damn, I can relate so much to this. 😅❤ Not to mention learning a new language because they never bothered to get their shows subtitled (except YiS), figuring out any possible way to watch their content in legal and less legal ways and spending a fortune to travel to Norway to be in the audience of IKMY, YmY and to see some of their concerts. But I never regretted anything. 💖

so.

in 2013, norwegian comedy duo ylvis releases a song called what does the fox say? it becomes a massive hit. i am one of millions who enjoys the song. but i'm not normal and i watched more ylvis videos. and then i watched their tv show that was airing at the time, called i kveld med ylvis. i learned basic norwegian. when ikmy wasn't airing i watched the ylvis backlog. they literally have not let me out of a chokehold since

every time i think okay, hyperfixation is over, they come out with a new show and bam. off we go. i watched norwegian taskmaster. i spiralled into general norwegian comedy. i've watched all of raske menn because one of the people in it, calle hellevang larsen, was on i kveld med ylvis as a sidekick. i reference raske menn sketches in real life that absolutely no one understands. i say things like 'i can do it worse if you'd like that' because of one little bit on an ikmy show in like season 2. 'i have the internet in a box in the basement'. the bits i have that no one knows. it's humiliating.

i've watched the most incomprehensible norwegian shows because of these fuckers. i spent an unfortunately significant amount of time yesterday trying to watch a fashion show just because bård ylvisåker launched a golf fashion brand. i don't play golf. i hate golf. why am i here.

ylvis was my first hyperfixation on here. others come and go. ylvis is eternal. ylvis will never release me.
