dwagons… we got these secondhand off of eBay because frankly i think jellycat’s pricing now is insane. they are very soft and floppy, albeit lighter and a little jankier than i expected them to be - the limbs in particular seem less well constructed than in the preview images on the website. but whatcha gonna do.

i don’t have names for them yet, though i can kind of feel some half-forming in my head. i guess we’ll wait and see.

I am not a fan of grouping people by agab language, but the shift from "afab trans people" and "amab trans people" to "transmascs" and "transfems" has honestly made everything so much worse.

I just recently read a post that said pregnancy is an issue that affects "transmascs and intersex transfems" and I'm still so angry about it.

If you want to say "trans people who grew up with the social role of girlhood and who may have reproductive organs allowing pregnancy", DO NOT say "transmascs". That is not the word.

thinking about. disability. and how many of our friends we have watched go from able bodied to disabled, often due to injury rather than genetics, and how drastically it has affected their lives. and how difficult it is to exist in the working world as a disabled person. and how unfair it is that so many people endure this while able-bodied people, who are only one whoopsie away from joining them, make that worse (see: Covid).

although realistically i do not think your average person, no matter how privileged, has much systemic power at all. i really believe it is ultimately a class issue because while everyone is one whoopsie away from permanent disability, as a rich person you have access to better healthcare (including physiotherapy!) than most people can dream of lol. so if you’re rich it’s like, yeah maybe i’ll get injured and become disabled but my life is still going to look very different from someone without the safety net of massive wealth to fall back upon. i am much more likely to recover more efficiently and even if i do not recover i will have the wealth and resources to lead a far richer (badum tss) life than the non-rich disabled.

it’s frustrating to think about.
