We love you Hades!!!
Hades wasn't worshipped all that much in ancient Greece because his association with death made everyone kinda scared of him. So, just imagine you're Hades, vibing in the underworld with your wife and all the sudden these gen z neopagans kick down your door with all the love and affection they can muster and you're just like "what the fuck?"

Thank you, Hades, for this lesson.
I know death is part of life, I know this will be painful, but this is still a lesson.
But I still know that you will take care of him, of those who pass away.
Thank you.
Thank you, Persephone, for this lesson.
You taught me (and still teach me) that this pain is temporary, that soon the flowers will bloom again.

Katadesmoi
Greek Curse Tablet
So I've been debating on whether or not to share my research into Greek Curse Tablets (katadesmoi) due to the risks involved but then I realized this is an Open Journal and I've made a Katadesmos therefore I should share it along with all the risks. Knowledge is power. Stay tuned and I'll post it soon.

Here slithers a serpent of fortune,
Serendipitous and full of wealth.
He holds in his heart a love for his oikos,
And the family which dwells within.
I call to you, my household snake,
To worship and adore you;
For your presents to us are gifts from the gods,
And the power of Zeus who sends you.
Your scales are articulated across the carpet,
The wood, and linoleum of our homes.
There isn’t an inch that you don’t bless
When offered and pleased as you should be.
Your glory slinks across the walls,
And burgeons in the vents.
We hear your hiss and know we’re safe;
We smell your honeyed breath and praise your name.
Thank you great Daimon,
Thank you Good Spirit.
Thank you for protection
Abundance and memories with friends and family.
I sing of your wonderful tidings,
And how your presence means you feel welcome.
Let us honour you, let us glorify you.
And teach us your wise ways of success.
Praise be to our Agathos Daimon,
The serpent who resides in our home!

Things I've learned from this book...
Tumblr media
Greek shamans/sorcerers, or Goêtes, are characterized by the ability to manipulate their own spirits, detaching them from their bodies, as well as manipulating the spirits of the dead.
Epimenides was said to have been the first to have purified houses and fields... in essence he was the first Guardian.
To lay a spirit to rest permanently you must first raise it up fully in order to lay it to rest for its last and final time. The person who practices this is an Evocator, a psuchagôgoi, literally "soul-drawers".
The dedication of double effigies is a known technique of ghost-laying.
Purifications - katharmón
Charms - epagôgai
Binding Spells - katadesmoi
Incantations - epôidai
Diviner - mantis
Interpreter - teratoskopos
Prophecy/Divination - mantikê

A coin for Charon the ferryman ready to go if someone dies in the car!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dear Open Journal,
Made another amulet but this time for @saltandburnsage 's car! Remember an amulet drives things away. A talisman brings in a god(ess)s energy.
Physical Components:
Black Tourmaline to "filter" energy
Spider symbol to house the protective spider she has been working with (any symbol of a protective entity you work with or protection thoughtform you've crafted)
Black leather feather for aesthetics
Gold coin for Charon the Ferryman should she pass away while on the road.
The whole amulet as a whole will be cleansed and then charged with the purpose of protection for herself and for her car while she's driving. It will be a lengthy process to create that will involve sigils and a ritual but at the end she will have a crazy awesome amulet!
