i really really love the way you draw higgs and amelie and the way you describe their relationship. I see your vision so hard, it's changed the way I think about them permanently.

i really want to know, though - how are you feeling about the new trailer?

shitting my pants because i was fully expecting IF we were so lucky to get a release date with this new trailer itd either be coming out in late 2025 or even pushed to 2026. cant believe its coming out in JUNE i dont even have a ps5 yet!!! [more under the cut]

IM SO EXCITED!!!!!!! im so excited. so for background i'd been excited for death stranding ever since it was first annouced in 2016, but I was busy with life and school when it came out and didn't get the chance to actually play it until last year. that WHOLE TIME I was so committed to going into it unspoiled, i had it blacklisted for years and everything, all so that I could play DS1 blind and embrace whatever the hell it was on its own terms. i am so glad i did that this game had a huge impact on me and I love it so much.

So that's all to say that I have my own thoughts and feelings and inklings of suspicions on what's going on or what could happen in DS2 but i'm not like, specifically seeking out theories online or anything yet because I just want to see what happens in the game :-) kojima said he had hints and mysteries hidden in the trailers and im sure people will be speculating on that/might even figure some stuff out, which I dont mind seeing but I'm not going to Actively seek it out if that makes sense.

I will take this chance to freely speculate about higgs though because these thoughts have been rolling around in my head ever since I saw the first DS2 teaser:

my very first impression of ds2 higgs was LOL DID HE FUCKING STEAL AMELIES HAIRCUT?? and yeah he did hes literally running around with her face and her hair. me when i totally dont have gender envy towards the girl im crazy about.

who knows what he could mean by all of this but I've wondered for a while if its because hes like, Impersonating her or some shit.

Either because he is in fact, a little mad that the girl who offered him a starring role in The Only Thing Left On This Shit Earth That Actually Matters wound up getting cold feet about it, and he's impersonating her in some sort of 'oh you WONT be our angel of death?? fine ill do it myself im the EE now' sort of situation (false prophet promising a doomsday he can never deliver on), OR, he's impersonating her in a sort of 'we are all heretics and have forsaken/let down our beautiful extinction entity amelie but DONT WORRY I will keep her message and spirit alive :-)' and if either of those routes happen to involve turning her piece of shit baby brother into a red paste whose he to say no.

to summarize i think whatever happens, i'm optimistic because higgs appears to be Only Getting Weirder About Amelie. hooray for true love!!
