To talk about queerness historically, we probably need to start by reexamining present attitudes to bisexuality.

Writing a final paper for my major and I believe it is going to become my favorite paper i’ve ever written which is saying A LOT. Went on a deep dive into gender theory (particularly Audre Lorde), then researched the history of traditional music and dance around the world and the oppression of “ecstatic practice” and carnival by hegemonic powers and am now connecting it all to the importance of protest music. the less context the more confusing but goddamn am i experiencing galaxy brain.

I want to make dnd one shots loosely based on folk ballads. current list includes but is not limited to:
-tam lin
-outlandish knight/lady isabel and the elf knight
- thomas the rhymer
-maid on the shore
-famous flower of serving men (idk there’s enough mystical shit happening here and also a good amount of murder that i feel there is potential)

imagine you think you're gonna get executed so you make sure to dress up real nice and hope the king's latent homosexuality works in your favour and then it does

Halloween costume idea: Tam Lin
You start the party dressed as vaguely medieval guy (with maybe elf ears if you wanna be fancy). Then you have costume changes, leaving and coming back dressed as different beasts. The big finish is coming back naked and having someone throw their green cloak over you.
Bonus points for having your partner or friend dressed as Janet and holding you through the "transformations" and being the one to cover you with the green cloak.
Extra bonus points for arriving on a white stick horse toy.

Thinking about how an Appalachian music benefit concert with American folk artists for the victims of Helene would actually be such a great way to collect money and resources while highlighting the important cultural impact the region and its people have on all of us

No but the Hunger Games really said "what do you hate more- the atrocities or the people who commit them against you? Because like it or not there IS a difference. If you hate the people who commit acts of pure evil more than you hate the acts themselves, what will stop you from becoming just like your enemies in your pursuit of justice? What will keep you from commiting those very same acts against THEM when the opportunity arises? And what then? The cycle of pain and suffering will never stop. Round and round it'll go. Nothing will ever change. But. BUT. If you hate the atrocities. If you hate the vile, senseless acts MORE than you hate the people who did them to you. If you are able to see that evil is evil regardless of who does it... The cycle ends with you. No, you may never get justice. But you will never be responsible for making others, even your enemies, suffer the same crimes you have. The atrocities will never be committed by you, never by your hand. And that's the way you change the world. It's the ONLY way" and that's why I am sure it will never stop being one of the most relevant works of fiction ever created

Hey friends. Do this:
Tumblr media
This probably took this person 3 seconds to do but it immediately told me that they liked my story enough to come back and read it again and they liked it again the second time.
Your favorite writers Do Not Know that you think about their stories after you read them. I generally assume that my stories make people happy for the few minutes they’re reading and then they never think about it again. To know that that’s not the case and that someone has returned just makes my little heart swell with joy.
I needed this today. If you’re the person who left this comment (or if you’ve ever commented on any of my writing) I love you.
