The biggest proof for byler is that if they wanted gay representation, they could’ve done just that. They could have made wills arc about self discovery, acceptance and living as queer in the 80s. But they chose for will to be in love with Mike. They chose for wills arc to be about how he feels unloveable. And they chose to write that Mike can’t say “I love you” to his girlfriend. They chose to write the “crazy together” scene in a show where crazy=love (“only love makes you that crazy sweetheart, and that damn stupid”). Every word said in this show is intentional. The writers are definitely not lazy. They chose to make milkvan unhealthier in s3 and 4 (the shows supposed main ship.) they chose for Mike and will to be closer than the rest of their friends. My point is.. they had every opportunity to shut down the possibility of byler, they had every opportunity to make milkvan a healthy and ideal relationship. But no, every moment has set up for milkvan to break up and every moment has set up for byler to happen.
