Dear Journal, So- we'll probably be talking about this a lot, but a pretty big in-system event is coming up soon. It's called "WAMPIN". No idea what it stands for. There's a bunch of events for it, but the most popular one this year is the duo's event. 36 groups of 2, all competing in honor of their 'sponsor'; a guy you like, or who pays you off to compete for them. Winning group's sponsor gets a wish from The God (a big deal in our sys.) This year the stakes are high. From what I know, it's usually a casual event- friends fighting friends for the fuck of it, lots of fun advertising and training rounds too. Not that it won't be fun this year either- I'm sure it is for a lot of people- but I have a lot riding on this. Our closest friend out the system is involved this year. He's sponsoring her cousin and uncle. It's what made the event so popular in the first place. I really want to do well. I don't want to look stupid in front of so many people. And especially not our friend.

There's so much training and dressing and adverts and designing me and my boyfriend (my teammate) have to do, and it's starting to make me nervous. I'm trying to trust my partner though, and all my friends who are going to root for me.

I'm playing against some- "important" people too. Everyone's going to be really pissed at me if they win- or just think I'm pathetic.

I won't lose though. I refuse to. I'm making to the end whether it kills me or not.
