arnold gets assigned another, decidedly worse job and instead of taking it slow decides to Get That Shit Done as fast as humanly possible. He’s sprinting. He’s guessing where everything is and somehow never getting it wrong. He’s completing instructions before his guide has gotten halfway through the sentence.
M2 can’t touch him. Dispatch can’t get a word in edgewise.
And then he randomly decides Dispatch is full of shit, jumps in a vent, and crashes his van.
