I loooove town/city rps, but you're right - they usually need something extra to keep people going, so something like a mystery or event (like maybe everyone has to return to the town for some reason), the more interconnected the character are in different ways the better! Like you could have pre-made connections and every character has like 4/5

town/city groups are by far the best ones imo. i love the amount of stuff you can do in them?? but yeah, i’ve seen the return one done a few times and they just sort of…lose purpose? and then it dies or no one really does anything with that particular element of the plot. as for the connections, i actually don’t like admin chosen connections most of the time? because they’re poorly chosen and never actually thought out. also other players don’t help with furthering the connection in my experience. & since i typically lean more towards twin/sibling/oc friendly groups, they’re practically impossible to do in that sort of group without a lot of confusion. 

i also feel like most town/city rps that have a plot are inspired by shows? pll, riverdale, gossip girl. i’ll even admit i’ve done my fair share of gg plots. a couple of pll ones too.

multiples or siblings zombie apocalypse or dystopia future

i find it hard to do zombie or dystopian groups because they’re ALL in person. so it’s not my personal cup of tea. they can be v interesting and i’ve seen some really well done ones in the past, but yeeeeeeah… can’t get behind it from an admin perspective sadly. maybe as a player tho? so send if you or anyone you know makes one, please send it to me!

ngl?? this is my usual thing tbh?? but the tea is that most players aren’t willing to stick around unless theres a plot or even some type of plot drop. you may get 20 apps and all but only a quarter of those will stick, and they’re typically friends. im trying to find a good middle, but if i’ll probably just do this if i don’t. def noted tho. thank u!!

I'd love a small town roleplay where the population is under 200. I had an idea of 'one of everything' roleplay where they operate with one of everything; for example, 1 high school, 1 middle school, 1 hospital, 1 Walmart, 1 Starbucks, 1 Best Buy, 1 auto repair shop, etc. But I felt that I would need someone else to help with it and IDK if I'd find someone.

(ask 2) I’d also really love a twins/multiples ask roleplay. I think it’s been done like once or twice and the one I was in was so much fun.

under 200 population may be cool for a smaller/canon group? so def not my cup of tea atm. HOWEVERRR, i think it’d pair really well with your one of everything idea? especially if the right person does it and can write the plot up properly. the only problem you’ll run into for something like that is occupations in a smaller town would be limited since most franchises/corporate businesses wouldn’t be there, so it’d all be town ran/options are limited, you know? but it’d work really well as a smaller group of 10, maybe. !!! you should def advertise for a coadmin if you really wanna do it because i think either idea would be awesome if you were able to find a decent person to help!!

i’m not sure if there has been any ask rps done recently in the grpc as a whole, but i think if everyone in it would actually send their asks??? it’d be amazing. i was never in one because the canons i actually play are always taken, but i think twins would be interesting af.

This idea has already been done and stolen twice. Did you talk to the people behind any of the more original versions of this before taking their ideas?

I’m only going to answer this once, but this is not an original idea. People have been writing in multiple verses, over the course of time since roleplaying began. The glee rpc didn’t invent this idea, and we are presenting it in our own way. 

If you are concerned that the concept behind this roleplay isn’t ‘the original version’, then neither are ask roleplays, redo roleplays, multiple roleplays, next gen roleplays, or any other variation of roleplay that you currently see in the tags. 

A concept cannot be stolen, when it’s something as simple as ‘switching AUs over the course of time’, but if you see plagiarized work, stolen graphics, specific plot devices or biographies anywhere on this page and then feel free to point this out, but that’s not something you will find here.

hello! im trying to use your 'false alarm' theme, but whenever i upload a pattern, it fills the entire box instead of just the borders, is there any way to fix that? thank you so much!!

Every color option must have a color in the customize page. In this case, it’d be entries and sidebar. If you find yourself with blue links, white borders, blue borders, etc—you’d use those options instead. As you may have noticed upon uploading, my themes come entirely blank. The only colors that may show up are ones you used in the previous theme that had the same meta name. This makes things transparent in some cases.

edit - 2 months later, yikes: if you want a work around for the colors that carry over, temporarily install the generic tumblr theme from the theme garden, and then paste/install the theme you’d like to use. this removes all previous variables used. the reason your “borders” are showing is because the color wasn’t set so was showing up as transparent.

Sorry to bother you, I'm just having a lot of trouble with: False Alarm's (#06) post area, none of the things I reblog and or post seem to fit in the boarders and usually overlap the other post. Can I just get the accurate area of the boarders so, I know which size to make my canvas? Thank you so much, have a nice day.

hi there. make sure you have selected a post width option in the customize section. when you install the theme, there will be three toggles. one says 250 posts, another 400 and the last 500. make sure only one is toggled on. try toggling them on and off, refreshing, and then trying again as well! if that’s not the issue and you haven’t played with any of the coding then i suggest either screencapping & sending me a link to the picture through imgur, coming off-anon through an ask or IMs so i can look at your coding, etc. also make sure you have the new option in the customize page toggled off. (it says something about new post types! sorry i’m mobile!)
