one year later, i now have 15 tattoos total and i still love this tattoo so much. still one of my favorites and i love that it’s such a subtle nod to dragon age. it’s like a ‘if you know you know’ type thing and i love it 🥰

here’s it healed one year later!

me, unfortunately:

i FINALLY got the dragon age tattoo i’ve been talking about for awhile.

i went with isabela’s dagger (the heartbreaker) with some elf root wrapped around it (shout out to my tattoo artist who brought the design to life!)

i have about 6 tattoos, most of which are from video games, but are of games that mean a lot to me and have had a very significant impact on my life in some way, shape or form.

dragon age, despite its flaws, does mean a lot to me because it was games like these that make me passionate about screenwriting and storytelling. when i played this game for the first time, it really just opened my eyes to whole new type of story telling in a fantasy setting that i just really vibed with. not only that, the game is extremely nostalgic for me as well as got me through a very difficult time in my life (much like skyrim did…which i also have a tattoo for).

as for isabela, again despite her flaws, she’s a character that i love and heavily relate to in various different ways. (i would have also loved to get a morrigan tattoo, but unfortunately, she doesn’t really have an iconic weapon like isabela does because her staffs from DA:O are just retextures/remodels of the same staff).

anywho, i love isabela as a character and just really understand her fears and anxieties, because they once reflected my own. during the events of da2, she overcomes her fears when she realizes that she doesn’t need to run anymore when she finds her found family, and this was something i so desperately wanted in life and now finally have.

so i look at this tattoo that not only represents my love for dragon age and isabela, but also my own growth as a person.
