bruh what traditions are even worth saving? I always wondered why they don't just omit the national anthem from sports ceremonies. like nobody sings it well and it has a bunch of controversy. it'd be nicer for everyone if the sports leagues just donated some money to the VA and called it a day.

I used to get into clothes way more but I do love bootcut more but brands are hard. You can tell the type of body they mold their jeans and clothes to. I used to really like this one brand but now the jeans don't have any hip room, super petite, and give me major camel toe now. You can tell the mannequin is square shaped. I can't, like is there any solution to this? No brand or style clothing has fixed these issues for me but yes, if you can find a style that works it's better than brand. But also if you find a brand with a good mannequin or reference body don't let them go lol.
i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping

As someone that struggles with mentally illness, that's kinda why I love horror as a genre though. I like the jump scares and how it plays on my lived experiences. Given those aren't usually my favorite horror movies, I really loved Midsommer and Get Out most just because they were intentional, but I do enjoy a movie set in a psych ward. Just because the movies aren't very nuanced or written from an anti-ableism perspective doesn't make them useless. I do think there is something about the horror genre that comforts those of us who have been traumatized by the medical industry. They don't have to be award winning to comfort those of us that have been disturbed.
The worst thing is that there is so much potential for exploring the horror of psych wards from the angle of medical abuse, ableism, forced treatment/drugging, loss of autonomy, power imbalance, demonization, dehumanization, etc, and YET the horror genre keeps defaulting to "insane asylums and psych wards are scary because there are mentally ill people in there"

Yeah I am aware my music taste is very southern but like I didn't grow up on Big Sean and Eminem very much gives ex. My only origin with Big Sean is through Kanye. Does it matter where the rapper is from if the lyrics are real. I always thought Lil Tunechi was international. Macklemore annoying. Drake annoying. Listening to them is like listening to the children of Lil Wayne.
Foundational 2010's artists: Lil Wayne, Usher, Lil Jon, Ludacris, Kanye. All these artists are like the same grade. Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Biggie, Dre, Jay-Z... all these are like the grandfathers. Everyone after 2010's just too young for me, like they are for the youth. I realize Drake, Big Sean, Macklemore, Kendrick are all older than me but their songs are for young people. I don't care what anybody says, if a man says his favorite artist is Drake, I know that he is too young for me. If his favorite album is DAMN., he is too young for you bruh. Any Big Sean album? You are the youth. I am not a snob but like out of the entire genre you choose these recent albums? Out of all time you're choosing this one? What about your five pillars? Who are your foundations? This is why I can't stand NFL and ESPN playlists, ESPECIALLY the Apple playlists for NFL players. These songs are so fucking recent and don't reveal character at all. Like you're going to add Not Like Us? WHO IS YOUR FOUNDATIONAL PILLAR? REVEAL YOURSELF LMFAO

This is what gets me about these posts and simultaneously pisses me off. While you all have been confronted with the reality of a conservative majority, most of us have been living this way since the beginning of our lives. This is not new, but because of your privilege you get to now be confronted with reality. Welcome to our life. Queen Latines have been feeling this for our entire lives. You don't get to tell me about sad or depressed or suicidal ideation because you told me to shut the fuck up and see where we are? Turns out you all aren't so special as you thought, huh?

My biggest advice to doomscrollers on Tumblr is to connect with a community center or organization. There are group therapies and circles going on for the exact things you are scrolling about LMAO

He is not going to change the constitution. What we really need to worry about is the Supreme Court. Most of our human rights in this country are tied to Supreme Court decisions, which he already successfully overturned Roe with his Justice appointments. You don't vote for the president, you vote for the party with the best Supreme Court decisions and opinion pieces.
If it makes any of you feel better, Donald Trump will have an uphill battle to change the constitution. He will need:
-2/3 of Senators (60)
-2/3 of the House of Representatives (290)
-3/4 of the states (38)
In 2026, 33 senate seats will be up for grabs, and we’ll be able to vote for people who are against Trump and his ideals.
Breathe and remain hopeful because it’s not over. We can still fight and make Trump’s last four years hell.

There are so many responses you can have to this. My recommendation is read the Autobiography of Malcolm X for starters. Then read Marx LMFAO

Why does everyone hate Avicii now? Because of Mike Posner? Whatever Avicii did in Ibiza is not my business, he brought joy to the radio and did some fire collabs. I will not be silenced about my love for Flo Rida. Let's not talk about how Lansing was repping Flo Rida for years. What happened? Is it because of Avicii? Mike Posner? I always wonder about these radio DJ's coalitions LMFAO

I was hoping that we moved on more from 2016. All considering, I don't think Kamala Harris was worse than Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton had Black Lives Matter chapters against her. But this has always been women's issue with becoming President in my opinion. They have to hold some sort of prosecution or government position before office that just screws up the perception with their own voters. Yes it is racism and misogyny, but they are also facing backlash from their own constituents. Obama didn't have to hold a similar office (which I do think energized his voters at the polls, because he was separated from prosecution and government roles), but due to misogyny and racism - women have to hold those positions to be treated and respected similarly in the field even with their own people. I actually think about this all the time.
i got too optimistic and forgot kamala harris was dealing with the combined powers of racism and misogyny
