I've been brainrotting on hanakou angst because I was thinking about how Hanako probably isn't used to being able to touch people anymore :p

Hanako works HARD to put in the starved part of touch starved!! He is the type of person to have a suppressed appetite until Kou gives him a taste (however small it may be) and the heaviness of hunger, of want all rushes back in. He the type of person to feel almost sick from being bear hugged by Kou, the notion of being loved so fiercely becoming overwhelming in his strong arms. He the type of person to feel almost repulsed by how hot Kou is at first, not because it's uncomfortable (not at all, he adores his warmth so, so much) but rather because it’s so…foreign to him now that any bite, any touch at all feels disconjointed. Still, he can’t help the longing, the craving, that sits underneath his reawakening hunger that tells him to take everything he can get his hands on like some kind of addict.

Hey what do u think hanakou would be like as parents?

Sorry it took me a minute to answer this, I’ve been kind of overwhelmed lately. But asks always cheer me up so yippee, HanaKou!!

• These two would be the most chaotic parents ever

• I see them having a couple boys, it’s a whole family of dudes

• Their parenting styles are very different but complement each other well. Kou parents like a coach, encouraging the boys to put themselves out there and tackle their problems head on. He’d be the type of dad to have a sports metaphor for everything. He tries to be the handyman type dad and build play sets for his kids but he ends up wasting an entire day because he can’t figure out the instructions but insists on doing it himself. Do we see the vision??

• Hanako is more like a court jester trying to make the kids laugh all the time. He has a dad joke for everything and isn’t good with enforcing rules/punishments. Where Kou is authoritative, Hanako is permissive. Or I guess it would be Amane since he’s human. Anyways, he’s one of those dad who asks “Who?” when you’re talking about your best friend of 12 years. He’s a fun dad though and a very loving one

• Their kids all have vastly different hobbies so they’re hard to keep track of

• Fun and active family dynamic, they’re the type to go on family hikes. It’s a very chaotic but warm home life

I can’t believe Kou was the one to inspire hope for Hanako. He seriously planned on leaving Nene in blissful ignorance until Kou protested to it. Hanako was well aware that Kou is full of naive ideas that he can’t back up but against all odds, he still chose to believe in him. Is it a stretch to say that Kou is 1/2 of Hanako’s symbol for hope? After this I think the hell not

The contrast between Kou being able to balance a teacup on his tail as he runs whilst Hanako seems to drop his cup on purpose...do NOT invite his ass to the tea party!!

Kou Minamoto and his boyfriend with literal bad taste <3 What do you mean you want a sauce sandwich. You had all those scrumptious ingredients and you chose not one, not two but FOUR sauces???? No meat no veggies no nothing? Just straight sauce?

New headcanon that Hanako actively encourages Kou to make the weirdest food possible for him. It started off as a (self imposed) dare then somehow snowballed into him just doing it for shits and gigs as a weekly ritual. At first Kou was sorta apprehensive about having a hand in Hanako’s tastebud’s demise but it’s fun in a ‘boys will be boys’ kind of way. I'd imagine Hanako’s sense of taste is rather dull so the more terrible the taste or texture, the more memorable it is yk? Hanako is nothing if not committed to the bit!!

A regular exchange would probably be like:

“What cha got for me this week, kid?”

“Oh nothing…” Kou suddenly whips out a baggie, a wicked grin spread across his face, “Just some killer hot dog cookies.”

Hanako inspects the bag, observing the distasteful pink chunks of sausage in the sugary treat. “Lovely. I don’t think it’s gonna beat the takoyuckies though.” (It didn’t but the hot dog cookies left a lasting impact on Hanako, for he cannot taste either of those things the same after such a monstrosity.)
