There’s a ledge, past the garden. If you continue down the grass eventually there’s a drop right into the ocean. The green just stops and only the brown dirt from centuries of erosion cover the side of the ledge. It should be too precarious for Kiara to stand there, right at the edge, but she doesn’t care. She’s got an awful feeling that if she were to die, she would have a long time ago. She stands there until it’s night and she can’t see in front of her.

I did a poll on here a little while ago (I’ll have to go back and find when I have time) but there’s a pretty wide range on here. A few in early 20s a couple north of 40. But majority on my page are between 25-35 I think.

Want this so bad 🙏🏻 I feel like they could bring up Rafe also losing his mom to trauma bond with Kie. Using that as what messed him up. Cause Rafe is 4 years older… he prob had a lot more memories than Sarah.

how much do you think (like in your opinion) the writers will incorporate riara in s5? they split up the gang alot so i assume they will do another rafe n kiara duo but i dont think there will be anything beyond that

Not even joking like 100% because what’s the alternative? Rafe teams up with Pope instead and #Rope happens instead? They have him join John B and Sarah and babysit? (I think both of these will happen naturally for Rafe to apologize one-on-one so then they can begin to accept him and appreciate what he brings to the group). Like you said they’re very likely to do another Kie and Rafe duo but I don’t see them using Rafe as just a keychain to dangle around, he’s way too loud and abrasive to be ignored so I’m certain he’s getting under Kiara’s skin one way or another.

Kiara is the only one who can stand him right now so it’s only natural for it to progress and for there to be some more emotional weight associated with their scenes now. We already got him opening up to her in S3 unprompted, now that they know people are open to Riara I think they’d tease some more of that but make it a two way street this time. She needs someone to talk to about JJ’s death and the way she’s going, I don’t think the Pogues are mentally all there to be able to unpack that. Rafe is though :p

Them being paired together is going to inevitably lead to riara, I doubt they’ll be tongueing each other by the third episode but there’s no way to put them together and not have it turn into something deeper. Either way we’ll get them having hard conversations, maybe even challenging each other all the way there. Kiara will be the one to open up now—maybe talking about how much she loved JJ and Rafe trying to understand that (relating it back to Sofia? Ward?), both finding common ground on the grief that’s still so heavy and #traumabonding. And I’m 80% sure a “remember when” about her kook year is coming, the Pates must know at this point that this is insane ammunition they’re just sitting on.

The only way I can see riara not happening is if they make Kiara a Saint after all this and she’s completely devoted to JJ for the rest of her life and can’t move on. Narratively that’s bullshit and having her be a martyr to JJ and stay romantically/sexually/emotionally abstinent after that would be so beyond dumb but I wouldn’t put it past them to appease a certain crowd of people (who won’t even be tuned in for season 5 anyway). This wouldn’t make the story interesting at all or make me happy about Kiara’s character arc/ending. But it could be interesting if they were to play around with being the frame of mind she’s in at the beginning of the season and she slowly comes to understand that JJ, as vibrant with life as he was, would’ve wanted her to move on and be happy. Or, this abstinence comes after the events of s5 after she’s dipped her feet in Riara and decides, nah not for me (for now) and have an open ending. Do you see where I’m going? One would obviously be a better ending for Riara but either way I think we’ll get scenes of them being a weird little fucked up thing that no one gets expect for them.

Turtle and the hare y’all, riaras made it this far with one scene and a dream. I’m gonna keep this momentum and going and trust in the universe lol.

Jarah is my #1 ship I agree with all this. I’m glad Jarah is pregnant and I feel it was necessary because what drama could they have them going through w/out breaking them up this season? Also John B is the main character and Sarah and him don’t have other family it makes sense for them to end the show with them creating one.

But I do see where it could been a good idea w/Jiara.

1. Could add to drama of Kie ending up like her parents getting pregnant young

2. No one is now inheriting goat island with JJ dead the could have though! 😢

Someone on Twitter actually said that it should have been Kiara who got pregnant because Jiara is freakier than Jarah and there's no way they didn't have unprotected sex at times.

1. Jiara is not freakier than Jarah. John B and Sarah had sex in a frickin church.

2. It's canon that Jarah were going at it constantly in S4 to the point where Kiara was calling it "excessive"

3. This is a page out of the official Outer Banks book...

So they were having sex on a boat the same day she was shot and nearly died. They couldn't even control themselves then lol

4. When has it ever even been hinted at that Jiara has ever had sex. They only kissed like once in S4. They could barely touch or look at each other in S4.

5. Jarah was played by actors who have genuine red hot chemistry as evidenced by the fact that they dated and even after they broke up they are still dedicated to that onscreen relationship. So who has fiery chemistry more? Two people who dated or two people who hate each other. One could argue fiery chemistry = freakier sex lol

But this is what I mean when I say that Jiara stans have tunnel vision where all they see is Jiara. Which would be fine if they didn't complete misunderstand and misrepresent Jarah. What I don't accept though is acting like Jiara deserves all the great plots that Jarah has. I mean I'm sorry that the writers and the actors have shortchanged Jiara. But it's just impossible for the writers not to love Jarah and Jarah has actors who actually support their characters story and their endgame.

I can see John & Sarah starting a family and staying in the OBX & JJ becoming an uncle. Pope and Kira going to off to college butdifferent schools but obviously visiting them when they’re on break. Not sure exactly about Cleo!

OBX 4 FINALE THEORY:

I’ve been having this thought but why do I feel OBX4 will split the pogues up in the finale? No one dies but it will be bittersweet in the sense the Pogues will be forced or driven to split up. Like, each couple will go their own way and S5 will have another time jump and make them be back on the hunting for something again. I feel like this season is touching upon all the pogues wanting to leave the treasure hunt behind and having different ideas for the future. The whole time jump + forced proximity of the main characters is a common trope in teen dramas. I might be wrong but that’s the vibe it gives me.
