Giambologna - Colosso dell’Appennino - 1580
(The Appennine Colossus)
Villa Medicea, Pratolino, Toscana
Fun fact: the Colossus had rooms, caves and internal passages, and also an hydraulic system that connected the head of the giant to the various water sources in his body. The light came in through his large eyes that served as windows.
