Brewing rarely and bottling a lot these last weeks. Today 270 bottles of 10% strawberry balvenie barleywine. This. Is. A. Lot. Of. Work. Dealing with fruit mush... as you can see the strawberrymush is at the Exit of the fermenter, so I made an improvised mesh filter bag and pumped it to the stainless, where I leave it for some days at 16degrees so it settles again so I can bottle. Took out some kilos of floating strawberry vanilla mush of the barleywine. After about 3 months it is more or less where i want it. Little strawberry taste for those 20kg/ 90l that I put in. But the oak is nicely perceptible and with the vanilla I think this will be a pleasant beer. Had a visit from @bierwerkstatt_nordsud today. Richie makes wonderful beers and is full with great information for a Greenhorn like me... i made a stout, a new recipe, got more liters that calculated, so I will end up at about 6.5%. Nice oxygen foamy wort in the tank. First time I used the chiller and inkbird, worked plug and play. Homemade mango NEIPA 6.5%. 3weeks after coldness. In my opinion lives up to any hype NEIPA outthere. Tropical stonefruits smooth. But has a flaw: much trub. Have to let a Finger high in the bottle. #firstpour of the mango NEIPA, finished at 6%, looks like it should, carbonation is perfect, aroma nice, but has more bitterness than intended. I think only with water adjustments I could make a nice soft mouthfeel. It has enough body. Look at all that floating debris in the second image. Bottling takes much longer with 100l than with 20l 馃槵bottled 216 bottles and an 18l keg of my mango neipa. Took me 3hours, incl cleanup. Tastes promising. I had my last 5 batches tested, so I can make legally correct labels. What can I say. There鈥檚 some serious beers incoming. 馃槀馃嵒 I am pretty happy with the results. Recipe: mango neipa 5.5%. Had a nice brewday. Start 8.10am- end 15.00, incl cleaning. Little malt pipe flow possible (15% open towards malt pipe) probably because of the amount of oats. And Brewtools advised me to not stir when mashing in. To keep the slimy proteins in the grain. Will try that next time. But efficiency was fine, undershot gravity but had 10l more, so that still is about 70% efficiency. First time I used those fruit pur茅e, smelled delicious and is quite expensive. Added at flameout. I copied mashschedule and fruit addition from diy dog recipes.
