Broke: vampires are real, and they act just like in the stories
Woke: vampires are real, but the stories are inaccurate
Bespoke: vampires are real, the stories are inaccurate, and vampires made up those stories to keep humans ignorant
Baroque: vampires are real, and the stories are inaccurate, but vampires reacted to things like Dracula and Masquerade the same way the mafia reacted to The Godfather and now actively try to play out the tropes
#okay but this is LITERALLY true#some people in sanguinarian communities actively reject pop culture depictions#but there's only a trend of rejection because “lifestylers” (I hate that term) lean into it#personally as a vampire and sang I was raised with pop culture depictions and theyre important to me#my mum was obsessed with alucard and slept in a coffin

ecological problems of colonialism also have more to do with the exploitative nature of colonialism than with foreigners lacking an elf-like connection to the land imo

No I don't think it's romantic that you painted me at all. You were obviously trying to trap and flatten my soul

8. Is there anyone you've met as a result of your interactions in the community who's very important to you now?
YOU
In seriousness, though, while most of my current friendships were established outside of alterhuman spaces, fictionkinity is by and large one of the most common connecting points between myself and other people. I'd really like to see if there are alterhuman meetups of any kind locally, to maybe give myself some hope in lieu of there being no local Esperantist meetups.
Additionally, even though I'm not super active in alterhuman spaces, I do feel a closer sense of connection between myself and other alterhumans, especially names who I recognize and see across multiple mediums (different servers in discord, tumblr, alterhuman archive posts, etc.). There's for sure a sense of belonging there that I don't have with many other communities.
41. Free space! Share anything about your identity/ies that you'd like to!
I'm too autistic for such an open ended question and spent way, way too long thinking about this (the better part of a day). I guess my funfact is that the specific defunct starman 'type that I have, Larice, due to being faulty and therefore sentient, has a Magicant (which is a world consisting of the thoughts, feelings, hopes, fears, dreams, and memories of the being in question, generally entered through a door under extraordinary circumstances, and forcing you to face your fears and insecurities).
Larice's Magicant involves him confronting his higher up, Giegue, who says: "Do you think you're above the others...? You're just a useless glitch. Another unstable creation that will be analyzed and improved upon to make sure nothing like you ever happens again."
Upon defeating him, Larice comes to his influence inhibitor, who says: "I am your ambition and loyalty to the Starmen. You cannot beat me. Because I am programmed into you." And then you beat it up and leave the Magicant.
Which ties into my recent musings on tool-ness in relationship to my alterhumanity pretty nicely. Larice, too, was made and produced from a colonized race of aliens, forcefully integrated into a robotic frame and made to serve as a soldier of Giegue's force. His story is one of transcending what he was made for; finding things worth fighting for outside of his given purpose; knowing that he is not simply "defective".
sometimes though I start to feel like they want me back in their alien hivemind of doom. but no one needs to know that
