(Reposting this post on @grimorie-dos to test for tag visibilit and mutual/follower visibility on dash. Sorry if you see this post several times on different grimorie blogs. This is just for testing purposes.)
One of the most fascinating things about the Agatha All Along artbook and with all the interviews we've gotten is how much of an open secret it is that Rio Vidal AKA the Universal Concept of Death is Nicholas Scratch's other parent.
"We wanted to use river rock for his grave, since he was born near water," Presley says. "There were also a few variants on what Agatha put on his grave. Of the two here, one is a dried twig wreath. There was also the idea that Agatha would conjure a bouquet of lavender from a single brown twig, which would give us purple green gold—the colors of Nicholas Scratch's costume from the comic."

The interesting part of this whole thing is they mention is that they considered putting a wreath made out of twigs. But the artwork for the wreath looks like infinity sign. This is significant because it's also a design that's used for Rio:

"Rio was one of the most challenging characters to design," says Daniel Selon. "What we landed on was that there would always be certain elements present in every look for her—a continuity of silhouette. It needed to involve some kind of hood, so that there would be a little nod to her ultimate reveal as Death. Then there would be an infinity symbol, in the buckle of her belt. And then we would have these cutouts on certain parts of her body, hinting at the skeletal aspect she would have later on.

It's not a coincidence IMO that the production artwork also had the wreath shaped into an infinity sign.
They can't TEXTUALLY say Nicky is also Rio's son but they sure as hell can hint at it subtextually.
Also, rewatching episode 9 again, I realized since Nicky was a baby, Agatha's dressed Nicky in green. And that's not a coincidence even when Agatha was terrified of Rio arriving to take Nicky, Agatha still dressed Nicky in Green Witch colors.
Agatha deliberately chose places where Nicky is close to a river. In nature.
Agatha still dressed Nicky in Rio's colors.

(Even Agatha worse some green in her clothes).
The last witches Nicky interacted with and refused to help Agatha lure to their deaths seem to be a coven of Green Witches with all the green on their clothing.
Rio might not have been around a lot in Nicky's life, but that doesn't mean Rio's presence wasn't felt. Rio was around them. Around Nicky, and Agatha made sure, despite her fear over Rio taking Nicky away, that there were markers to identify that Nicky Agatha and Rio's child.

"RTD treats his companions of color terribly!" Well, yes. "Moffat proved himself to be so much better." Well. Yes, it is better, but he did still shoot a giant hole in her chest. Which is absolutely not to say Chibnall should be crowned the best at it- I have to fight to get crumbs of a character arc for Ryan and while I do love Yaz, she is still a cop.
They're kind of all bad at it. Which is why we should get writers of color.

Jac's right, it is absolutely hilarious to have Death besotted and obsessed with Agatha and Agatha being like "no".

ngl corporate / ‘performative’ pride is hitting different this year bc under a presidency like this one trying to undermine years of progress to the cheering of bigots & a rainbow has become offensive to many. so businesses n celebrities saying nah let me post #love #pride is lowkey more of a message this june than ever

hey sorry not to be an asshole but I saw someone say that a sports team posting about pride month was "pandering" and I need you to log off and touch grass because now more than EVER it's important that large institutions (and especially those that could easily be right wing like sports teams) show the fuck up for queer and trans people. especially trans people. so no it is not "pandering" to take a stand for a marginalized group of people that are currently under attack for trying to play sports. be so fucking for real

decidedly unfriendly reminder that fanfiction is written by real people with real feelings for free in their free time. it's a labour of love and something to cherish. if you come across a fic that you don't enjoy, that's totally fine, but it is your due diligence as a fellow fan and decent human being to click away. leaving mean comments, absurd rating systems or harassing writers in their inbox while hiding behind an anonymous icon is not an acceptable manner to behave in any fandom and online space ever. it's disgustingly entitled, wildly disrespectful and only serves to discourage people from sharing their writing in a community that is meant to be fun and supportive. the next time you read something you don't enjoy, stop reading it and move on with your day. read something you like and leave kudos and a nice comment there instead. have some common sense and don't be a fucking asshole. it's not that fucking difficult.

Picard s2 transcripts
i've returned from the war (chronic joint pain) and am delivering on my promise to start putting up the rest of the Star Trek Picard i've made. here's the dropbox link for s2 and here's the folder where i'll be putting the rest of my transcripts (currently only Picard s1 & s2 are there).
these were made with the subtitle track so all of the dialogue should be 100% accurate but formatting, character names, descriptions, etc are all written by me. i try to be consistent and careful but i'm sure there will be a few errors here and there.
i also started making these for fanfic reference so there are a few scenes i probably over-described just for my own reference so sorry if that bothers anyone.
if anyone feels particularly inspired to make transcripts for other Star Trek series, please let me know and i would be more than happy to host the files/give links to find the subtitle tracks since as far as i know, there are no other available full transcripts for any new Star Trek series. i'll definitely do Picard s3 transcripts at some point but it likely won't be for a few months and i'd like to make transcripts for the other shows as well but who knows if/when i'll get to it.

I really really dislike the labeling of all modern video games with large female demographics as “Cozy Games”. I find it condescending that a game’s target demographic somehow changes the genre of game. Stardew Valley is a simulation game with RTS and RPG elements. The cozy aspect is simply an aesthetic choice. In fact I think the vast majority of “Cozy Games” fall into simulation and strategy/time management genres.
I just wish people would show a bit more respect to the gamedevs (though I know a lot of them use cozy game language in marketing to appeal to fans of similar games) and fans of these games which are no easier or less valid to play than any other game genre
