Since my art is dogwater but I love this fic so much, I did the only thing I could and made a playlist for it! I tried adding songs that made sense but if anyone else has any suggestions then feel free to share them, I’ll also be adding the link so y’all can listen to it :)

Love the idea of Gumshoe having to stand in as Edgeworth in court. (And Edgeworth having to be there to make sure he doesn't mess up.

(but also the fact that Edgeworth trusts him enough to let him stand in in the first place)

What if Phoenix hadn't survived after he ate the poison necklace?

Well, everything would change. He wouldn't get the chance to become a lawyer and find his childhood friend, he wouldn't have met everyone in the game either. Everyone's lives would change, without him. And we would have the credit running, tho.

I find this so confusing, for him, for the entire game.

Hershel Haturday… therefore fh!Hershel character sheet time!

From the start, Hershel is in deep denial about the reality of the Dungeon. There must be some sort of trick, some reasonable explanation for the horrors they’re witnessing. It isn’t until they encounter the Blood Pit, and later Descole, that it starts to set in that something supernatural is happening here. There’s an oppressive fog preventing them from leaving the Dungeon, so they can only go deeper. The notion that they’ve traveled back in time still irks him, however. Time travel has always been a sore spot.

Hershel makes most of the decisions for the party: choosing where to go, determining what fights are worth the trouble, and solving the puzzles that block the way forward. He’s able to extract Blue Sin from the rubble in the Mines without collapsing the cave and getting everyone killed, and is later responsible for figuring out Valteil’s laboratory once they get to the Ancient City.

Despite a harrowing first encounter with Nosramus (Emmy nearly skewered them), Hershel manages to smooth things over with the alchemist, and forms a friendly relationship with him. Nosramus is a font of knowledge, about magic, about the Dungeon, and even about the Ancient City buried beneath. The alchemist takes notice of the growing hungry glint in Hershel’s eye, and gifts him the Soul Anchor. If Hershel is to continue delving deeper, he may need it.

The Darkness’s effect on Hershel is the subtlest at first, but ends up being the most insidious. As they get further along, Hershel starts to grow more and more obsessed with figuring out how the Dungeon works. He wants to know what happened here, and why. He needs to know. He needs to know everything. This increasing obsession drives him to keep going, and by extension dragging the others along with him. Even when they finally find Clark, he decides they can’t leave yet. They’re not done.

Clark has a similar thirst for knowledge, and in spite of the haggard state he’s found in, wants to venture with the group into the Tomb of the Gods instead of escaping. He and Hershel feed off of each other’s fixation on the Dungeon, which drives the both of them further pursue whatever it it they’re looking for. By the time they’ve reached the Ancient City, Hershel is dead set on seeing this through, no matter the cost…

Cavalcade of Corpse chapter five spoilers!

Tada didn't use whiteboard fox this time, I really wanted to draw a scene from this fic but I wanted to try something less serious out because I don't usually use fire alpaca to draw, now that I'm more confident in it I wanna draw another scene in this fic Please read Cavalcade Of Corpses by @zillasafe if you're interested in any of this, it's really cool!!

(Also I realized way WAY too late that in my first fanart for the fic I somehow managed to forget where Layton's bite mark was despite having just reread the first chapter more than once I thought it was on his arm instead of his palm?? was so have a random moment from the fic to make up for it LOL)

Phoenix character design references (DD/SOJ)

Since I am making that beast of a comic and have been drawing this wonderful walking disaster in all poses possibly imaginable on this earth, I have noticed some things about his character design- so here you go, for whoever needs these references!

NOTE: waistcoat & breast pocket As you can see, it seems his waistcoat doesn't have a breast pocket (I thought it did). Only his jacket does. Also, we don't really see where his chain ends up once it goes into the first button hole of the jacket, but I would think it's just pinned behind the button hole. And, uh, not that it really matters, but that means he can't close his jacket. Overall, the waistcoat is drawn a bit inconsistently. In DD and in the SOJ artwork the pockets are a bit different and the seam that is above and under them is placed a bit differently. I think it's just a matter of different artists drawing him and applying their own aesthetic preferences. I myself take some artistic liberties so...

NOTE: pants seams His pants have 4 seams: 2 on the sides, 1 on the back, 1 on the front.

NOTE: locket This is ultimately incosequential for art purposes but I just want to point out the fact that since it's on his left, it means that he keeps the locket with Trucy's picture next to his heart <3 he doesn't care about fashion, he didn't put it there for that reason! The chain hanging down seems to me like him showing off his most treasured person...

NOTE: shirt's cuffs They're different from Edgeworth's! Look:

I'll also make one for Edgeworth sometime soon. They both have the misfortune of almost never taking off their jackets and we don't really have good concept art for them.

An AU where Feenie in fact could not stomach glass, and he choked on his own blood and died in a bathroom somewhere when he ran out of the courtroom and hid somewhere to eat the necklace. Only Mia can see his spirit and he hangs around her as a friendly ghost.

Edit: Just realised ‘Such Small Hands’ by La dispute would go well with this. The voice kinda matches how I would imagine Feenie sounds anyway
