if there’s one thing the bat boys have in common, it’s being willing to get on their knees for their women. and what’s better than azriel willing to beg on his knees for his woman? worshipping at her altar for a taste of the 𝓭𝓲𝓿𝓲𝓷𝓮.

and let’s be honest; there is no need for poetry when the way azriel thinks about elain is poetry in itself.

SO excited so show y’all this one the girls and i have been cooking up! inspired by what is, in my humble opinion, one of the hottest lines SJM has written to date, this art takes elements from the greek mythologies eros+psyche and hades+persephone (bonus points if you can catch all the references!)

shout out once again to our QUEEN, @celestarly . i swear every piece she makes blows me away all over again. i know we put you through the ringer with this one but the end result is jaw-dropping- this might be my favorite az ever, i haven’t stopped ogling it since you sent it over and we are SO SO GRATEFUL! 🫶💜

Honestly it boils down to reparenting yourself & rewiring your own neuronal pathways & telling yourself a firm “stop” when you notice your mind slipping down negative loopholes & being present in the moment & enjoying being mid task rather than waiting for it to end & not thinking of inertia as your baseline and natural way of living

I need to draw them being more lame lmao esp that first Sanji turned out so cool looking UGH (pose ref was the mesh wearing guitarist from the band Glass Beams)

Anyway, decided to forgo my usual full opacity brush look for sth more soft, I was craving more subtlety in shading and hazy linework, especially since I've been struggling with drawing noses for what feels like an eternity and couldn't pull them off in my sharp linework

Gonna be less busy now so I hope to get back to the WCI comic, haven't opened that file in like 2 months!!

being an artist and revisiting media you liked when you were 11 is like. oh ok. this shaped my sense of humor and the way I write characters and the way I pace narratives and the tropes I'm drawn to. and I vastly underestimated how much of an impact it had on me because I literally have not thought about it for 15 years. but it was there inside me the whole time. ok. ok cool! c ool
