A simple method to contact Ophiel with pen and paper.
Tumblr media
illustration courtesy of my hubby, @desdemonasarchives. One of my friends wanted to work with Arbatel's spirits without calling on God or Jesus which is somewhat ironic considering it is a...Christian grimoire but nonetheless who am I to hide the light under the bushel(Matthew 5:15) right? I will have to put emphasis that this is only and specifically for Ophiel. His Spirits are 100000 Legions: he easily giveth Familiar Spirits: he teacheth all Arts: and he that is dignified with his Character, he maketh him to be able in a moment to convert Quicksilver into the Philosophers stone.
Tumblr media
I will first say the words as told to me by Ophiel.
sincerity of heart, Pureness of mind, Calmness of body, Write me a letter as much as you can and I will draw near to you and get closer to you. Shred to pieces in the wind, burn it, bury it, in running water, any of these works and the more you write letters to me the more I will draw near to you, inspire you, and talk to you.
note: running water as in a stream or a river if possible. That's basically it. Write them a letter, you can start it with "Dear Ophiel[his seal]...." followed by a sincere request from you to contact them, and just keep approaching them respectfully and cordially :)
Surprisingly simple method to do it :) hope it works well for you.

Ancient Greek & Roman Knot Magic - Part. 4
Tumblr media
Some quotes from “Magic, Witchcraft, and Ghosts in the Greek and Roman Worlds : a sourcebook” by Daniel Ogden
Decided to break down this post into multiple ones because the quotes are too damn long. See the end of the post for links to the other ones.
The point of this is just to do some research on folklore and look for inspiration.
An old woman activates a twisted-thread anti-impotence amulet
"I strolled about a bit and had sat down in the same place as the day before, but CHrysis soon came along, dragging a little old woman after her. After saying hello she asked, "Well, my proud man, have you begun to feel better?" The old woman produced a cord from the folds of her dress, twisted together from threads of different color, and she tied it around my neck. Then she mixed some dust with spit, took it up on her middle finger, and drew a sign on my forehead, despite my objections . . . . When she had completed the spell she bade me spit three times over and drop some pebbles down my robe three times over. She had kept these stones, which she had charmed, wrapped in purple. She applied her hands and began to test the vigor of my loins. Sooner than you could say it, the muscles jumped on command, and the old woman's hand were filled with great upheavel. She was overjoyed and said, "Do you see, my Chrysis, what a hare this thing is that I have started for others to chase?" Petronius, Satyricon, 66 AD, greek
Hera and Aphrodite's embroidered band
"Lady Hera adressed Aphrodite with cunning in her mind: "Now give me love and desire, with which you subdue all the immortals and mortal men too. For I am goinng to go to see the boundaries of the bountiful earth and Oceanus, the sire of the gods, and mother Tethys, who reared and nurtured men in their house, after they had taken me over from Rheia, when far-shooting Zeus forced Cronus beneath the land and the unputes. Forn they have been avoiding sex and love with each other for a long time now, since anger fell upon their hearts. If I could talk the couple's dear hearts round, and bring them to go to bed and unite with each other in love, they would evermore call me dear and revere me."
Laughter loving Aphrodite replied to her: "It is neither possible nor seemly to deny your request, for you sleep in the arms of the greatest God, Zeus."
So she spoke, and she took her variegated embroidered band [kestos himas] from her breast, in which she had wrought all charms. In it there was love, in it there was desire, in it there was sweet intimacy, which steals the wits of even the sensible. She put it in Hera's hands and spoke to her, addressing her by name: "Take this variegated band now, in which all things have been wrought, and tie it accross your bossom. I can tell you that you will not come back without effecting the thing you desire in you heart."
Homer, Iliad

"Aphrodite loves terfs" do you really think a goddess of love formed from a literal penis and the mother of Hermaphroditus, an intersex god who was associated with androgyny and feminine men, fucks around with transphobia?
she is a literal trans icon and to deny that will get you smited by all the gods

Apollo’s at his best when his speech patterns are “21yo college frat boy meets ye olde theatrical actor”. He responds with things like “But hark! Behold!” and “you should’ve been there, man. It totally rocked” in the same breath and kicks the fight or flight reflexes of every demigod in a mile radius into survival mode

Home Sweetening/Stability Spell
I Got permission from Hagith to share this spell, and I thought people might appreciate trying this spell. You need the following items:
250-500 grams of dried flowers
12 tealight candles
Hagith seal drawn on a paper Afterward you would lay the paper with hagith seal in the middle, cross it with the dried flowers making 3 lines horizontally and 3 lines horizontally. Put a tealight in the candle at the start and end of each line. You would light the tealight candles and let them stay lit in the house you want to sweeten/cause stability between family members in it. The energy would radiate in the house and cause "transformation" You can be specific with lighting the candle and light top -> right -> down -> left , but there wasn't any instruction I got about that. When you line up the dried flowers, you can set it up one piece by one piece so you don't waste a lot! You can find the dried flowers from herbalist and spice shops, they sell them in huge bags or containers often like these:

More love magic:
"This wryneck [inux] of Nico, which knows how to draw a man from accross the sea and girls from their browers, decorated with gold, inset with transluscent amethyst, is dedicated as a dear gift to you, Cyprian, tied through its middle with a gentle thread of purple wool, a gift of guest-friendship from Larissean witch [pharmakis]."
Hellenistic epigrams
Dedication to Aphrodite. "This poem identifies the inux with a (birdless) spinning wheel."
"They pull out love potions from everywhere. That famous antipathes is sought, as are little wheels, wrynecks [iunges], ribbons, root tendrils, herbs, shoots, enticing double tailed lizards, the sweet charms of whinnying creatures." Laevius Morel Apuleius, Apology
