Introduction: The Importance of Ad Sizes on Snapchat
Snapchat is renowned for its ephemeral content and highly engaged, predominantly younger audience, presenting unique challenges and opportunities for digital advertisers. Understanding the importance of ad sizes on Snapchat is crucial for ensuring visual quality, maximizing user engagement, and driving successful campaign outcomes. This article guides you through the optimal ad sizes for Snapchat advertising and explains why these dimensions are vital for your digital marketing strategy.
Snapchat Ad Formats and Optimal Sizes
Snap Ads: Engaging Users with Full-Screen Creatives
Snap Ads are full-screen vertical videos that appear between Stories or other Snapchat content. These ads can last up to 10 seconds, offering a concise format for delivering your message effectively.
Recommended Dimensions: 1080 x 1920 pixels
Aspect Ratio: 9:16
Using the correct dimensions ensures that Snap Ads display clearly and prominently, providing a seamless viewing experience without any distracting borders or cut-off content.
Sponsored Lenses: Interactive and Immersive Advertising
Snapchat Lenses allow users to interact with augmented reality experiences, which can be branded and tailored to promote specific products or events.
General Guidelines: While specific dimensions may vary based on the design, it’s essential to ensure that the Lens displays correctly on various devices. Collaborating with Snapchat’s creative team to optimize each Lens is crucial.
Lenses are particularly effective for engagement, encouraging users to play with branded filters and share them with friends.
Geofilters: Location-Based Branding
Custom Geofilters are graphical overlays available to Snapchat users within a specific geographic area, offering excellent visibility at events or in particular locations.
Recommended Dimensions: 1080 x 2340 pixels
Aspect Ratio: Varies, typically full-screen for maximum impact Proper sizing of Geofilters ensures they blend smoothly over users’ photos or videos without obscuring important visual elements.
Why Ad Sizes Matter in Snapchat Digital Advertising
Enhanced Visual Integrity
Correct ad sizes ensure your content is displayed as intended, without any quality loss or awkward cropping. This is crucial on a visual platform like Snapchat, where poor presentation can quickly deter user interest.
Improved User Engagement
Ads appropriately sized and formatted for Snapchat are more likely to hold the viewer’s attention and encourage interaction. Whether through watching a video, playing with a Lens, or using a Geofilter, clear and compelling visuals are key to maintaining user interest.
Increased Conversion Rates
Well-executed ads that fit Snapchat’s dimensional requirements are more likely to lead to higher conversion rates. Whether the goal is brand awareness, website visits, or direct sales, properly sized ads help create a smoother user journey from ad to action.
Conclusion: The Strategic Edge of Knowing Snapchat Ad Sizes For marketers aiming to tap into Snapchat’s dynamic and youthful audience, mastering the platform’s ad size specifications is not just a technical detail — it’s a strategic necessity. By optimizing ad dimensions, brands can enhance both the aesthetic appeal and performance of their campaigns, leading to better engagement and more effective advertising outcomes.

Maximizing Ad Visibility and Engagement in Social Media: The Essential Role of Safe Zones
Tumblr media
Introduction
In the world of digital advertising, cutting through the noise to stop the scroll is akin to an artist painting on an ever-evolving canvas. With a vast array of platforms across the social media landscape, marketers must not only come up with eye-catching creatives and compelling messages but also utilize platform-specific features that maximize their ads’ visibility and engagement. Understanding these “safe zones” ensures that your brand’s message not only reaches its audience but does so with clarity and engagement.
Understanding Safe Zones in Social Media Advertising
Safe zones refer to the designated areas on a social media platform where an ad can appear without being cut off or obstructed by other elements such as user interfaces, icons, comments, or hashtags. These zones vary across platforms due to different user interfaces and functionalities.
Today, where and how your creative elements are placed can directly impact performance. Whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok, each platform has its own intricate guidelines of safe zones designed to cater to the unique user experience and content consumption patterns.
Ad design that plays by the rules of these safe zones is not about chasing trends; it’s about understanding and respecting the spaces where users’ attention is naturally drawn.
The Blueprint for Safe Zone Ad Creation
To craft ads that resonate within the safe zones, it’s crucial to align with the technical specifications and guidelines set by each platform. Below are the cornerstones of an effective safe zone advertising strategy.
The Mandate of Format and Size
Every social media platform has its own specifications for ad creatives. From the aspect ratio of your videos to the number of characters in your captions, these technical details are integral to the viewing experience. Ignoring them risks having your content cropped, stretched, or obscured, leading to a suboptimal user experience.
Conforming to these standards ensures that your ads seamlessly blend in with the user’s feed. Being precise with your ad production can prevent the dismay of an unintended crop or a dislocated headline.
Visual Engagement: Beyond the Border
Beyond mere adherence to dimensions, the visual appeal of your ad dictates whether your intended audience keeps scrolling or stops to explore further. Incorporate vibrant, high-quality images or videos with striking visuals. Use animation or motion to catch the eye and hold attention.
The elements within the safe zone should be not just visible but engaging. A well-designed ad pulls the viewer into its narrative, combining the art of storytelling with the science of visual psychology.
Text and CTA Placement: The Core of the Safe Zone
While visuals are crucial, the real heart of an ad lies in its text and call to action. These elements are typically situated at the top or bottom of the ad and within the safe zone. Craft compelling headlines and descriptions that complement the visual story. Ensure that your CTA is both clear and accessible, so the user is just a tap away from your conversion funnel.
The amount of text should be concise enough not to clutter the ad while still delivering the core message. Safe zone optimization is as much about what’s outside of it — the whitespace that provides visual respite — as it is about what’s within.
Safe Zone Templates
On platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels, ads often face issues like icons on the right side, text at the bottom, dead space at the top, and cropped content on the sides. Safe zones ensure that these elements do not adversely affect captions and screen shares. Jon Loomer Digital suggests the use of templates combining safe zones for various platforms, ensuring visibility across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
Aspect Ratios
Aspect ratios are crucial for displaying ads correctly on all devices. For instance, Instagram Stories and Reels ads should ideally use a 9:16 full-screen format. Strike Social emphasizes the importance of using the right aspect ratios and staying within Instagram’s safe zones to enhance ad engagement and conversions.
Best Practices for Different Platforms
While the overarching principles of safe zone advertising are universal, the execution varies across social media platforms. Each social media platform has specific recommendations for video formats, dimensions, and file sizes. Here’s a platform-by-platform breakdown of the best practices for respecting these digital “safe zones.”
Whether it’s a Stories format on Facebook and Instagram or a vertical video on TikTok, most platforms boast high completion rates but short lifespans. To ensure that viewers take in your entire message, focus on vertical creatives with key details in the middle of the frame — well clear of the top and bottom safe zones — and use animation to keep the narrative moving. Be concise and to the point and use the center of the frame for your ad’s primary content.
TikTok:
Recommends a vertical format of 9:16 with dimensions more than or equal to 540x960px. The file size should be less than or equal to 500 MB. TikTok Ads Manager suggests using high-resolution videos without watermarks and ensuring all video creatives have sound.
Instagram:
Supports an aspect ratio of 9:16. Advertisers should focus on using taller aspect ratios for a more engaging mobile experience.
Facebook:
Recommends a minimum dimension of 600x1067px and a maximum aspect ratio of 4.5:1. Facebook Business stresses using vertical videos with transparent backgrounds or solid colors to avoid cropping on smaller screens.
Snapchat:
Suggests a vertical format with an aspect ratio of 9:16. A standard placement ad is 3 to 6 seconds long and non-skippable. An Extended Play ad is 3 to 180 seconds long, but only the first 6 seconds are non-skippable.
Measuring Impact: The ROI of Safe Zone Strategy
A creative safe zone strategy is not only about presenting your ad in its best light but also about leveraging data to refine and improve its performance continually. Utilize A/B testing to gauge the effectiveness of different ad elements, and follow the analytics provided by each platform to understand how viewers engage with your content.
Digital advertising is dynamic and everchanging; what works today may not work tomorrow. Stay agile, continue to experiment with new features and formats, and keep your finger on the pulse of changes in social media trends and interface designs.
The Future is Safe: AI and Safe Zone Advertising
Understanding and implementing safe zones in social media advertising is crucial for maximizing ad visibility and engagement. Artificial intelligence can analyze and adapt to the complex web of safe zone requirements across multiple platforms, allowing for a data-driven approach to crafting effective ads. By leveraging AI, creatives can be tested and optimized at a speed and scale far beyond human capability.
Ad Creative.ai is at the forefront of this AI revolution, providing large organizations with access to cutting-edge technology that ensures their ads are optimized for engagement and results. Through a robust suite of AI-powered tools, marketers can ensure their content is not just seen but absorbed and acted upon by its intended audience.

Innovative Sparks: Unveiling 7 Methods for Unconventional Ideation
Thriving enterprises thrive on the fuel of ingenuity. Whether the goal is to refine conventional protocols or champion novel endeavors, a steady stream of fresh ideas is the lifeblood that prevents stagnation. Yet, the arena of idea generation often resembles a labyrinth, with disparate musings and tangential meanderings threatening to hijack the spotlight from more pressing matters.
Thankfully, a plethora of methodologies exist to cultivate focus and breed innovation. Discovering the apt technique for one’s team heralds the dawn of a proven pathway, transforming seemingly outlandish concepts into actionable innovation.
Definition of Ideation: Peering Into the Realm of Creativity
Ideation, or idea generation, emerges as the collaborative crucible wherein ideas are born and nurtured. It heralds the commencement of the ideation journey, wherein abstract, tangible, or visual concepts are woven into the fabric of possibility, paving the way for solutions or the exploration of uncharted territories.
Cultivating an ecosystem that embraces novel ideas bestows upon teams and organizations the resilience to weather market vicissitudes and navigate the undulating terrain of consumer demands. Whether a marketing cadre orchestrates a campaign or product custodians embark on the quest for expansion, the crucible of ideation, replete with diverse perspectives, acts as the catalyst for innovation. The kaleidoscopic array of viewpoints enriches the tapestry of proposals, fostering a fertile ground for pioneering insights and strategic triumphs.
The Merits of a Proactive Ideation Paradigm
The art of creative ruminations transmutes nebulous ideations into transformative tides, propelling one’s team to the zenith of industry prowess. Herein lie several tangible benefits of effective idea generation:
Endowed with a Competitive Edge: A judiciously selected ideation framework unleashes the latent potential of one’s team, birthing initiatives that set them apart in the competitive landscape. Embracing avant-garde brainstorming methodologies does not entail an unwavering commitment to every whimsical notion; rather, it serves as the crucible wherein forward-thinking concepts are forged. Armed with an arsenal of innovative ideas, one is poised to refine them into products or services that resonate with the zeitgeist of consumer needs and market trends.
Augmented Team Engagement and Morale: Astutely devised ideation methodologies engender a sense of collective ownership, empowering team members to perceive themselves as indispensable cogs in the organizational machinery. As insights metamorphose into actionable blueprints, the seeds of collaboration, productivity, and unfettered communication burgeon.
Facilitates Proactive Problem-solving: Proactively engaging in solution generation confers the ability to preempt challenges, thereby obviating the need for eleventh-hour scrambles. Consistent brainstorming endeavors, laser-focused on the pursuit of enhancement, serve as the lodestar that illuminates the labyrinth of potential hurdles, affording ample leeway for anticipatory problem-solving. This foresighted approach facilitates nimble strategy adjustments and enables one to capitalize on nascent opportunities.
Seven Paradigms for Ideation Exploration
In pursuit of catalyzing innovation, consider integrating the following ideation modalities into your repertoire:
Cerebral Cartography: Mind mapping transcends the realm of visual delineation, metamorphosing into a structured conduit for organizing labyrinthine troves of information and concepts. Envision embarking on a maiden voyage to launch a nascent product. In the realm of mind mapping, the nascent product assumes its rightful place at the heart of the canvas, with tendrils of thought spiraling forth to delineate major categories such as marketing, product design, and distribution. This visual tableau not only lends clarity to project intricacies but also underscores interdependencies, fostering collaborative synergy while preserving a panoramic vista of overarching objectives.
Blue Firmament Deliberations: Blue sky thinking, synonymous with unfettered brainstorming, invites one and all to revel in the untrammeled expanse of creativity. In the crucible of nascent project incubation, team members cast aside the shackles of specificity, allowing ideas to percolate sans constraint or convention. While the ensuing cacophony of voices may appear chaotic, the emphasis on quantity over quality serves as the crucible wherein epoch-making concepts gestate. Upon the cessation of brainstorming, fanciful reveries are relegated to the annals of impracticality, while viable propositions metamorphose into actionable strategies aligned with the ethos of the product vision.
Scriptorial Musings: In the realm of brainwriting, the cacophony of voices yields to the tranquil rustle of quills upon parchment. Here, denizens of ideation commit their ruminations to paper, unleashing a torrent of creativity that circumvents the auditory reticence plaguing certain members. As scrolls traverse the circumference of the ideation circle, each participant contributes a kernel of insight, be it an augmentation of extant notions or the articulation of hitherto unexplored vistas. Thus, the crucible of brainwriting catalyzes a symphony of inclusivity, nurturing an ecosystem wherein divergent perspectives coalesce to spawn innovative ideations.
SCAMPERing Across the Ideational Landscape: SCAMPER, an acronym denoting Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate, and Reverse, emerges as the quintessential conduit for the reimagining of extant paradigms. For teams endeavoring to infuse vitality into their offerings, SCAMPER unfurls a structured tapestry wherein enhancements and new trajectories intertwine. Picture a product development coterie grappling with the imperative of revitalizing a time-worn commodity to align with contemporary consumer proclivities. Deploying the SCAMPER methodology, they traverse a labyrinth of possibilities, contemplating a myriad of permutations and combinations. The prompt to “substitute” may herald the substitution of materials to effectuate cost savings, while the prompt to “adapt” may elicit insights into tailoring the product to cater to nascent demographics.
Theatrical Deliberations: At times, the act of extricating oneself from the confines of professional identity serves as the crucible wherein transformative insights gestate. Role-playing, an exercise in cognitive metamorphosis, exhorts one to don the mantle of the end user, viewing products and processes through the prism of consumer perspicacity. Envisage the endeavor of crafting a mobile application

The Future is Secure: AI and Secure Area Ads
In the realm of online promotion, breaking through the cacophony to halt the scrolling motion resembles an artisan painting on an ever-transforming canvas. With a myriad of platforms dotting the social media domain, marketers must not only devise visually arresting advertisements and compelling messages but also harness platform-specific functionalities that amplify the visibility and interaction of their ads. Grasping these “secure areas” ensures that your brand’s communication not only reaches its target demographic but does so with precision and engagement.
Understanding Secure Areas in Social Media Marketing
Secure areas denote the allocated zones on a social media interface where an advertisement can appear without being truncated or obstructed by other elements such as UI components, icons, comments, or hashtags. These regions differ across platforms due to distinct interfaces and operational features.
Today, the placement and configuration of creative elements can directly influence effectiveness. Be it Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok, each platform adheres to its own intricate guidelines regarding secure areas tailored to suit the unique user experience and content consumption habits.
Crafting ads that conform to the guidelines of these secure areas is not about following fads; it’s about comprehending and honoring the spaces where users’ attention naturally gravitates.
The Framework for Creating Secure Area Ads
To fashion ads that resonate within the confines of secure areas, it’s imperative to adhere to the technical specifications and guidelines prescribed by each platform. Herein lie the pillars of a potent secure area advertising strategy.
The Directive of Structure and Magnitude
Every social media platform imposes its own criteria for ad creatives. From the aspect ratio of videos to the character count in captions, these technical intricacies are pivotal to the viewing experience. Disregarding them risks having your content cropped, stretched, or obscured, thereby compromising user experience.
Adhering to these standards ensures seamless integration of your ads into the user’s feed. Precise ad production mitigates the frustration of unintended cropping or misplacement of headlines.
Visual Engagement: Expanding Beyond Limits
Beyond mere compliance with dimensions, the visual allure of your ad determines whether your intended audience scrolls past or pauses to explore further. Integrate vibrant, high-definition images or videos with captivating visuals. Employ animation or motion to capture attention and sustain engagement.
Elements within the secure area should not merely be visible but enthralling. A well-crafted ad draws the viewer into its narrative, blending the art of storytelling with the science of visual psychology.
Placement of Text and CTA: The Essence of Secure Areas
While visuals are pivotal, the true essence of an ad lies in its textual content and call to action. These components are typically positioned at the top or bottom of the ad, within the secure area. Develop compelling headlines and descriptions that complement the visual narrative. Ensure that your call to action is both explicit and accessible, facilitating seamless progression through the conversion funnel.
The amount of text should be concise enough to avoid cluttering the ad while effectively conveying the core message. Optimization of the secure area encompasses not only its contents but also the whitespace that offers visual relief.
Templates for Secure Areas
On platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels, ads often encounter challenges such as icons on the right side, text at the bottom, empty space at the top, and cropped content on the sides. Secure areas guarantee that these elements do not impede captions and screen sharing. Jon Loomer Digital advocates for the use of templates integrating secure areas for various platforms, ensuring visibility across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
Proportions
Aspect ratios play a pivotal role in displaying ads accurately across all devices. For instance, Instagram Stories and Reels ads ideally adopt a 9:16 full-screen format. Strike Social underscores the significance of employing appropriate aspect ratios and adhering to Instagram’s secure areas to enhance ad engagement and conversions.
Optimal Methods for Different Platforms
While the fundamental principles of secure area advertising remain universal, the execution varies across social media platforms. Each platform offers specific recommendations for video formats, dimensions, and file sizes. Here’s a platform-specific breakdown of the optimal methods for respecting these digital “secure areas.”
TikTok: Recommends a vertical format with an aspect ratio of 9:16, with dimensions exceeding or equal to 540x960px. The file size should not exceed 500 MB. TikTok Ads Manager advocates for the use of high-resolution videos devoid of watermarks and ensuring all video creatives include sound.
Instagram: Supports an aspect ratio of 9:16. Advertisers should prioritize taller aspect ratios for a more immersive mobile experience.
Facebook: Recommends a minimum dimension of 600x1067px and a maximum aspect ratio of 4.5:1. Facebook Business underscores the use of vertical videos with transparent backgrounds or solid colors to prevent cropping on smaller screens.

How to create a vision board and manifest your dreams
Visions are inherently illuminating. They offer the mind's-eye a fresh perspective, incorporating new information into one’s everyday thoughts.
It’s no wonder people tack up motivational phrases like “If you can think it, you can do it” in offices, and businesses across industries leverage techniques like vision boards.
And vision boards aren’t restricted to professional goals. Engaged couples create them to brainstorm picture-perfect weddings, and students make them to decide how to decorate college dorms. You, too, can learn how to create a vision board to understand and accomplish your goals.
What’s a vision board?
A vision board, or manifest board, is a digital or physical collage of images representing a goal. A person planning a vacation might populate their vision board with pictures of white sand beaches, turquoise water, and piña coladas. And a business owner launching a restaurant could collect images of interior design inspiration or meal-plating ideas.
How do vision boards work?
Vision boards won’t make dreams come true, but they can help you chase your goals. These collages let you work out what you want and serve as a constant reminder of that dream.
One of the primary purposes of vision boards is to generate a positive-thinking loop. Positive thinking has several benefits, like stress reduction and better physical and psychological well-being. And when daydreaming about what to include on your vision board, you’re filled with positive thoughts, like doing yoga on a beach or receiving a promotion. After creating this board, you see a constant reminder of these lovely things you hope to achieve. And once you accomplish the goals you’ve set on your board, you can return to it to remind yourself of your capabilities.
The benefits of creating a vision board
At the very least, making a vision board is a fun free-time activity that allows you to dream big and try on different versions of the future. Vision boards also:
Solidify ideas — consider the house-building example. Upon selecting images, you might start out with dozens of designs you like that don’t necessarily mesh. Making the board helps you rule out options to define what you want.
Encourage you to manifest — no, saying you want something won’t make it appear. But voicing ideas and desires helps you determine your goals and move toward them. A vision board allows you to state that you want a new home, an island vacation, or your own business.
Increase proactivity — most people will experience a loss of control in life at some point. But you’re often actually in charge, and a vision board helps you recognize that. When you state your intentions and create a clear image of what you want, you can take proactive steps toward the goal and avoid situations that could throw you off course or waste your time.
Do vision boards work?
Vision boards work, but only if you do, too. After pinpointing a goal, you must take active steps toward it. You have to save for that vacation, home, or new business to make the dream a reality. And while it’s inspiring to dream big, if you set an unrealistic goal, you might feel discouraged when you’re not living the “board life” in the time frame you’d hoped.
Vision boards work best when you consider all potential opportunities, decide on ones that excite you, and feel you have the energy, willpower, and financial resources to build your dream.
How to make a vision board in 4 simple steps
Grab your scissors and a glue stick, or open your design app of choice — it’s time to create a vision board. There are no rules, so let yourself explore, using the following four steps to organize your process.
Start with a theme
Every vision board should have a theme. While it may be tempting to think broadly, you might feel overwhelmed by a board with too many random ideas. Choose a finite and specific objective and use the process of making the board to gain clarity. If you have several ideas for boards, make one for each goal.
Collect images
If you plan to create a physical board, clip images from magazines or print them from the internet. And if you’re making a digital board, use Pinterest to gather pictures or search stock photo libraries.
In this step, think broadly and openly, collecting images that feel right. If you’re creating a collage around your dream vacation, save that image of someone doing yoga on the beach, even if you’ve never tried it. Your pull toward that image may cue you into something new you wish to try.
Make your collage
Arrange your board in a way you think looks good. This is an intuitive act, so there’s no right way to do it. Shift your cut-outs or digital images until you’re pleased with the layout, adding motivational and informative text if you want.
Keep the vision board close
While making a vision board grounds your thinking, it’s only the first step in reaching your objective. As you take action toward your goal, like saving money, revisit your board and let it motivate you. Display it on your desk, as a computer screen background (if digital), or on your refrigerator.
Don’t worry about finding a forever home for the board. If you want to move it to the bedroom or hang it next to the bathroom mirror later, feel free to do so.
Vision boards for work
Consider working with your team to create vision boards regarding specific projects or broader company objectives. Say your company is developing a new workout app. Gather the team and work together to collect images representing how the product should look or make clients feel. And if collecting images doesn’t work for your team, create a vision board or chart with words and phrases.
Turn your dream into reality with Notion
Create a vision board, from start to finish, with Notion. Our vision board dashboard walks first-time users through signing up for Notion, creating a page, and exploring their goals. Then dreamers can share this vision with friends, family, and coworkers — in just a few clicks.

Effectively manage change with an organizational development strategy
Tumblr media
Effectively managing change through an organizational development strategy is crucial in today's dynamic business environment. Despite its inevitability, change often triggers discomfort among employees who are accustomed to their routines, and leaders may find it challenging to steer teams away from complacency.
To tackle this resistance to change, managers frequently turn to multifaceted organizational development (OD) plans. These plans provide a structured framework to define, communicate, and implement significant changes in company culture and protocols, ensuring employees adapt smoothly throughout the process.
Understanding Organizational Development: Organizational Development (OD) is a research-backed methodology aimed at transforming a company's processes to enhance efficiency, adaptability to changing circumstances, and overall competitiveness. Leaders employing an OD approach typically start by analyzing data to pinpoint potential issues within current operations. They then intervene to modify behaviors and solidify new practices aligned with desired objectives. OD is instrumental in steering business structures, systems, and cultures towards new goals for optimal success.
Organizational Development versus Human Resources: While there's overlap between OD and Human Resources (HR) functions, OD's scope extends beyond HR's responsibilities. OD focuses on implementing broad, system-wide changes to foundational aspects of a company's operations, such as long-term vision or growth initiatives. On the other hand, HR primarily focuses on managing employee welfare and day-to-day operations, although they may assist in implementing OD interventions like training and mentorship programs.
Importance of Organizational Development: Organizational Development initiatives foster flexibility within teams, enabling companies to adjust or revamp operations for enhanced efficiency. By consistently applying OD principles, organizations can avoid unproductive frameworks and feedback loops. Key benefits of OD include:
Improving adaptability: OD facilitates quick and smooth systemic changes by enabling leaders to analyze data, develop strategies, and implement policy changes to adapt to evolving circumstances.
Minimizing disruptive changes: Recognizing employees' natural resistance to change, OD plans incorporate interventions like mentoring, training, and team-building workshops to support smooth transitions.
Fostering employee growth: Many OD interventions also serve as valuable professional development opportunities, enhancing knowledge sharing, efficiency, and productivity while boosting retention and job satisfaction.
Cultivating a culture of improvement: OD instills an improvement-focused mindset, encouraging teams to continuously seek opportunities to optimize operations and maintain a competitive edge.
Explaining the Organizational Development Process: While numerous OD models exist, many draw inspiration from psychologist Kurt Lewin's three-phase model:
Unfreezing: Identify improvement areas within current operations, set clear objectives, and communicate changes to employees to prepare them for transition.
Changing: Introduce strategies aligned with new objectives, offering support through mentoring, mediation, and team-building workshops.
Refreezing: Reinforce new habits and protocols, continually assessing operations and celebrating successes while guiding employees to maintain the changes.
Common Organizational Development Interventions: Interventions are specific actions or strategies aimed at promoting behavioral change to achieve desired business outcomes. Common interventions include:
Mentorship and training programs: Facilitate knowledge transfer and clarify organizational changes.
Team-building workshops: Strengthen communication and collaboration to facilitate smoother transitions.
Process consultation: Empower employees to develop and implement solutions, enhancing problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
Conflict resolution and change management: Address interpersonal conflicts promptly and professionally to ensure smooth transitions.
Tracking Organizational Change and Development with Notion: Implementing OD successfully requires effective communication and knowledge sharing. Notion templates can assist in organizing and incorporating change objectives, facilitating performance improvement plans and monitoring employee feedback, thus aiding in swift adaptation to shifting policies and goals.

The crucial moments and decisions leading up to the launch of Notion AI
Tumblr media
Nearly a year ago, my Co-Founder Simon and I found ourselves brainstorming over tacos, pondering how we could integrate AI into Notion. Our team-building offsite had dwindled to just the two of us, and we extended our stay by three days to finalize our prototypes.
In a whirlwind, less than a month later, we launched Notion AI in private alpha, expecting a couple of hundred thousand sign-ups on the waitlist. To our astonishment, over 2 million people showed interest.
Since then, millions have embraced Notion’s AI Writer and AI Autofill, utilizing them for content summarization, brainstorming, drafting, translations, and enhancing writing and grammar. Just recently, we introduced Q&A, another AI tool that scours your workspace for answers to your questions.
Reflecting on the months preceding the launch of Notion AI, pivotal moments and decisions shaped our trajectory.
Initially, we were underwhelmed by early AI capabilities. A visit to OpenAI’s office in 2019, where we witnessed a GPT-3 demo, left us skeptical. The model’s responses felt artificial and lacked depth.
However, our perspective shifted over the following months. Simon closely monitored advancements in the AI landscape, particularly captivated by DALL-E’s capabilities. By early 2021, his experiments with DALL-E showcased its potential for generating remarkable images.
In the fall of 2022, early access to GPT-4 proved transformative. Its heightened intelligence marked a turning point, demonstrating AI’s capacity to augment human thinking and problem-solving.
Inspired by these developments, we embarked on a pivotal offsite where we prototyped Notion AI. In the quiet of our hotel room, amidst late-night taco sessions reminiscent of Notion’s early days, we honed our vision.
Key decisions emerged during this period. We recognized the need for a novel UI tailored to AI writing, departing from conventional form-based interfaces. Balancing pre-packaged prompts with customizable text inputs, we aimed to cater to diverse user preferences.
Determining AI’s accessibility via the spacebar, we prioritized simplicity and immediacy in user experience. Opting for AI to be on by default, we aimed for seamless integration within Notion’s framework.
Exploring potential use cases like Q&A and global search, we envisioned AI as a tool to expedite information retrieval and streamline workflows.
Following this intensive prototyping phase, we launched Notion AI in private alpha, navigating logistical challenges amid a trip to Japan. Balancing launch preparations with commitments in Kyoto, where Notion’s journey began, evoked a sense of culmination and anticipation.
Since its launch, Notion AI has evolved, guided by user feedback and our commitment to democratizing AI. As we look ahead, our focus remains on empowering users, ensuring AI serves as a catalyst for creativity and problem-solving.
In essence, our mission persists: leveraging technology to address user needs effectively. With AI as our ally, we’re eager to embark on this journey of innovation and empowerment

How to Accurately Calculate Your Company’s AI ROI: Unveiling the Genuine Impact
Tumblr media
Despite the prevalent chatter about the productivity gains associated with AI, few have ventured into quantifying them. True business productivity hinges on employees — those who dedicate hours daily to information search, plan refinement, and document editing.
AI, when seamlessly integrated into our work processes, has the potential to liberate us from mundane tasks, thus saving valuable time that can be redirected towards more critical and rewarding endeavors.
This assertion finds validation in market data. We conducted a survey encompassing hundreds of Notion AI customers, including users of Q&A, the new information retrieval tool by Notion AI. The findings were resolute — 74% reported increased productivity owing to AI, with an average weekly time-saving of 69 minutes on information search, affording them more time for essential tasks and fostering a sense of enhanced knowledge and awareness.
Can these benefits be quantified monetarily? Absolutely. Here’s a guide on how you can gauge the probable ROI of AI investment within your own organization.
The Predicament of Information Management We find ourselves inundated with more information than ever before.
On average, small companies employ 69 apps to manage their operations, a figure that can soar beyond 200 for larger enterprises. Employees spend approximately 3 hours per day scouring for essential information, often fruitlessly, during critical junctures.
The conundrum of app overload coupled with numerous critical moments — each project spawning countless meetings and subsequently, copious notes, action items, and updates — culminates in a data deluge that becomes arduous to navigate when most needed. The repercussions of this information management quandary are palpable yet distressing — a third of workers confess to feeling burnt out due to information inaccessibility, while knowledge workers assert spending 58% of their day on “work about work.”
So, how do we optimize work efficiency?
AI: The Information Retrieval Panacea When faced with a work-related query, how do you seek resolution?
You could embark on a quest for the information yourself, a process consuming several minutes. Alternatively, you might seek assistance from a colleague, necessitating time for explanation and response. The ensuing exchange might span several minutes or, worse still, hours if met with silence.
With AI, however, you can pose your question and obtain an immediate response. Notion users leveraging Q&A pose an average of 2.7 questions per day, with the majority reporting time savings of at least 5 minutes per query. At an organizational level, these efficiencies compound:
Osaka Gas, boasting ~3,000 employees, projects a 35% reduction in information search time. Remote.com, with ~1,400 employees, saves an estimated 10 minutes per search, executing 300 Q&A queries daily.
Furthermore, AI streamlines tedious tasks such as meeting note summarization, outline and draft generation, and database updates. Utilizing survey data, we can extrapolate weekly time savings for a 100-person company leveraging Notion AI:
Your specific time savings may vary contingent upon usage and employee adoption rate.
While AI might exacerbate tool proliferation within companies burdened by disparate apps, Notion AI seamlessly integrates into existing workflows. Tasking ChatGPT with summarizing meeting notes on Google Docs entails a laborious 5-step process. In contrast, Notion AI condenses this task into a single step.
When employees engage with AI within a familiar tool, work becomes more efficient and enjoyable, potentially yielding a bolstered bottom line.
Estimating Your Notion AI ROI The hours salvaged translate into tangible monetary gains on a per-employee basis. Though the ultimate aim is to enhance revenue per employee, we’ve collaborated directly with customers to elucidate how time savings equate to ROI. Below is the formula devised collaboratively, enabling you to estimate ROI from adopting Notion AI:
First, estimate daily time savings across the company by utilizing Q&A:
2.7 Q&A queries per day × # of employees using Q&A × .08 hours saved per query = x hours saved per workday
Next, calculate the annual value of these time savings:
hours saved per workday × average hourly wage × 249 workdays per year = $y cost savings per year For instance:
Assuming 100 Notion employees earning an average of $50/hour, with an estimated 33% adoption rate for Q&A:
Your annual time saved = 2.7 queries/day × 100 employees × .0833 hours saved/query × 249 workdays × 33% adoption rate = 1,848 hours
The annual value of these time savings = 1,848 hours saved × $50/hour = $92,400
It’s remarkable how Notion AI, merely a year old, has already begun realizing such impactful outcomes. There’s ample room for further growth and learning. We trust these insights will aid you in embracing the future of work as an AI-empowered entity. Explore more and calculate your AI ROI here

How Multivariate Testing By AI Makes Ad Creatives That Convert
Tumblr media
What Is Multivariate Testing?
Multivariate testing is a method of ad testing where various interchangeable elements of an advertisement are examined simultaneously. For instance, in a Facebook ad, elements like headlines, calls to action, images or videos, and descriptions or post copies can be tested for performance.
How Is Multivariate Testing Different Than A/B Testing?
Unlike A/B testing, which compares only two variations of an ad, multivariate testing allows for the evaluation of multiple ad elements simultaneously. This provides a more comprehensive understanding of which variables contribute to the success or failure of an ad.
What Are The Benefits Of Multivariate Testing?
Multivariate testing offers a deeper insight into ad performance, eliminating guesswork and leading to higher conversion rates. By testing a wide range of variables, including seemingly minor details like colors or wording, marketers can uncover insights that may have been overlooked otherwise.
