Great to see people reading books on the metro but I found Ulysses impossible to read on busy metros and ended up rereading everything at least twice until I gave up on trying, and focused on places where I could actually read and follow what was happening. BLOOMSBIRTHDAY It was my friend's birthday on Bloomsday so I want Bloomsday themed birthday gifts. A little guide to Ulysses to introduce her to Joyce and Bloomsday, and some handmade leather products such as a penholder and Parker pen and leather notebook in case she wants to take up some writing too. COOK BOOK While waiting for some delicious Japanese take-away in Balón Tokio, I couldn't help but notice Maria in @crazymarylibreria stocking shelves in her beautiful bookstore where she has organised two joycean nights this year. You can clearly see the image of Joyce on one of the book shelves but I was unable to attend their centenary celebration of Ulysses on Groundhog Day. What a pity? Such a nice spot.
