Repost from @blackwomenfilm • A PHENOMENAL night yesterday at the BWFN Short Film Festival! 🎉🥳 Eight incredible shorts were screened in front of a packed audience at MODEx Studio in Atlanta (the line before opening extended to Pharr Rd!). WCLK personality and marketing director Ray Cornelius hosted the affair, which included great food, drinks and over 3 hours of poignant storytelling from a Black woman's perspective. The evening ended with awards to the following films: * Best Film Editing - "Brief Exchanges" * Best Cinematography- "Summer" * Best Screenplay - "Look Back at It" (Felicia Pride) * Best Actor - Ashley Versher ("Brief Exchanges") * Audience Award - "Look Back At It" * Best Director - Phyllis Toben Bancroft ("With Salt") * Best in Festival - "Look Back at It" (Felicia Pride) Congrats to these winners and all of the filmmakers who participated. Thank you to Elon Johnson and Aanch Khaneja for serving as this year's judges. They had a really tough job!
