To a degree I actually enjoy that there are some variations in how things are pronounced between Dragon Age games. It feels very believable that there would be different dialects amongst people with shared cultural beliefs spanning across a continent.

That being said, this doesn’t apply to that Dalish elf you meet in the random encounter in Origins if you don’t kill the werewolves. Pronouncing Elgar’nan as ElgAR’HAN when everyone else within that dialect pronounces it Elgar’nan is very funny.

I know it’s 100% the voice actor not having guidance on how to pronounce the name before recording the line (idk if BioWare even decided on any pronunciation in Origins tbh) but it’s funny to imagine that her character just really didn’t pay attention or care about history or religion to the point where she literally forgot his name
