Do you think they will do the Hamilton stage door in January of next year? If so do you think the front mezz will be able to get a spot for an autograph. Thanks.
Honestly, I have no idea how stage door will look since theatres haven't properly even opened yet. My guess is that by then it will be relatively similar to regular stage door pre-covid.
If you're front mezz (my fav seats btw), you will likely be the last to leave the theatre, but there is always room further down the barriers if you don't try to bunch up at the front. Actors always do their best to get everyone on the barrier no matter how far down, so you should be fine :)

Holy guacamole, it has been a minute friends. With the release of Hamilfilm, there has been a sharp increase in people finding this little blog, so to all of the newcomers, welcome! I hope you find what you’re looking for. I’m a now 23-year-old girl who has seen Hamilton 31 times (live because that’s a distinction I now have to make) including 5 different casts in 4 different cities. To say Hamilton has been a big part of my life is a major understatement. For 2 years I would visit the Richard Rodgers Theatre nearly everyday and through this have met over a hundred different cast and crew members and made a handful of cherished friends. I’ve also had the honor of taking my entire family and some of my hometown friends to see it for the first time and I even took some of my grad photos at the theater :)
But, alas, all good things must come to an end. From a 19-year-old just trying to make sense of this big city to a 23-year-old attempting to adult post-grad, I’ve had to put this little show aside and focus on other things (like student loan payments 😩). But along with that, I sort of left this passion project in the dust and never properly said goodbye to it.
I want to thank each and every person who has visited, liked, commented, shared, messaged and emailed. All of you are what drove me to keep going for as long as I did to provide the information I sought when I was first starting out. This was a big part of my Hamilton journey and I’m glad to be of service to the fandom in any way.
Your Obedient Servant, Leah
P.S.: All that said, this global pandemic has freed up a lot of time in my life, so a long overdue update to this this blog might turn into a quarantine project. Anything’s possible.

My kids are seeing Hamilton for the first time 2/3/19 in Orlando. Will anyone stage door?
Hi there! Generally, all Hamilton casts are pretty good about stage dooring regardless of where they are. For the Philip Tour specifically, someone did tell me that when they went in Charlotte, 12 people stage doored. I do not know if that is typical of the Philip Tour or they just happened to go on a really good day (probably the latter). However, I do know Nik Walker (Burr) will most likely stage door if he is not on vacation at the time. Enjoy the show, and please do report back as to how it went!

Aloha, and thank you for this site. I wondered, on the Philip tour schedule of cities, whether San Antonio and Austin dates are mistaken, and should be in May rather than March. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to make sense. Anyway, good work, and thanks again.
You are absolutely right! Thanks for pointing out my mistake; it has been fixed :)

Who is Philip in hamilton
??? Very easily googleable but ok. These actors play the dual role of John Laurens/Philip Hamilton in their respective productions:
New York: Anthony Lee Medina
Chicago: Jamaal Fields-Green
London: Cleve September
Angelica Tour: Jon Viktor Corpuz
Philip Tour: Elijah Malcomb
And Peggy Tour: Rubén J. Carbajal
If you’re literally asking who he is like as a person, he’s Hamilton’s son who dies in a duel defending Hamilton’s honor.

I’m going to see Hamilton this weekend!! So excited! Do the Broadway actors still stage door when it is absolutely freezing and snow? I hope so! Also right when the show ends should I leave before bows to go wait at the stage door or do I have some time before they come out? Thanks!
It sort of depends on how cold/snowy it is. There were a handful of times last winter when no one stage doored due to really bad weather (blizzards) or security literally didn’t even set up the barricades because of falling ice. Usually, though, at least one or two people stage door if it’s not too, too bad. Use your best judgement and stay warm!!
As for when you should leave the theatre, I strongly discourage anyone from leaving before curtain call or during bows. Not only is it annoying to those around you, but it is also incredibly disrespectful to the actors who just put their heart and soul into the show you watched - all to meet the very people you are disrespecting. You should have plenty of time once the house lights are up to get out of the theatre and get a decent spot at stage door. Best of luck!

Who are your favorite actors for each role? (In other words. What would be your ultimate cast?)
Some context for anyone who doesn’t know: I have seen Hamilton 29 times in 4 different cities: New York, San Francisco (Angelica Tour), Chicago, and London. I have never seen the same cast twice, even if it’s just a change of ensemble. (I have literally gone to see a show just to see certain swings on in certain tracks.) But, I have not seen literally every iteration possible and have definitely slowed down in my Hamilton-going habits in the last year. I also did not see the full OBC (only Anthony, Chris, Oak, and Jasmine, so this does not 100% take them into account, which imo makes it a bit more interesting).
Disclaimer: Each and every person who is in Hamilton has been cast for a reason. They are all incredibly talented, and I don’t want this to be seen as objective rule or me bashing other actors. It is not. This is all very subjective and based on my personal tastes. That being said, I do think it is interesting to see how different people view this show, which is why I am doing this.
Alexander Hamilton: Michael Luwoye (NY/Angelica Tour)
Runner up: Miguel Cervantes (NY/Chicago)
Eliza Hamilton: Julia K. Harriman (Angelica Tour/And Peggy Tour)
Runner up: Syndee Winters (NY)
(I haven’t seen Jennie in this role, but knowing she’s a fucking goddess I’m sure i’d want her to play Eliza too.)
Aaron Burr: Gregory Treco (NY/Chicago)
Runner up: Nik Walker (very close) (NY/Philip Tour)
Angelica Schuyler: Jennie Harney (Universal Standby) (If this was physically possible. Since it’s obviously not and her Peggy/Maria is to die for, I’d go with Mandy Gonzalez (NY))
Runner up: Syndee Winters (NY)
George Washington: Christopher Jackson (NY, OBC)
Runner up: Obioma Ugoala (London)
Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson: Jordan Donica (Angelica Tour)
Runner up: Chris Lee (Chicago/Angelica Tour)
Hercules Mulligan/James Madison: Okieriete Onaodowan (NY, OBC)
Runner up: Tarinn Callender (London)
John Laurens/Philip Hamilton:
If I could have my way:
Anthony Ramos (NY, OBC) as Laurens
Anthony Lee Medina (NY) as Young Philip
Jordan Fisher (NY) as Older Philip
If I had to pick just one: Anthony Ramos (NY)
Runner up: Jordan Fisher (NY)
Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds: Jennie Harney (Universal Standby)
Runner up: Jasmine Cephas Jones (NY, OBC)
King George: Alexander Gemignani (London)
Runner up: Taran Killam (NY)
Obviously, I didn’t include the ensemble tracks, but if you want to see those, I might take the time to write it up.

Hi! Do you have any information about if the And Peggy Tour cast will come out of the stage door in Puerto Rico? I am visiting the island while the show is there but wasn’t able to get tickets. Just wondering if I should try going to the theater to meet some of the cast after a show?
I would be very surprised if some of the cast didn’t come out. Donald (Burr) is usually pretty good about stage dooring and I have seen Julia (Eliza) and Ruben (Laurens/Philip) come out a few times when they were in the Angelica Tour Cast. Since I don’t know much about the rest of the cast, I can’t say who else will/won’t come out. However, I find it highly unlikely that Lin will stage door very frequently since in the past that quickly became a safety hazard. I don’t know if its seclusion to Puerto Rico instead of being in NY will make a difference, but I also don’t want you to get your hopes up on that front. Have fun, and best of luck!

Any insight into stage door at DPAC? I'm seeing Hamilton for the 1st time Friday (11/16) night
Sorry, unfortunately not a whole lot. For DPAC, the stage door is located on Magnam Street just south of Vivian Street. As far as how many people/who stage doors, someone did tell me that when they went in Charlotte, 12 people stage doored. I do not know if that is typical of the Philip Tour or they just happened to go on a really good day. However, I do know Nik Walker (Burr) will most likely stage door. Enjoy the show, and please do report back as to how it went!

On the ball this time! The And Peggy Tour cast was announced yesterday, and here it is. Please note, there are some question marks as to who will be playing which track - some are educated guesses, and others I just don’t know right now - as well as a hand full of actors I cannot find a picture of. These will be updated as soon as possible, but in the meantime, enjoy getting excited about this cast!! I know I am :)

Will the And Peggy cast be classified as a tour? I thought it was just going to be in Puerto Rico in January then a sit-down production in San Francisco
That’s a good question. I personally am classifying it as a tour because that is how it has been advertised in casting calls and reported on Playbill.com, both as the And Peggy Tour as well as the Third National Tour (though less so than And Peggy Tour). Additionally, while Puerto Rico has its own tab on the Hamilton website, I see this as done mostly for logistic reasons since Lin is coming back and it’s such a highly anticipated few weeks of shows. (I for one am very excited.)
San Francisco, on the other hand, is simply listed as a stop on the U.S. Tour tab. SHN Orpheum in SF is currently only selling tickets through September 2019, about the same length as their prior stint in SF. Thus, it feels less like a proper sit-down production like Chicago or London and more so an extended stop. However, much of this is just speculation and I absolutely could be wrong.
I will let you know if I am!
UPDATE!! (1/12/19):
So about a month ago, the incredible Steve Flagg emailed me with a much better answer than what I gave. I will add it here for anyone interested because I sure was!
“To help you expand on your answer, West Coast sit downs are usually classified as tours even thought they don’t truly “tour.” The Les Miserables Second National Tour (Fantine Company) played 1988 - 1989 in Los Angeles before transferring to San Francisco, where it played from 1989 - 1991 and then closed. The Phantom of the Opera First National Tour (Christine Company) played 4 years in Los Angeles before transferring to San Francisco to perform an additional 5 years before closing. Wicked was never publicly given a company name the way the tours were, but it played two years at the Pantages before transferring to San Francisco to play for another 88 weeks and then close.
Hamilton in San Francisco will sit for a while. The current block of San Francisco tickets is selling through September 2019, but I expect at least one more block will open for performances into 2020. The Nederlander Group, which books the Pantages and owns a 50% stake in SHN, has signed a deal that will allow it to bring some tours into the Kodak Theater beginning in mid-2020. The date of the transfer could happen in 2020 depending on how sales hold up, but I expect there is an extension clause should it be a runaway hit in SF; SHN has stated Hamilton will stay as long there is demand. The other potential scenario is the Chicago company (isn’t it named Eliza?) can transfer to LA should demand soften there.
So we’ll see how long Hamilton sits in SF, but you are not incorrect in classifying it as a tour even if it doesn’t truly tour beyond two or three cities. Oh, and if you look at Hamilton’s site now, San Francisco is now listed as its own city in the drop down rather than having to find it on the tour page. [Very true, I think they updated that like a couple weeks after I answered this and I forgot to come back and mention that.]
Thanks for your interesting site,
Steve”
Major thanks to you, Steve!

Hello, I will be seeing Hamilton in San Francisco in may 2019. I tried looking to see which cast (Philip or Angelica) but San Francisco wasn't on the list. Would you happen to know or have an idea of which cast it will be?
That will actually be the third national tour cast named the And Peggy Tour, which will be starting off in Puerto Rico January 2019. The cast itself has not yet been announced, though. (Update 11/13/18 - It now has! You can find the And Peggy Tour cast here.

This was published nearly two months ago, but I’ve only just now been told that this silly little blog was featured in the Charlotte Observer!! Crazy times, man. Major thanks to all of my followers/readers/information seekers because ya’ll are why I started this in the first place. I know I’m not active on here nearly as much as I used to be (life has, unfortunately, caught up with me), but know I am infinitely happy that anyone gets any use out of this now two year old passion project.
