sleepy hangout discord server

hello, I figured I should make a ✨new post✨ for this server bc we still have people join occasionally! and I never did a good job of explaining what the server actually IS, lol

This server started in 2021 and is primarily centered around TMA agere fic/art/headcanons/etc. (though to be honest it is about 95% baby jon content right now). and also just a general hangout bc I like making friends

It went mostly silent for a few years before being revived a few months ago. while it's still a small sever, it is still active and I love seeing new faces in there

lurking is also 100% okay, I post some art & writing snippets there I haven't posted elsewhere bc it's the place I feel the most comfortable talking about agere content. I also post fic updates and love bouncing ideas off people

rules are very simple:

1. be nice

if you're rude about what other people write/draw/ship/etc. this is not the right server for you.

2. 18+ only

3. sfw content only

(discussion of adult topics is fine but smut belongs elsewhere)

thinking about the way i write age regression, specifically with jon. idk if anyone finds this interesting but I will post it here anyway. also some headcanons

age:

it's not a strict thing in terms of age. he doesn't have a specific age he regresses to and he doesn't really think about it in those terms

that being said, he does slide up and down on a sort of age scale, in terms of his wants and needs. some days he wants to be baby, just nap all day and drink from a bottle. some days he's "older" and prefers more active play like drawing or playing with toys

his default state is mostly comparable to a five or six year old but again, it's not exact

terminology:

he doesn't have a name/term for what he experiences, which is why I avoid the term "age regression" in my actual writing.

(though i'll use "regressed" occasionally, because there's only so many ways I can write "slipping into a softer headspace" before it gets annoying)

as far as jon knows he's the only weirdo that experiences this.

self-awareness:

jon still knows he's an adult and never fully loses the self-consciousness about it. He's aware of how others perceive him, is aware of the age of the body he's in and wouldn't enjoy being treated otherwise

(I bring this up because he's not role-playing, exactly. He doesn't want to be told things like "when you grow up"... if that makes sense. he's still aware he's an adult, he doesn't want to feel like he's playing pretend)

he's self-aware enough that if he were to be in public or meet someone else while regressed he could mostly hold it together, or at least be aware that the way he's acting is strange

he can pull himself out of regression if he's not too upset, but if it's a trauma reaction it'll be a lot more difficult.

behavior:

mostly, he's just more emotional, has a big need for comfort/reassurance and operates on a sort of kid-logic (takes things very literally... part of this is just un-masking tbh. he's already bad at subtlety but way worse when he feels small)

his thoughts are simpler and more straightforward—not that he doesn't have the capacity to think things through, but big complex things are scary and it's nicer to not have to think about them for a bit

he doesn't really do baby-talk, but he stutters more and talks a bit simpler

he has more difficulty talking when regressed, though. he's mostly pretty quiet and when he wants to talk sometimes his words get jumbled up or it takes him a bit to get through a sentence.

(especially when he's upset, he'll shut down and won't/can't talk)

he cries a lot lmao. i write him crying so much i had to go back and edit the fic to cut down on the amount of times i write him bursting into tears

he can be a bit of a brat, especially when he thinks his cg is being unfair. he will remember a random comment or time when he was allowed to do something and use it to argue for weeks afterwards

likes

hugs! most of the time. with permission. he does not like being touched without warning and it is 100% possible to make him cry by catching him off-guard with touch

comfy clothes. big soft t-shirts. stealing daddy's clothes

chicken tenders

stuffed animals

coloring, drawing

being swaddled

being read to

soft blankets

enclosed spaces. he will crawl under the couch if you let him.

biting.

dislikes:

doing chores. he is a spoiled brat and doing dishes after he's done eating is literally the end of the world

wearing shoes

loud noises

being yelled at :( do not yell at baby

I don't like splitting stuff up over multiple accounts but I'm a very anxious person and inherently embarrassed as hell about writing agere stuff

very short jon/tim/sasha/martin agere thing I wrote with baby jon

vague post-fix-it AU written in 30 minutes at midnight and unedited, I might clean it up eventually but figured I might as well post it here so it doesn't rot away in my google docs forever lol

Tim, Martin, Sasha and Jon were having a lazy Sunday afternoon at home. Whatever mindless reality show Netflix had decided to start auto-playing was on the TV in the background, but it was really just for background noise.

Sasha was reclined in the armchair, looking very concentrated on the Sunday crossword puzzle. She still insisted on getting the physical newspaper, which Tim always made fun of her for. She looked like a grandpa, Tim thought, sitting there in the massive La-Z-Boy chair, brow furrowed and pencil to her lips, reading glasses sliding down her nose.

Tim, for his part, had been scrolling on his phone mindlessly for about an hour, and was nearly horizontal from how much he had slid down the couch. Maybe he shouldn’t judge.

And then there was Martin, sat next to Tim on the couch, looking like the happiest man alive. He was asleep with Jon curled up almost entirely in his lap. Jon had been regressed almost all day, quiet and small and clingy. Smaller than normal, actually. They never really quantified it in terms of age, it wasn’t that exact of a science. But, as a general rule, the “smaller” he was, the more care he needed. Tim had watched Martin spoon-feed him Cheerios earlier, wiping the side of Jon’s mouth with a napkin as needed.

Tim was a little jealous, seeing Jon curled up in Martin’s lap. He was the newest one to this dynamic, so Jon tended to seek out Martin first and Sasha second, only giving Tim suspicious glances every now and then. He and Jon were close, otherwise. But there was a bit of a mental block, as Jon described it, when it came to this.

“It’s not that I don’t trust you,” Jon had explained to him once, scowling like he always did when he was embarrassed. “And obviously I’ve known you the longest, but… that almost makes it worse.” He’d been blushing as he said that, and Tim thought it was cute.

He didn’t judge him for it. He felt lucky that Jon even trusted him enough to show this side of himself around Tim.

But still, he was a little jealous.

Martin started shifting in his sleep and Jon made an unhappy noise, curling up tighter against Martin. Martin opened his eyes and winced.

“Jon… Jon, baby, you gotta get off of me.”

Jon whined.

“Just a second, okay? I’ve gotta go to the bathroom, I’ll be right back.”

Jon whined louder, stubbornly holding tightly onto Martin.

“Jon. C’mon, sweetheart.”

He gently maneuvered Jon off his lap and stood up. Jon sat on the couch, pouting. He didn’t always listen to logic when he felt this small, this deep in his headspace. He looked adorably ruffled, hair sticking up every which way. It was clear he wanted to be held, hands balled in his lap, frustrated.

“I’ll be right back. Do you want to go sit with Sasha for a little bit?”

Jon glanced at Sasha, then to Tim. To Tim’s surprise, he crawled over to him, and plopped himself in Tim’s lap, curling up and going back to sleep almost immediately.

Tim sat in shock, afraid to move even a millimeter, like Jon was a feral cat that had just sat in his lap for the first time. That was a pretty appropriate metaphor, actually.

Both Martin and Sasha stared, just as surprised as he was, then Martin grinned.

“I told you he’d come around,” Martin said, softly. Tim winked at him.

“...how mad do you think he’d be if I took a photo?” Sasha whispered.
