“…”
Oikawa took a deep breath.
“Tobio-chan?”
He smiled.
“Don’t talk to me.”

Oikawa felt his phone vibrate again with a new message. He frowned, adjusting the boxes and packages carefully balanced on his arms. Even then, he decided to neglect checking the message, moving toward the front lines to cash out. Pursing his lips, the brunet stood up on his toes and looked across the people before spotting his roommate. He grinned as he recognized the short, spiky hair, beginning to walk toward it with a cheerful call of “Iwa-chan~!”
The contents of his arms were carelessly dropped into the basket once Oikawa arrived, arms resting on the side of the cart. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the contents were all snack foods: rice crackers, graham crackers, granola bars, and fruit chews. On the plus side, at least they weren’t entirely unhealthy. There was a smile on Oikawa’s lips as he glanced at the people still ahead of Iwaizumi, then at his roommate. “Did you miss me, Iwa-chan?”
He removed his phone from his pocket shortly afterward, frowning as he remembered the missed message from earlier. He glanced at it, then lifted his gaze to the person ahead of them. For several moments Oikawa was silent, lips still pursed as he looked down at his phone again.
“Maybe I’ll look into it,” he remarked out loud, thoughtful.

He placed the items in the cart and glanced over to Oikawa before nodding his head. Iwaizumi walked over and took the cart from his roommate and tilted his head slightly to point towards the check out area. Hoping that gave the message, he turned the cart towards the on going line for check out. He let a hum slip past his lips as he unloaded the items onto the platform. The dancer had purposely picked the longest line, so it wouldn’t be too much of a hassle to wait for his roommate. Iwaizumi ran his fingers across the smooth surface of the containers as he continued to move them onto the conveyer belt until everything was removed from the cart. With that, he turned toward the small rows often showing boxes of gum and or sweets. His eyes narrowed slightly at the view, grabbing the peppermint gum and placing it with the rest of their things. Sweets were never a big thing with him. He preferred the bitter taste of dark chocolate or the freshness of mint. He glanced to this side, surveying the crowd in front of him. There was maybe about four people in front of him. Three of the four had a decent amount and the four person had a huge pile of soda’s and other party related things–… Ugh, that usually meant there would be a get together at the campus dorms. He had been told by seniors in his class that it was a bit of a tradition to throw huge ass party in the beginning of the school quarter. There wouldn’t be any chance that he was going to go. Iwaizumi Hajime doesn’t do parties. Well, for all he knew OIkawa could be into that stuff, not that he actually knew much about his roommate in the first place. He shot him a quick message before putting his phone away. ⎡ TO: Oikawa ⎦ ⎡ Subject: no subject ⎦ ⟦TEXT⟧ Looks like there’s going to be a party soon.

Oikawa took back his phone with a grin. He gave a short glance to the new entry in his contents before tucking the device back into his pocket and continuing to lean against the taller captain. Hm... It was always a strange feeling, being shorter than other people, but this... when he thought about it, he could probably get used to this.
“Hm~” Oikawa hummed in approval of the soft kiss, letting his head settle against Kuroo’s shoulder. “Sounds like a plan.” An excuse for going to Tokyo, a planned hook-up, someone to have some fun with... huh. Accepting Sawamura's little invitation really hadn't been that bad of an idea.
“I’d be disappointed too,” Kuroo said teasingly, taking Oikawa’s phone and entered his number. “Here ya go, prettyboy.” Hmm, the more he thought about it, the more he wanted Oikawa to come over. They could go out together, get drunk and do irresponsible stuff. Honestly, Kuroo had no friends like that - Nobuyuki was too serious and calm to go all out, and Yaku would murder him. (He still might but at least only afterwards.) “So we have a deal - I’ll come to your place in summer and you can, well, visit me any time, okay?” He inched closer, taking in the enjoyable feeling of proximity, and softly kissed the other guy’s temple.

“I know, Tobio-chan~” he chides, rolling his eyes. “I’m not so dirty I can’t go to class without a shower, though. I just wanna feel fresh and clean. I’d take a shower when I get back if not now.” His foot rubs at the back of Kageyama’s ankle, the brunet smiling at how his lazy actions have caused Kageyama’s restless shaking to end. Now, how long until he comments on it...
“Nothing sad,” Oikawa confirms, smirking slightly before taking another sip of tea. “I mean, I wasn’t going to put on something I had to pay too much attention to. I kind of want to just relax, you know?” He kind of wants to pay attention to Kageyama, he means.
“It’s not that!” Kageyama huffs. “You still have to go to class. If you don’t shower now you might forget.”
Kageyama’s foot stills when he feels Oikawa’s own rest against his leg. Is that a sign for him to stop? He hadn’t even realized he’d been absently shaking his leg until now. He doesn’t move, unsure how to respond to the touch.
“I don’t know,” he says in response to Oikawa’s question, “I guess I’ll watch anything. …Nothing sad,” he adds hastily, “nothing like last time.”

Oikawa raises his eyebrows, but he’s still smiling when Kageyama agrees with his suggestion. A soft chuckle leaves him. “You don’t want to cuddle with me before I shower?” he teases, but there’s nothing malicious about his tone as his foot absently nudges at Kageyama’s leg beneath the table.
“Do you want to watch a movie?” he carries on, continuing to eat his breakfast as his foot continues to rest against Kageyama’s leg. “Or just turn something on for noise?” He sets aside his fork to drink his tea, letting his foot hook behind Kageyama’s ankle absently.
Kageyama is long since done with his pancake eating. He only sits on the table because, well. Oikawa is still on the table, and leaving would be impolite. Not that he wants to leave; Oikawa holds his interest, to put it one way, and so it’s not too much of a problem for him to remain seated way after he’s done.
As he watches Oikawa, he becomes a little anxious; was that question a little too straightforward? Was that kind of question okay to ask? He doesn’t have long to mull over it, however, and when Oikawa does answer his eyes light up. Cuddles, with Oikawa-san….
“Okay. After you shower, though.” He replies. “Since you haven’t.”

Oikawa settles to eat, cutting the pancakes into smaller pieces with his fork and absently nibbling at them. When he removes the tea bag from his cup, he adds a small splash of milk and idly stirs it in before returning his attention to his slow-paced pancake eating. It’s after swallowing a bite that he finally replies to Kageyama’s question. His lips quirk with quiet amusement.
“Hm~” he hums, fork cutting into the stack again to separate a square from the rest. His eyes raise from his plate, running over Kageyama as he hums again. “Well, I think I want to do something with you.” He smiles, waits. Several moments pass before Oikawa elaborates.
“I just want to turn on the tv and cuddle for a bit, honestly.”
Kageyama absently licks his own lips as he watches Oikawa do the same. He makes to sit back down on the dining table, fixing the towel hanging around his neck. It’s become lopsided, so he straightens it. He watches Oikawa prepare tea, legs absently shaking.
Ah, the shower. He did manage to take his but Oikawa didn’t. He’d almost forgotten about it. “Okay,” he says in reply. Two or three hours… so he’s going to stay for that long, then. The question is, after breakfast and after Oikawa showers…
“Do you want to do anything, Oikawa-san? Since you won’t be leaving for a while.”

Watching as Iwaizumi began to type up a reply to him on his phone, the smile plastered on Oikawa’s lips quirked slightly. It faltered only for a moment when Iwaizumi turned the phone toward him; Oikawa recovered quickly, offering what could only be described as a “reassuring” smile. He didn’t answer until they were beginning to walk again, his hands resting on the cart and really doing more steering than actual pushing as Iwaizumi tugged it from the front.
“So you’re talking to me again,” Oikawa confirmed out loud, and the smile was more self-satisfied, bordering on smug but not entirely reaching the point. He didn’t resist Iwaizumi’s direction, following after as he began to talk again.
“Don’t be silly, Iwa-chan. Of course I study!” the brunet chirped, grinning. His eyes ran over Iwaizumi’s back as he followed, tracing down the bared muscles put on display by his roommate’s choice in sleeveless top. His lips quirked again, and Oikawa caught the lower one between his teeth for a few moments before humming. Well.
As Iwaizumi went down the aisle to collect his supplies, Oikawa vanished from the cart. He moved quickly, without any interest in waiting around as he ducked down the next aisle over. Knowing what he was looking for helped, and it was after grabbing three separate bottles that the brunet hurried back to the cart to find Iwaizumi had already returned to it. “I only want to grab a few more things~ If you want, I can meet you up at check-out?”
Iwaizumi rolled his eyes at his roommate and shrugged his shoulders. It figures that he act as if he was completely innocent in all of this. He honestly didn’t expect any less from the other male, especially with his…unique personality in tow. The dancer could easily get a new roommate if he wanted, since it was only a click away with the technology they had…but he didn’t really want that anymore. There was something about Oikawa that caught his interest, despite the annoyance of his attitude.. He could get used to it. He pulled out his phone to type up the message of response. 「 Why did I agree to be roommates with an idiot, again? I must have a death wish or fate is out to get me. But I’ll just get a few ice packs and pain killers. You’ll probably need them too once mid terms hits the corner. Then again you don’t seem like the type to study, am I right? 」 He tugged the cart by the front of it, keeping in mind he’s probably dragging the other male with him. His gaze faltered over ever isle, taking in what was in each one before moving onto the next. Once he arrived at the right one, he left the cart and stalked into the isle. A soft hum left his lips as he scanned the shelves for his needed items before picking them up and heading back.

It wasn’t long before Oikawa’s phone gave another short vibration as it received a text. The brunet himself couldn’t help smiling, looking down at the display with a cheery little hum. If absolutely nothing else, Oikawa could always give points for people who replied promptly. He had to read the message a second time before he actually acknowledged the content, shoving his phone back into his pocket afterward. Finding the requested tea took considerably less time than waiting for the message, though Oikawa gave the shelves a last look before returning to the cart to move on.
Okay, he had tea, and coffee, and... and pasta, he recalled with a quick glance into the shopping cart. He supposed he ought to find Iwaizumi before he went to gather anything else – some nuts sounded good, and maybe some juice boxes, and a package of rice crackers... – but he was hardly out of the aisle before he found himself face to face with his roommate again. The brunet brightened immediately, smile back on his features as dark eyes quickly surveyed the items in his roommate’s arms.
“Welcome back, Iwa-chan~” he crooned, reaching out to slide the box of cereal from under Iwaizumi’s arm before placing it in the cart. “Have you calmed down?” As if he weren’t to blame. “I need to pick up some snacks and some vitamins. Anything else you want to grab?”

With that reply, Iwaizumi started to walk out of the isle. He mentally shook at the thought of Oikawa’s response. Doesn’t the idiot know that eating breakfast is important to his metabolism started in the mornings? Obviously not if he gave him that reply. He stifled a sigh and looked down at his phone. He didn’t necessarily have a preferred tea, but he would like some. ⎡ TO: Oikawa ⎦ ⎡ Subject: this fucking idiot ⎦ ⟦TEXT⟧ Green tea with peach addition. It didn’t take iwaizumi long to arrive at the dairy section, figuring they would need milk, whether or not Oikawa ate cereal in the mornings. He grabbed a gallon, then decided to walk towards the tea and coffee isle, thinking that if he was lucky, he’d catch Oikawa. It wasn’t like he wanted to carry this stuff all day. There was a reason shopping carts were made in the first place.

Oikawa smiles to himself. Without a doubt, Kageyama’s lips taste like victory. He can’t help that he licks his lips as he busies himself with preparing his tea, pouring water into the mug after placing the tea bag within. He only looks back to Kageyama after Kageyama asks him a question, but the smile still lingers on his lips.
“Not for a while yet,” he answers as he moves back to the table, returning to his pancakes while his tea steeps. “I still want to take a shower, and I might leave early to grab a snack on the way, but I’ve still got two or three hours aside?”
Kageyama was not expecting the peck on his lips at all, and the action stains his cheeks a light shade of red. He huffs, not knowing exactly how to respond to that with his face warm all the way to the tips of his ears, so instead he takes another gulp of the cold glass of milk.
“What’s there to swoon about?I’m just saying!” he mutters into the rim of his glass. “…Thank you, though, Oikawa-san.”
He’s not very sure how to respond to that. You say thank you when someone offers you something, right? Kageyama hangs around the counter and watches Oikawa take out a mug and a tea bag, still not knowing what else to say to that.
“When are you leaving?”

Oikawa felt his phone go off again. For a few moments he humored the idea of ignoring it, but whatever contact he had seemed like they weren’t going to let it go with a single text. Each insistent vibration pushed at Oikawa’s patience, further and further until he finally sighed and removed his phone to check the messages. His lips raised slightly with the accusation.
TO: Iwa-chan ▶ I don’t really like cereal ▶ Breakfast is a waste of time! ▶ Just grab me some granola ▶ ( ‘з’)/ Thanks~
He almost put his phone away, turning his attention back to the shelves before him. Pausing, he fired off one last message to his roommate.
▶ Do you like tea?
He might as well ask, right? Looking back to the shelves, Oikawa picked up a few boxes and neatly set them into the shopping cart, turning his attention next to the coffee beans. Tossing a bag of those into the cart, the brunet leaned against it with a hum, fingers sliding into his pocket to trace the side of his phone. He should probably wait until he got a reply before wandering off again.
Removing his phone to fuss with it while he waited, Oikawa hummed softly to himself.

Iwaizumi allowed his gaze to shift between shelves, seeing if there was anything he particularly needed. Not so far–, cereal. Okay, that was definitely one he needed. He wasn’t going to go off and make breakfast every morning, hell no. That was true especially when he thought abut all the midnight studying for exams, and fuck, he was not looking forward to it in the slightest. He didn’t care what amateurs said, dancing is no way an easy thing, even if he did love it and had been doing it since he was a boy. His train of thought was quickly interrupted by the vibration in his pocket. Fingers wrapped around the cool item and pulled it out in front of his face. He swiped the screen to unlock it and read the message, cringing at what was written. Was this idiot being serious–?
⎡ TO: Oikawa ⎦ ⎡ Subject: this fucking idiot ⎦ ⟦TEXT⟧ What the hell are you? ⟦TEXT⟧ 5? ⟦TEXT⟧ Who even uses emoji’s anymore? ⟦TEXT⟧ Oh and what kind of cereal do you want? He placed his phone in his back pocket and continued to look over shelves again, to look for his personally preferred cereal brand. Once his eyes landed on the familiar label, he reached up to get it before sliding it under his arm. It didn’t take him long to notice the popcorn selection behind him. Well, that would be good for when they have classmates over for a movie, that is if that even happens–.

Oikawa knows that it isn’t Kageyama’s intention when he says it, and he isn’t sure if that makes the innocent implication more endearing or less. Regardless, he finds himself smiling. I don’t want to be here. I want to be with you.
The kettle isn’t whistling, but he hears the water inside has begun to roll, and he takes the excuse to stand up. Approaching Kageyama instead, Oikawa rests his hands on the counter behind him as he leans close.
“I might have swooned a little, Tobio-chan,” he teases, leaning in to place a quick peck on the younger’s lips. “The offer still stands, though, if you ever change your mind. You’re always welcome.” He pulls away when the kettle whistles, lifting it away from the heat and moving to grab a mug and tea bag from a cabinet.
It doesn’t take Kageyama long at all to polish the second stack of pancakes. He briefly considers another helping, but decides that he should leave Oikawa some, so instead he gets up, takes the carton of milk sitting at the counter and pours himself a new glass.
“It’s not that.” Kageyama pauses to bring the rim of the glass to his lips and drink the milk. He puts the glass down, wipes the remnant of milk on his upper lip absently with the back of his palm, and continues. “There’s no point hanging around here alone, Oikawa-san, so that’s why I asked. I’ll go when you leave for class.”
