Apparently the boss has been in dealings with some guy who’s been coming over at like midnight for weeks now. According to what Ismene saw he looks like a wannabe spaceman with blue hair, the camera footage was extremely grainy and sometimes the Aqua boss joins them. Anyone have any idea who they could be?

Is it normal for a Pokémon to skip evolution stages? Because well…
I’ve never had a Golbat. Well Basalt was a Golbat for three seconds and immediately evolved again. I was on a mission not expecting that. On the plus side she destroyed some Aqua grunts Zubat.
…She needs a new bow.

Definitely need to go to the appraiser soon. Been on a bit of a training kick and I think I just saw Basalt lace her wings with poison as she’s been getting much stronger. Currently I’m helping set up a Zubat play net and making sure it has enough toys. Basalt is working her way through a Lum berry. So I currently have no clue what her or any of my other Pokémon’s levels are.

Hm. I can respect a team trying to help their region. And I can respect that you guys plan to try had relocate your legendary to a more hidden place once you let it go back to sleep.
Also. Regirock named Geo-vanni… that’s hilarious I need to find a way to contact the boss and tell him…
( @custapandcrobats )
Yeah always expect the rock puns. Especially in team Magma. We’re like 70% rock nerds 20% general nerds who are also jokesters and the other 10% including me are just along for the ride. It’s a general good time whenever we’re off the clock. Geo-vanni does have hat that the scientists keep putting on him. Apparently he looks snazzy with it. I’ll see if I can talk to Ismene for a photo of the Regirock as she works in records.

Hey, just realized that there hasn’t been a morning speech today. The Saturday ones are typically the best ones, I think something’s happening. While walking past the Boss’s office I heard him on a call with someone named Cyrus? Any clue who he could be?
I’m just weirded out as in my years here the only time he hasn’t given the Saturday speeches is when he’d sick and he typically has Tabitha give them then. The days off for the next week have been announced and there’s less than usual.

Honestly as much as I’d hate to say it, it is correct, apologies for the Numel info dump. With two Numel with vastly different temperaments you have to be very aware of their characteristics, one extremely calm and peaceful once even falling asleep in the middle of battle, the other one highly aggressive with a biting issue.
Merpkins, my calmer Numel is an absolute darling I never even realized for years that he knew anything other than Growl and Tackle however I was very much aware of the dangers of his magma since I got him. He’s nearly set many different fires and even before joining team Magma a vast majority of my stuff and all of my clothes were fully fire proof and he still burnt a lot of my clothing. Honestly I’m luckily no Numel is even half as active as a Poochyena. However be warned that a Numel may enjoy falling asleep on you or most any other warm bodies.
Princess, is a bastard of a Numel and the worst a Numel can be if not being used for battle. I knew for certain that she could use both ground and fire type moves right off the bat. She bites, bucks, and has attempted to attack and bite numerous other grunts and weakened Pokémon. Numel bites hurt, flat teeth and a bite force of 3280 psi that breaks skin and bones. She’s a bit smarter than the average Numel so she was luckily quick to train and such, only took four years. For most other species of Pokémon such as Basalt my Zubat took months.
However Numel require lots of specialized care. Numel are also prone to “eruptions” it’s significantly more minor than in Camerupt but still gets lava everywhere, Merpkins gets one every four or five years, Princess gets like one or two a year, it’s kinda like a mix of temper tantrum and just something they just do. The average is one every two or three years but as shown with my Numel it varies wildly. Than you need to know your subspecies, it never matters in most situations (i.e. contests, battles and day to day care) but Numel have three different subspecies, Northern, Southern and the Lavaridge; all nearly identical.
The Southern has the hottest lava and stronger fire attacks, they’re the most aggressive and have slightly splotchier patterns. Princess is a Southern Numel. The Northern Numel have stronger ground types attacks, are generally lazier and nap a lot, Merpkins is a Northern Numel. He requires being sheered once a year in the spring months. The Lavaridge Numel is an excellent middle ground with average ground and fire type move strength and are just active yet calm enough for a trainer with little to moderate experience. The best way to tell a Lavaridge and Northern Numel apart is the coat, Northern Numel have thicker coats which require sheering. Bathing Numel is also a nightmare, they require a non dust bath every four months and cannot use water due to their four times weakness, thankfully there are fire type safe water alternatives to them.
They can be tough to own but are adorable.
Have you done Numel yet? Love me a Numel

Tragically, a numel would not make a very good pet for anyone, unless they are specially equipped to care for destructive fire or ground/type pokémon.
By all appearances, numels are great companions. While a little on the heavier side they’re certainly not too big to be a house pet. They have a great temperament too: they’re not particularly violent, and have a long-standing track record of living alongside humans due to their historical role as working partners (Emerald). They are known to be… well… not the brightest. The pokédex describes numels as “extremely dull witted” to the point of not even registering when they’re being attacked (Ruby). While this does mean that a numel won’t be the most clever of pets, it also means that they are less likely to act defensively if they feel threatened or scared, since they don’t really react to threats.
The problem with numels comes in their destructive capabilities. Looking at their move pool, we see a lot of moves that carry heavy point penalties in the algorithm, be it fire-type moves that could easily starts a fire like Incinerate or ground-type moves that could level a home like Earthquake. This is a pokémon with a natural supply of liquid magma as hot as 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit stored in their hump that they can use to become a living flamethrower on a whim (Sapphire, HeartGold/SoulSilver). Numels are strong too, being said to be able to lift as much as 220 pounds on their back, a load over four times heavier than themself (Emerald). Like I said earlier, the chances that a numel becomes aggressive are slim to none. However, the species’ dull-witted nature could potentially make them more difficult to train in order to prevent these abilities from being used. Accidents happen, and in the case of numels those accidents could be catastrophic.
Numels are adorable and the perfect size, but their inherent destructive capabilities tank their score to earn them an F rank. I could only recommend a numel to someone who is very experienced with handling pokémon with these capabilities in a safe and responsible manner, which is something the average pet owner is not going to be able to manage.

To Archie the Aqua boss,
live with the idea that there are magma grunts who can out swim your Aqua grunts. Why do I say this? I was guarding some other grunts as we gathered some rock samples. And I saw an Aqua grunt drowning. Guess who saved the Aqua grunt by pulling them out of the ocean just fine. A Magma grunt out swam and swam better than an Aqua grunt. Take that Team Aqua.

New discovery by my barracks! Numel with a diet high in iron are magnetic! Now how do you get a Numel unstuck on a fridge? We managed to move the Numel out of Princess’s biting range but their trainer is having to hold the Numel’s hooves so their Pokémon doesn’t freak out(Ground types typically don’t like leaving the ground), and it’s been two hours.
Maggie is definitely going to be laying off the iron treats much to her Numel’s dismay after this. She’s loudly complaining about how her arms hurt and someone went to get Courtney. Hopefully we don’t loose our fridge getting the Numel unstuck.

Just saw a pack of Poochyena and a Mightyena. The Mightyena looked very freshly evolved so I don’t think they’ve realized it yet. They got bossed around by a Poochyena too.

You... literally said you joined Aqua???
I was looking back over my post history to try and figure out where the distortion I said anything that could be interpreted that way. It was a wrong word as the question was about team Aqua and if I would have joined at any point! So that mystery is solved and fixed! Honestly I tend to just type stuff half automatically towards the end for longer responses.

No I didn’t, I have never found any reason to. I only know Archie as he always drove Conna to the Swim team meets and occasionally brought Penne alla vodka and ice cream to the post meet party at the end of the season.

Either that PhD was from a diploma mill, or he's making stuff up with the sink in 150 years thing.
Oh no the sink in 150 years for Hoenn thing isn’t from him, literally learned about it in school. It’s a very well established thing and it’s not due to plate tectonics, Hoenn was formed by glacial activity. It’s been known about for or so eighty years and millions are spent on keeping the admittedly little land we do have so we can beat the 150 number.
Technically Hoenn is a Glacial Moraine, we’re further north than most people think. So Hoenn is basically a glorified sandbar with big rocks made from a glacier melting and in a sense dissolving back into the ocean. We just so happen to have a hot spot which is very much inactive, hence Lavaridge town have a three hundred year history. The constant barrage of hurricanes, monsoons and the like is just worsening the weathering of what we have.

Red is the Terminal Moraine, yellow is the Terminal

Does your Maxie have any background in science?
Yeah, he has a PhD in tectonics, a masters in Volcanolgy and an associates in Geology. Before starting Team Magma the Boss worked as the head field researcher in the National Hoenn geological institute. The man is very well established in his field.

And how do you guys think you’re going to get Groudon?
The higher ups know all the details but here’s what I know about the plan.
1. Research as much as we can about the Groudon and Kyogre myths along with more minor Earthen alined legendaries. The bosses Obsidite roots should help.
2. Obtain some of these minor legendary Pokémon, (We have a Regirock that has been named Geo-vanni and has a bow tie sharpied on.)
3. Obtain red orb.
4. Study study study the red orb till there’s nothing left the science division can figure out.
5. Obtain a Masterball or potential equivalent.
6. Wait for the optimal moment for to awaken Groudon, we’re planning on when they’d be at their absolute weakest and easiest to control.
7. Catch Groudon.
8. Use Groudon to stabilize the region.
9. Put Groudon back to sleep. Preferably in a more hidden location to keep Groudon safer.

So why didn’t you join Aqua?
Honestly their goal is a little dumb, I mean flooding an already sinking region? Hoenn won’t be much more than Pacifilog town eventually. Besides I haven’t really swam since I got bitten by a Sharpedo. Nearly getting disemboweled in a random Pokémon attack can really turn you off the sport when I wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary. They never tell you about the infection afterwards either, that’s what nearly killed me several more times. By all accounts I should be dead, the water made it significantly worse.
I haven’t looked at a Sharpedo the same since. Haven’t been able to swim even after three years, besides I’d of gone into Team Aqua alone. I may not speak with Dean the bitch anymore but he’s a major reason I joined team Magma to begin with.

Just got back from the Pokécenter! Princess threw up the Rheine stones in the car and Merpkins is currently halfway under anesthesia. His stomach got pumped and I’m considering reporting Josie for endangering Pokémon.
I mean both my Numel got sick, she’s sticking Rheine stones on her Pokémon which I don’t think is good for them. I don’t want any of my groups Pokémon to get sick. Already told the others.

Aqua spy?
Yeah. It’s annoying but my background is the reason why and a few connections. One of which being the Aqua leader himself Archie.
Used to be a competitive swimmer, like a really good one. Competed at a national level so couldn’t really hide it. Doesn’t help that one of my closest friends and teammates was Archie’s younger cousin, Canna. He typically drove her to the meets and he brought snacks. Everyone on the swim team loved Canna and everyone liked Archie, the man I admit knows how to make a mean penne alla vodka.
But those connections mean that pretty much everyone thinks that I’m an Aqua spy. I fully get it, former competitive swimmer from Lilycove with connections to the Aqua boss? Even I’d say spy. Distortion if it weren’t for the accident I’d of probably joined Team Aqua instead. Sometimes I wonder what my Pokémon team would look like if I did. I wouldn’t have Princess, Basalt or Bloodstone.
