Narcissists
They are made of glass
Some opaque some crystal clear
Fragile structures
With a distorted world on their side
Inevitably they fall
Shattering against reality
Their shards explode out from them
Slicing and stabbing at anyone close
Attempted murder
Definite harm
It takes years to remove their broken pieces
Years to heal those wounds
And scars always remain
Haunting the soul

Running down cobblestone streets
The rain is a coming soon
Gas lit street lamps glow through mist
last shades of the sunset behind the city's silhouette
Fabric flowing behind me
Teal green gown
Running to find you before I lose the chance
You're still in your suit
But your feet are bare as you sip a drink
I expose my heart
A conversation of complexities
We both end on our knees
Fireplace to our side
Embracing
Moving to cuddle on the couch
Before your plane leaves with the rising sun

You're different said they.
Of course I am said I.
And of course I'm not.
May chance it's both.
Perhaps it is just more me
Then the me from before.
Or perhaps it is the lack of you
Then your influence from then.
Perhaps mine head
Is finally affixed proper.
Perhaps the wound you left
Allowed for required repairs.
Perhaps the daily dose
Charmed my life to light.
Perhaps you turning to hide
Cast your constant shadow away.
*
Perhaps my stories from our silence
Disconnect you from me.
Perhaps you unplugged yourself
And I continued onward.
*
I'm different said I.
Of course I am.
And of course I'm not.
May chance it's both.
